They are real honest and give a fair price. We would definitely use them again and we would highly recommend them.

Calvin has been to my house twice in the last couple of years to work on my older HVAC system and each time I have been very satisfied with the work done. He is very methodical about the way he works and is fair in pricing. You can tell he enjoys what he is doing and not in it just to make a buck. Recently he replaced the fan motor on my outside unit and did a maintenance check. He also spent time advising me on solutions to a problem in an area of my house that was not adequately cooling and suggested a couple of cost-free solutions first. You can tell Calvin is a man of great integrity. I highly recommend Calvin's Climate.

My downstairs AC unit wasn't cooling like it should and I had one of the larger companies come out for a regular inspection. They identified that I was low on coolant but were unable to identify the source of the leak. They decided it was most likely my coil and quoted me $3800 to replace it. The price seemed high based on what I could see with a quick Google search so I decided to get a 2nd quote. I called Calvin's, didn't provide much detail other than I needed a quote to replace the coil for my 5 ton unit. Without knowing the other price or the original equipment quoted, Calvin quoted me the same product for $2400. Calvin came out that evening to inspect and make sure they would be good to install the coil the next day - he couldn't find a leak around the coil and ended up identifying the source of the leak was most likely due to a missing cap on my compressor unit. He topped off my coolant, added some dye so if there is a leak elsewhere we can spot it, replaced the cap and charged me about $225. So possibly he'll be back out again if it does turn out there is a leak in my coil or elsewhere but I'll still have saved a ton vs. going with the original company and quote (and possibly still not having my problem solved after spending all that $$$ with them).

 We had hired another company to come out and service our units last week.  Turns out the tech said our coil was leaking very badly.  Previously, we had Calvin out to service our AC units for regular maintenance and filter replacement.  At almost every appointment we were charged for coolant.  We thought nothing of this.  However, we just learned this week that we should not be adding coolant to our system.  Especially in a new unit!  Our home was completed in March of 2012 and this is our first home.  The tech said that if we are having to add coolant every year, like Calvin was charging us for, then there was a leak in the system.  Calvin did not run a diagnostic, or suggest a diagnostic, and we were not told there could be a potential problem with our unit at any of our appointments with him.  We called Calvin's Ac to ask him about what we recently learned and get an explanation for this as we were extremely upset, and his response was that he surely must have told us there might have been a leak.  Really? Why would we ignore a problem when the builder's warranty would have replaced the unit? We are sorely disappointed.  Now we will have unwarranted coils installed in new units, when we could have just asked for a replacement unit under our warranty.  Calvin did not wish to refund our money for the coolant or service, and we will not be using him again.  We just replaced a coil in one unit that the tech said was so bad, that one he removed recently (that was over 10 years old) didn't look as bad as ours.  Our units are only 4 years old!  It was completely covered in rust.  We also had a metallic smell in our ventilation that has almost disappeared since that particular coil came out.  From what we can tell it's the freon escaping into the air but have hired an engineer to review everything and make sure it is safe because all three units at one point received coolant from Calvin.  Very disappointed.

One of our units stopped working so we called Calvin. Although we didn't have a scheduled appointment and it was late in the day Calvin arrived (in what I would consider after hours) assessed our problem and was able to repair the unit promptly. He was courteous (even though you could tell he had had a long day working), explained the problem and was able to get our home cooling again in a short time. After hearing awful tales from friends about their experiences with other companies regarding scheduling, late / no show appointments, incorrect work and dishonest quotes, it was wonderful to receive service from a company I felt like I could trust and that valued me as a client. I also liked the idea of supporting a family owned business.

Called and asked for service and told Calvin's wife what the problem was and she had Calvin get in touch.  As you can guess this time of year he was pretty booked and said he would try and get to us on Monday, but would definitely get to us on Tuesday at 11AM.
He called about 5PM Monday and offered to come out and work Monday evening and get us fixed, but I told him not to worry about it and Tuesday would be fine.  He asked if I was sure, that he would be more than happy to get us fixed that night.  I told Calvin I really appreciated the offer, but Tuesday would be fine.
He came Tuesday, quickly diagnoses the issue, replaced the part and added the necessary refrigerant, did a check on my second unit and then proceeded to clean both in less than 1 1/2 hours.  The entire time he explained what was going on and how he was going to fix it and before he was done, my upstairs was again cool.  Calvin was very friendly and courteous the entire time and let me know that in the near future the R-22 he used would be gone.  He said it wasn't urgent yet, but to start budgeting for possible replacements in the next 4-5 years or so. 
I told him when the weather got cooler, I would have him take a look in my attic and give me an estimate to re-do both AC and Heating units.  He never tried to upsell me or pressure me which I appreciated and just let me know what my options were.
I would definitely use him again and highly recommend him to anyone who needs AC/Heating work!

Very professional, and very prompt. This is the 2nd time we have used them, and we will definitely use them again.

Calvin's personal attention to his clients is first class.  He is dependable and makes sure everything is working before leaving the job.  My air conditioner was cooling the house within a couple of hours.

Prompt service, accommodating appointment time, arrived exactly when he said he would.  Calvin took the time to find the problem and didn't just begin replacing parts until it was resolved.  He was able to locate the problem between our unit and thermostat and fix it.  Great service, friendly guy, reasonable price and we will ALWAYS use Calvin's Climate for all our heating/AC needs!

Calvin responded and completed the service on fairly short notice.  The unit was difficult to clean without dis-assembly, so he cleaned as much as possible and it helped remove the musty smell it produced prior to the cleaning.

Calvin very quickly diagnosed my heater problem & all was fixed in less than 1/2 hour.  This heater hasn't worked in over 8 years but fired right up.

We couldn't be happier with the entire experience with Calvin and his team, once again. He was quick to get back with us and to schedule a time to come over and see what the problem with the unit was. He gave us a couple of options from a quick fix (and lower cost) to the long-term fix (replacing the system). We didn't hesitate to have the best solution for us, to replace, based on experience with Calvin and the unit he installed last year. He stands by his work and makes himself available for questions and follow-up whenever needed. We feel like the quality of the work his team did is evident as we didn't have any issues after either unit was installed. They were prompt, cleaned up after their work, and were respectful and careful in our home.

On Sunday afternoon our A/C stopped pushing cold air. This added complications to a home remodeling project this is in progress. I have used Calvin's Climate 3 times now and am extremely satisfied with his service.
Calvin answered the phone on a Sunday afternoon. He asked me several questions to assist in the diagnosis of the A/C unit. I explained that the compressor would turn on, but the fan was not running. Later that same afternoon Calvin arrived and replaced the fan motor in my compressor.
Calvin's responsiveness on a weekend call allowed me to keep the rest of my remodeling project on schedule. I will continue to use Calvin's Climate as my A/C service provider.

Our upstairs AC unit stopped working sometime on Friday, July 5th (great timing).  We noticed that the upstairs was warmer than it should be roughly around 6pm that night.  I called Calvin based upon the other reviews on Angie's List.  He indicated he was out of town, but would be back early afternoon Saturday.  Since the downstairs unit was functioning, I decided that timeframe was fine.
He called before arriving and was right within the window of time.  He quickly diagnosed the problem and took the motor with him.  He also dealt with the manufacture to see if there was any warrant on a the part.
Cal called me first thing Monday morning as promised and explained what needed to be fixed and that he would be out between 3pm - 4pm that day.  He arrived closer to 5pm and apologized that his other appointment ran later than expected.
But, that minor delay notwithstanding, he installed the repaired motor, tested everything, cleaned my condenser coils and had us cool again within the hour.
I'd use him again.

Calvin came out himself to check on our A/C. He had to come back the next day with the parts to finish the job as it was late in the day when I called him. It took some work, but he got it fixed. We did not mind having Calvin in our home, and Calvin didn't mind when my young son wanted to watch him work and ask a bunch of questions. He answered a bunch of questions about the current state and future of our A/C unit that have helped us plan/save for the future. We will definitely call him next time.

I could not be more pleased.  Calvin is very friendly and pleasant.

Smoothly: Calvin appeared at the agreed-on time, checked the symptoms of our problems, identified their possible causes, ruled out several of those possible causes (some of them more expensive), and helped us decide on the best course of action. He also took one or two phone calls after hours to answer questions that occurred to us after he had left. Then they showed up, did the agreed-on repairs for a reasonable price, assured us about follow-ups should we have any questions or problems, and cleaned up the mess. Our system is now as good as new -- quite possibly for the life of the house.

Other firm recommended was Tempo Mechanical Service who was my maintenance/svc contractor and provides excellent svc;their A/C expert, Greg Shaw..excellent salesman, very patiently answered all my questions about tonnage required, etc.  but bid  and brand of A/C (brand being primary factor) better..Trane) with AirClinic recommended by Service Magic.

Our A/C quit working the night before we were leaving on vacation.  We had used Calvin's before, so we called and made an appointment for a technician to come out the day we arrived back home.  He looked at the A/C unit  and found a pinched wire.  He repaired the wire and the A/C has worked fine since.  Very reliable company!
