I was referred to TruBold Security by a DSC distributor, because I was doing research on alarm panels and how I could sync my alarm system to my water leak detection system. TruBold Security educated me on what needed to be done, and even performed its own research for this job. They were punctual, professional and very meticulous in how they installed items. The pricing was fair and I was provided the pricing before the work even started. I would highly recommend TruBold Security.

On the phone we were quoted a price of $139+tax, which I was told covered 2hrs. I asked if the charge would be less if the job was done in under two hours. I was told it would not, but we decided to go ahead anyway, as we wanted to get the alarm fixed. On arrival the tech took a look and said that as he had to run a wire into the attic, it may take extra time and so could cost more. We said OK. We were pleased the work was completed in only 30mins. However instead of being charged $139+tax as quoted, we were charged $179+tax. I called the company as I felt there had been a mistake - the guy had only been here 30mins- but was told the price was correct. The gentleman then explained that because he had to go into the attic there was an additional charge (he didn't mention it at the time), also the $139 was essentially a call out charge, and the 2hours quoted included his driving time. Ouch, that wasn't made clear either. Wow, if this had all been explained to me up front I would never have gone with this company, as it was all sounding like fuzzy math. I had no clue that I should have asked him how much of my allotted 2hrs was going to be taken up by his traveling time, so that I would know how much time would be left to do the actual work! Just think, use this guy and he could be eating lunch or sitting in traffic racking up dollars in your checkbook for an hour or more before he even arrives, there's no way to know - scarey. I explained to him we were very unhappy about the confusing pricing, but he was not prepared to address this. When I mentioned I would not be able to give him a good review - he just commented he already had a lot of good reviews on Angie's List and that he would rebut any comments I made. This guy did good work, but our experience was that once in the door he would push the price up any way he could. We will stick with businesses that have clear, honest pricing in future where you don't need to know what "special questions" .you should ask up front. BEWARE!

On April 22, 2015, Mr. Garrett replaced our outdated alarm system with a new system. I thought he did a great job installing it, but shortly after, we noticed that two of our phone jacks quit working. One of the jacks was located on the opposite wall of the internals of our security system, and the other jack was located directly above it but upstairs. I had no idea if it was related to the changes that he made, or if it was just a coincidence. We don't use our home phone very often, so I didn't know if it quit working before, after, or during the install of our security system. We use a low cost online telephone provider (IP phone), so I didn't have access to our phone records to determine when everything quit. We had not made any other recent changes or had any other service on our home, so I contacted Mr. Garrett, and he said that he would be happy to check it out. After spending at least 30 minutes troubleshooting the problem, he discovered that there was a partial break of the line inside the wall. He repaired it, and everything worked again. Because of the way the wiring was situated within the wall, it was obvious that he didn't cause it. He was not physically anywhere near the wire break when he installed our alarm system. I felt bad, because I knew that I had wasted his time, so I offered to pay him for the repair. He declined to accept any payment. He is such a nice guy who just wanted to make everything right with his customer. He did. He went above and beyond, and that is why I will recommend him to everyone and always call him first for anything else in the future.

Lloyd was incredibly responsive, informative, professional, and helpful. We had a 15+ year old alarm system that had 3 failed zones. He integrated newer wireless technology into our preexisting hard wired system and basically rebuilt our entire system. From first contact, he provided us with great information and clearly explained our options. He was quick to respond to our questions. His company is one of the few that will make repairs to existing alarm systems without requiring monitoring service. The other companies were pushing monitoring service so hard, they weren't even listening to our real need - which was fixing a broken system. After watching him work, it was obvious to me that Lloyd is the type of person who sets a high standard for the quality of his work. He listened to our problem and understood how to solve it using the latest technology. And he is a nice guy. I highly recommend that you at least talk to Lloyd before making any decisions.

Lloyd was very responsive. Our alarm system was going off every four hours because of a dead back-up battery, so we needed someone to come quickly. He fit us into his schedule and came to our home the next day. He was very professional, courteous and worked very quickly. He answered several questions and checked out the alarm system. I highly recommend him.

My alarm system was inoperable after a thunderstorm. I emailed TRUBOLD (Lloyd Garrett) and requested a service call on a certain date. Lloyd contacted me via telephone and we discussed the problem. Lloyd was able to work with my schedule and he called me twice prior to his arrival. Lloyd was on time and he showed a high level of professionalism. He was able to diagnose and fix the problem immediately. He then had to reprogram and test all my zones. He noticed my panel was showing a low external battery and he advise me of all my options. I then made the decision to replace my battery. He also noticed a loose wire and he fixed that issue. I asked him several questions concerning the operation of my alarm panel and he took time to answer every question. When he reprogrammed my alarm system, he always looked away when i entered my code. I thought that was awesome. He also never never tried to pressure me to buy any of his services, he just repaired my alarm system. I felt the repair price was very reasonable. It took a while before we could arrange a mutually good time, but Mr. Garrett showed up on time and did a good job. He was very professional in his appearance and work and patiently answered all of my questions.

Lloyd was very courteous and knowledgeable, answered all our questions, and volunteered lots of suggestions that will help us use our security system more effectively.

f the upgrade. Lloyd knows his subject and is very skilled in communicating the key issues and options. We agreed to make all the doors secure and he installed the necessary hardware to make that complete. He installed what we agreed and he priced it as we had agreed. I would surely use Lloyd again.

The doorbell and intercom works fine now. Very good response, and results for the cost of the service call only. Would use again.

Trubold Security is one of the finest companies I have done business with in a very long. Lloyd who is the owner came out and did a great job. He was on time, came out the same day I called, honest, courteous and I feel like my home is secure under Trubold's protection. Very punctual and polite. When we had our windows replaced, they disconnected all the alarm sensors on the windows, and left unsightly wires hanging out. Trubold provided just the service we needed, reconnecting these sensors, without having to pay for continuing monitoring service, as other companies require. He offered several options, depending on whether our system still worked or not, all very reasonable. He gave us the least expensive option, based on our needs. He did a quick and thorough job re-connecting the sensors. He tested the system. and re-trained us in how to use it, as it had been a while since it was connected. A very good experience overall.

We feel like we received excellent value for the money and now have a security system that will protect our house. We were well informed throughout the process, presented with options and their pluses and minuses. Lastly, a complete explanation of how to use the system was given (including to my wife, who speaks English as her 2nd language), with patience and clarity. Really a great company to work with.

I'm always amazed to call a service company when I have a problem and hear these words.... "we can be there in an hour." Our home was built 4 years ago with an alarm system built-in. The system would trip and sound the alarm randomly even when there was no apparent reason. We called Lloyd at Trubold and he was on-site in a jiffy. He explained what the possibilities might be, how he would diagnoss the problem and the approximate cost of the repair and did so prior to any expenses being incurred. Ultimately, he located the problem quickly (thankfully, it turmed our to be one of the least costly breaks to fix) and fixed it in a way that met all of my expectations. The price was reasonable, the work was delivered as promised and in a timely manner; he was even careful to clean up after himself leaving no visible trace of the work he had performed. I give Lloyd and TruBold Security my highest recommendation.

Bought a house and the previous tenant removed the hard wired system when they left. I purchased a new alarm system online and started with the install. After determining it was to much for me I called several companies in the DFW area to have them come out to install the alarm. 3-5 companies would not do it but one of them referred me to TruBold. I called TruBold up and explained the situation and they were more than happy to come out and work on my system. They came out and in a matter of minutes had my system wired and programmed. I was really impressed with Lloyd and his professionalism. He had all of the programming codes memorized which made it a quick and painless install.

After my home was burglarized, I wanted to use the installed alarm that I had never used since moving in eight years ago. I did lots of online research and called around including calling service providers on Angie's List. Most could not help me unless I would change out my equipment. One recommended Lloyd to me and I gave him a call. Lloyd returned my call the next day and detailed what he could do and all the expenses of doing it. He even had spare parts for my system which is no longer made. Lloyd showed up early, made the programming changes in about 10 minutes and checked out my system. He then took me through how to set and use the alarm. It took him longer to write up my ticket than to do the actual work. I would definitely recommend and use Lloyd again. His company provides monitoring of alarms and installation of security cameras too. Although he is in Forney, he had no issue with coming to west Plano and says he goes all around the DFW area. Super nice guy and tremendous service.
