Two months late starting even after several follow-up calls and emails. Work not properly trimmed out as promised requiring more follow-ups.

I worked during the day so I was unable to supervise what was happening. There were many problems with the quality including cracked tiles installed and shortcuts taken that I suppose he (the owner and the one who does much of the work along with his small team of young men) thought I would not notice. These included gaps where crown molding met the wall, that he tried to cover up with excessive amounts of caulk or some kind of sealant. Also, installation of a toilet without sealing it to the floor so it leaked all over my wood floor ruining it and causing me to replace it. They (his team) also made a MESS and I had to hire a maid to clean several times!!!! But that was nothing compared to the worst....

By far my biggest complaint was my bathroom remodel!!! I purchased a very expensive slipper tub with expensive chrome fixtures. After installation, I noticed the pipe leaking on to the floor with the first use. Upon closer inspection I noticed that much of the chrome pipes had been scarred by what was surely the wrong tools to fit the pipes. These were permanent, visible scars. Also, the cast iron tub had marks in the white finish, where apparently tools or other things had banged into it. But, the worst part was the leak! In fact, the leaking caused my newly installed wood floors to buckle! The contractor returned to and quot;fixand quot; it twice but it continued to leak.

I decided that I should get down on the floor to do a closer inspection. As it turned the only and quot;fixand quot; he did was to seal the decorative plastic cap (made to look like chrome and conceal where the pipe enters the floor) to the wood floor with silicone! What this did was hold the leaking water inside the plastic cap so I didn't see it, but it did nothing for the leak, which continued and was the reason my wood floors were ruined! After several calls to get him to return to fix it, he avoided me. To make a long story short, I figured there must be a bigger problem hiding beneath. Turns out there was a huge problem! A friend who is a master plumber disassembled the plumbing to find out what the contractor installed wasn't any kind of real plumbing but an assembly of scraps including a rubber hose from an HVAC unit. My friend had to jack hammer up the slab to get at what all this contractor had done. First among problems, there was no p-trap installed. Second, because he didn't go down far enough into the slab in the first place, the contractor ran out of room to fit the correct pipe joints, so instead of going further down, which would have take more time and effort, he rigged his own contraption made out of a thin rubber hose from an HVAC unit (I was told)...no pipe at all! Also, the PVC piping was laid directly in the concrete and concreted over...without a sleeve which would, as I was told, degrade the pipe over time. Additionally, the ends of the PVC pipe (where the rubber tube inserted into) were jagged as if he didn't even bother to cut a proper edge.

In all, the repairs to fix his shoddy work cost be about $5,000 and of course that does not include damage to the tub and chrome pipes, which I did not replace, but bother me to this day. I was prepared to take the contractor to small claims court and I had and still have all the evidence documented in photos and emails. Unfortunately I deployed to Afghanistan for a year and the way the court works is that if you do not show up to fight your case you lose! Needless to say, I could not fight it. There you have it...I should have checked Angie's List first!!

I spent around $1000 for the installation. I did not get the door from him, he just did the installation, and I was trying to get it installed before Thanksgiving. The door was ordered and it came in the week before Thanksgiving and he came in and said that he would do his best and installed it before Thanksgiving. I was pleased that I asked him to do that and he made a special effort to install it when I asked and did a good job on the installation.

Contacted Mr. Anderson after earlier shutter job to ask about re-attaching brick trim that had apparently either fallen down before shutter installation, or had some portion inadvertently knocked down during installation. Price was never mentioned specifically when I phoned about re-attaching (and mortaring) the brick trim--my mistake, and obviously 'buyer beware' is the lesson. Since shutter job was so well done, I asked him to do the brickwork without a quote. It was not a huge amount of work (raised-brick border around a rectangular shutter, probably 2 ft. x 6 ft.), and all brick pieces were available (laying beneath the shutter), so I figured the cost would be small. During the job, I asked his two co-workers how much the job would be as they were completing the work, but they said I should call Mr. Anderson and determine that with him. I did so, and over the phone he stated "...oh, around two-hundred dollars"--which I thought was a little high, but was probably his 'top end' guess as we were talking on the phone. When I received the emailed invoice after the ensuing weekend, the bill was $255.00. The issue isn't so much the amount, but the principle. If I get a rough-gouge estimate, I assume it will be 'no more than.' I don't expect the final to come in more than 25% above. Same as the shutter job, there was no issue with the work quality--it was excellent. Bottom line is I'm an idiot for not nailing down the price in advance--no argument there--but this left a bad impression about integrity. Update: Changed overall experience to B, since I must share the blame for the pricing issue. I do recommend him, as the work is excellent--just ensure that estimate is received and firm before beginning work (which I knew I should have done, and usually do...but overlooked this time). However, I'm still doubtful whether I would use this individual again.

Took awhile to get shutters in and painted, but he advised what the timeline would be in-advance...and it pretty much played out. Excellent quality work overall. However, one location where shutters were installed had some brick trim that had either fallen off the main surface prior to shutter installation, or some brick pieces may have inadvertently been knocked down during installation...he wasn't clear initially when asked about the brickwork after the job. At any rate, he offered to repair brick trim on follow-on job, and never quoted price, but he did such a good job on the shutters I asked for him to do the brickwork--this was my mistake for not getting price in advance. See separate report for that experience, as basically the shutter job went very well overall.

We returned home from a wedding to find our front door busted in and our house robbed. I started calling contractor's at 8am the next morning. Anderson's answered the phone immediately and had crew at my house within the hour to get started. They worked quickly and diligently the whole morning to complete the repair work. They were professional and courteous. They explained my options and helped to give me peace of mind that my door was not only repaired, but now much more secure. They left no mess, and even returned the next morning to complete the staining on the door jam so it would look nice. I was very pleased.

The experience went very well. He arrived on time. He was very professional and friendly. It did not take him very long at all to get the job done. I am pleased with how everything turned out. He was very neat about everything and left no mess whatsoever.
