I ended up cancelling my insurance claim and will take care of the water damage on my own, using the people I want to use from Angie's List!
Description of Work: This is a very BIG company and they have Franchises all over the country. I was going to use the company for testing of mold and possible water damage restoration. The Franchise that I was using was for the Dallas, Fort Worth Area and I think they were based in Arlington, but it was really hard to tell. They wasted my time for over a four day period. First they were going to come on Saturday, then I called to get a time frame and the office rep, "Brad" stated they were too busy for Saturday. We agreed on Sunday, sometime in the morning. Sunday came and around 1:15pm or so I looked on my cell phone and saw they had called, ONE time and left a voice mail for me to call them back. I called them back and that is basically the end of the arrangement. After calling the office and the driver over 4 times, The actual driver, who had left the ONE message that he was on his way and to call him back, was allegedly writing down my home number (he was repeating the number he said to his partner). We agreed on Tuesday, after Labor Day, between 4pm-5pm, and I stated I would call them when I was leaving work. I left work early and called before 4pm. to let them know I was home and also to call me so I knew they received my phone call. Close to 5pm, I called again and left a voice mail and then called the main office, where I was told that someone had already called me that day and left a voice mail to set up a time, but I did not respond. I said that NOONE called me and gave them my home number too. Brad wanted to set the time up for the next evening after 5. That's all the info. I received, was after 5, which could be anytime after 5.I became very frustrated and cancelled the service.

I like it when a company is truthful, even if it means costing them business. The stain was minor and not very noticeable; the odor was the more compelling reason for seeking help. The cat marked the spot only about 4 times. John pulled the carpet up and realized there was likely nothing he (or anyone) could do to completely remove the smell. The backside of the carpet had set too long in urine floating on top of a pad which had a liquid resistant film. (And the pad was contaminated too.) John said he could change out the pad and do the, as he said, quite costly labor to try and remove most of the stain, but that was all we could hope for because of the carpet backside contamination, which could not be cleaned. Basically the carpet was ruined and simply needed to be replaced. John told us that and I like honesty enough to report/brag on Rainbow Intl. Another company, on the other hand... I won't ever use them again! I had first called them out to clean the entire carpet with a concentration on the soiled corner. They were not at all upfront about their ability to remove the stain/odor. All they wanted to do is shampoo clean (not steam clean) the carpet, charge me more than the original quote, give me a flowery masking liquid for the corner, and run off with about $200 of my money. The company's promise to return for little money is little consolation when all they'll do is simply perform the same ineffectual treatment. And besides not being truthful or effectual with regards to the cat urine, even the basic cleaning was not one that afterwards I would say yielded noticeable results. John from Rainbow Intl. said he was not surprised by that. He told me the other company doesn't even use hot water in their process. I'm not sure if that's true or not, but it was what I was told.
Description of Work: It was a free estimate on removing cat urine stain and odor from carpet in one living room corner location.
