The brush roller on my Dyson DC15 Animal broke and I knew I could fix it myself but didn't really have the time or the inclination and it needed to be cleaned anyway. So I took it to Evans on Camp Bowie who I had used before but not for a long time. I had had the same exact problem with it a year before and I had ordered the part online and fixed it myself. I am a woman and not particularly handy but this was an easy repair. So since it needed to be cleaned also I decided to take it to Evans. I knew something was up when the person I left it with started making out like this was going to be a big repair job. So when I hadn't heard back from them for 5 DAYS, I called to check on it and apparently, they hadn't even looked at it yet. I told them I had 4 pets and my house was filthy and I needed to get it fixed ASAP so they called me back later that day with an estimate of $249!!! The guy started giving me this long list of things that needed to be done to it and so I knew then they were trying to rip me off. I told the guy nevermind and I would pick if up that afternoon. When I got there to pick it up (had to rush to get there because they close at 6 and I don't get off work until 5), the technician said he hadn't put it back together yet and it would take 30 minutes to do that. So I told him I couldn't come back on Wednesday but would be there on Thursday to get it. When I showed up on Thursday (here again, rushing to get there before they closed), I got the same story of how it wasn't ready because he didn't think I was coming until Saturday!!! I was angry by now and told him to just give it to me the way it was and I'd put it together myself. So he brings it out it in about 50 pieces with all the wires disconnected. I knew I couldn't assemble it in that condition so I told him to put it together right then and I would wait. He protested that it would take 30 minutes and I said I didn't care, I'd wait anyway. It took him about 10 minutes and he apologized when he was loading in my car for the "miscommunication." When I got it home, I took it apart and the only thing that is wrong with it is the brush roller as I had suspected from the beginning. I ordered the part last night and I will fix it and clean it up myself for about $30.
Description of Work: They gave me a bid of $249 for repairing and cleaning a Dyson vacuum cleaner which was based on repairs I knew were not necessary. Then they fooled around for days putting it back together so I could get it back from them.
