"The Angies List coupons are detailed and fine tuned.They say "call before purchase", as well as explain any extra cost for steep roofs over 8/12 pitches due to insurance and OSHA laws.Unfortunately, some customers fail to read this or expect us to overlook our lawful and "safety first" responsibilities.Its unfortunate that we are on the receiving end of the mediocre and sometime bad grades.We are investigating if we should not participate in the coupons offered by the Angies List Team to avoid these grades. We do not enjoy taking the hit as seen in some of my responses with other low grades.We make every attempt to be transparent while supporting the "Big Deals" , but we are limited to the guidelines within the coupons .I talked to the customer and she expressed that the technician didn't call when he was on the way ,so she was not at the appointment. I think this lead to a breakdown in communication which resulted in the assumption we could not do steep roofs.We work on steep roofs and highrise buildings on a daily basis,but must follow state regulations.To accomplish this, an additional fee would apply to cover such cost for protection. "To be clear CCR is"able" to act as a representative during an insurance negotiation under a reinspect. CCR is very "willing" to do so as long as the laws are followed to proceed with this action.As a policy holder,the homeowner is the only one that can call in for a reinspect,unless the customer advise the insurance company that they have hired a company to represent them and they turn over the contingency contract to the insurance company.The customer was unwilling to hire CCR and sign the authorizing contract.Their for by law we cannot interfere with the claim. Customers can Google the recent lawsuit awarding a consumer 275k for lon smith roofing violating the law without authorization to act as a liaison. We asked the customer to call us back when he was ready,but never heard back from the customer on his decision.As I cannot speak for integrity roofing,I can only assume they followed the same law we are governed by and the customer sighed their authorization.It seems they came in right behind us and confirmed what we had told the customer,but had better luck since the customer had now heard this twice by two companies.Its unfortunate we are receiving the low marks for being the first on the scene.With the same insurance program as all roofing companies with licensed adjustors on the payroll,we could have easily accomplished the same outcome if authorization was given to us to do so. An analogy may be better understood if I may? A lawyer can offer free advice,However cannot go before a judge and represent someones case without first hiring him to do so. Same thing in this situation.We are pleased to hear the outcome of your situation and are glad you got a resolution that ended up with a full replacement.Sean at integrity opened his doors after the 2004 storm and to this date,from what I know, receives few complaints a year and installs the GAF shingles. I differ in the shingle manufacture due to the GAF certification is bought and not earned,as well as I believe GAF does not stand behind any manufacturing defect. I will install the cheaper shingles if a customer is in love with them,However my roofs are backed by the biggest name in business, Owens Corning.Only 6 companies are certified out of 3200 in Texas,We had to earn that,not just send in a check to buy a certificate. "This is a unwarranted review and a prime example of the misuse of Angie’s List by a member of the public. The customer was charged for the steep roof as outlined in the coupon purchased. The customer accepted this charge as well as a repair contract for $850.00. In return for the additional work my technician waived the $100.00 fee for cleaning the piles of leaves from his roof. The customer signed off on the work that needed to be done and was put on the schedule for later in the week. When the accountant called to collect the agreed upon $150.00 for the steep roof a few days later, the customer began to batter and renegotiate the price with the office staff although we extended a savings of $100.00 already. When the customers attempts was denied he abruptly canceled the $850.00 agreed upon contract. He immediately took the power of the internet, used it as weapon to vindictively and casually mark all F's. It’s my opinion Angie's List should step in and assist members that check the box : HONEST AND ACCURATE, when they have ulterior motives outside the Angie's list agreement.
