HERNANDEZ HARDWOOD FLOORS

It went very well. Very professional and quick. We did have to leave the floor in situ for 10 days to acclimatized to my house. Then they returned and covered it with polyurethene.

We have used them before. They did a good job, and we were pleased with the work that they did. They show up when they are supposed to. They are in the process of re-doing our floors right now because there was water damage. They did a good job the first time, and I feel their pricing is good. Our neighbors who have used them recommended them to us. Their prices are very reasonable compared to a lot of other estimates that we have received.

The crew came and installed the unfinished floor in one day and let it set for about a week to allow it to settle. They came back and sanded, stained, etc, the floor. They did a really good job of matching the color to the flooring that we already have. They were also very nice about any unforeseen problems (our son and dog walked across the wet floor and they came back resanded and finished out those spots). The floor finish on the floor is not quite as smooth as I would like, but to be fair I haven't asked them to come back out.

Company never saw fit to respond to my inquiry for service.

From estimate to final finish, they were on time and professional. Their estimate was about $3k less than my high estimate. They finished the install in one day instead of the estimated 2 days and also completed the sand and finish process a day ahead of schedule. The new wood floor was tied to existing wood floor, then everything (new and old) was scraped, sanded, and stained to match. You can not tell where old floor ends and new begins. It's absolutely beautiful. Our existing floors were 3 inch plank golden oak and outdated. I was considering tearing them out and installing a wider planked floor. Juan advised that distressing and darkening the existing floors would completely update the look and save me money. He was right. The business is family owned and each brother runs a crew, which basically means an owner is always on the job. I loved them and would definitely hire again.

I asked this firm to estimate the cost to install ceramic tile in two rooms and refinish all the hardwood flooring in my home. from beginning to end, the job was done in a most professional and courteous manner. i received a very detailed estimate, was given time frames for the job, and was even offered several options of how the job could be approached . all time and cost promises were kept, and the quality of work was second to none. all of the crews were prompt and considerate of my home, and i was given frequent updates on scheduling, and assistance in tile selection, by maria from their showroom. overall, this was as good as it gets if you need this type of this service, and this family- run business is the standard by which other like businesses should measure themselves.

I sent Hernandez Hardwood Flooring an email inquiring about an estimate on Sunday August 9, 2009. He replied on that Monday the 10th. We scheduled a time for him to come and provide an estimate, which was Tuesday the 11th at 2:00 pm. He arrived on time looked over the job and provided me with an estimate. He said he could possibly do the repairs the next day. He would call me about 45 minute in advance of his arrival. He called me the next day on the 12th to say his workers were in route. The workers arrived and carefully removed the two damaged boards and replace them. They were very careful not to damage additional boards or anything else in my home and I really really appreciated that. Because the last two times I had repairs done at my home, the workers damaged other stuff. In fact, thus with the floor needing to be repair. I was very pleased with the work and I am considering this company for a larger project.

The experience was great. Maria described the process and price from the very beginning and answered any questions I had. She also made recommendations as to appropriate stain and color. The installation team was punctual, thorough, courteous, and informative. I appreciated information about the type of hardwood floors that existed in this older home that I just purchased. The crew leader let me know that I have red oak in most of the house, but white oak in the living room. He also repaired a few damaged boards in a closet that we previously didn't know about without asking for additional payment.

The original plan was to do the flooring ourselves, but as we learned more about doing glued down hardwood, it appeared to be something only a professional should do. Not even the best of "do it yourself handymen" take on this type of project. So after preparing(cutting to fit)wood for two of three rooms to be done, we called and got estimates for the remainder of the work. To say the least, gluing down hardwood already cut to fit did not appear to be at all common among those who install floors. Hernandez not only would do it, he worked us in to meet our needs. The crew that did the work was quick, professional and very quiet. When done, the crew cleaned up, including swabbing down the tile that they had to walk on going from room to room as the wood was installed. As they left they let us know when we could get on the finished floors and when furniture could be put back.

We have used this company before and the results were so good that we just used them again. We liked that there were no surprises and we were aware of every step. They were very good at communication. The entire job took 12 days and the results are fabulous.

Hernandez's servicemen did a fantastic job. They are good in all aspects of a service business. They were very professional. The person who did the estimate and the people who did the work all represent their company very well.

Arrived on time and did not waste any time doing the job...Excellent clean up including dusting the walls, furniture and taking out the waste. No one would have known a job of that magnitude had been done that day... The team lead was extremely polite and service oriented... I had used this company before and was pleased with their work; I was even happier with their second job....

I moved out of the house prior to their arrival. They came Monday morning to do the sanding and replace any sections that had dark places-an additional $500 but at my request. A coat of poly was applied. On Tuesday the stain was done. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday successive coats of poly were applied. I moved back in Saturday which was probably a day too soon. The finish was still "soft". It had been a wet, cold week. All work was satisfactorily done in a timely manner. My home was neat and clean upon my return. Maria stayed in touch with me and handled all questions and concerns beautifully. Job came in as scheduled. The floors look great!

Very pleased with the results. I was hesitant to do the work because it required that we be out of the house for almost a week, but we scheduled it during our summer vacation and the floors and the house looked great upon our return. They put up protective sheeting over the furniture and drapes to prevent the dust from the sanding from going everywhere, and the house was as clean as when we left. The communication was good on the appointment for the estimate, and the week before the work was to be done, Mr. Hernandez came out and sanded a small area of the floor and applied four different stains so that I could see how they would look in my house. I took his recommendation on the stain color, and I'm glad I did because it really updated the look of the floors. I think Hernandez Hardwood did a great job for a great price and took care in our home even though we were not present to oversee the job.

Very well. They showed up on time, met their estimate and did the work exactly as I wanted it done.

This was very disappointing. We had to move everything off the floors, board our pets, and move out of our house for a week. When we got back, the cracks had not been filled in. We said this was unacceptable and the owner said he was not interested in redoing the job. I was impressed that he offered our full deposit back. His partner/brother said he wanted to try adding a commercial finish that would fill in the cracks. We agreed and left for another night. When we came back the cracks still looked bad so we asked for the refund. A week later the final finish began peeling up in small strips. We are now looking for another company to completely re-do the job. Even with the refund, we are out of all our costs of moving out of the house and our floor is worse than when we began.

This is the second home we have contracted with them to install hardwood floors. They are very polite, professional, knowledgeable and skilled. Their price is very competitive. They take great care, to see that everything is protected and the job site is left very clean. They are a wonderful, local family owned business. Do not hesitate to use them, they're the best

I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. THEY WERE PROMPT, POLITE, CALLED FREQUENTLY TO NOTIFY ME OF ARRIVAL AND WORK TIMES AND THE FLOORS LOOK FANTASTIC. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE WHERE THE FLOORS WERE REPAIRED, THEY CLEANED EVERYTHING WHEN THEY LEFT. THEY WERE A PLEASURE TO HAVE IN MY HOME AND WE ARE PLANNING TO USE THEM TO INSTALL SOME HARDWOOD FLOORING IN AN ADDITION WE ARE ABOUT TO BUILD. DEFINITELY TALK TO THE PEOPLE AT THIS COMPANY.

HAD TO REPLACE BAD WOOD. WAS RAINING OUTSIDE, BUT THEY WERE SO NEAT AND CLEAN. THE WORK WAS MAJOR, BUT IT WAS DONE IN THREE DAYS. WERE CLEAN, EFFICIENT, AND HARDWORKING. DID EXCELLENT, OUTSTANDING WORK AS IT WAS MORE RESTORATION THAN JUST REFINISHING.

EXCELLENT SERVICE, ARRIVED EXACTLY ON TIME AND THE ENTIRE AREA TO BE RE-FINISHED WAS SANDED 5 HOURS LATER FOR ME TO CHOOSE A STAIN TO BE APPLIED. THEY TOOK EXCEPTIONAL CARE (HUNG PLASTIC SHEETING TO PROTECT CLOSETS AND OTHER AREAS OF THE HOUSE, TIED UP DRAPERIES AND TURNED ON CEILING FANS TO SPEED DRYING). THE CREW DOING THE WORK WERE POLITE AND OBVIOUSLY TOOK PRIDE IN THEIR WORK.
