"When I first drove up to the customers home seven years ago from the street it was one of the worst foundations we have ever seen. The foundation was out almost ten inches and looked like the home was falling off the hill. Now when you drive up and walk up to the home the foundation looked good even after seven years. I have been back to this home several times over the years and every time we ask if they ever repaired the failed sewer line leak from July 8, 2014. Now after seven years with no report from customer of ever doing plumbing repairs the garage brick at the corner that was down ten inches before has separated at the top on one side only 1/2 of an inch. Last week at no charge to the customer we adjusted two piers on the corner of the garage and again ordered another plumbing test but do not at this time have the results. We have attached the failed sewer line test from seven years ago. Thank You! Dave H***"
"We did more adjustments after several plumbing leaks. The third time we did ajustments the charge was $1200 including adjusting wingwall again. We always had trouble coiiecting for repairs and customer never paid for the last repairs. We are not going to do more new work caused from another plumbing leak when customer still owes for last repair. The customer is so hard to work with that the franchises he owned forced him to sell them all back. Dave Hall"
"Re-doing Foundation Repair We re-do foundation repair done by my competitors almost every week. We have redone foundation repair for this company before, they have been in business for over 20yrs. I called in an engineer on this project because it looked like the customer was going after the foundation company. The engineer agreed with what I had already recommended. I have worked with him for 18 years and we have done thousands of foundation repair jobs together. I did commercial steel erection from coast to coast of the United States for 28 years before I started foundation repair. The company that installed the piers was given every opportunity to reinstall the failing piers under their Life Time Warranty. The piers they installed 3 years ago and months before were only installed about 4 feet deep. All the new piers and old piers that had to be reinstalled went about 15 feet deep. I ask every customer to please go to our website and see our video showing my background in construction for 48 years. www.ProtectYourDream.com My competitors will not tell you what they were doing before they stated repairing foundation for home owners. If you want to have your foundation repairs done right the first time call us. I was at a customer home two weeks ago, they had an engineer report that they paid $600.00 for. It was almost worthless and was incorrect. We did not use the engineers repair plan. I am sorry this customer had to re-do previous foundation repair. Every time I am at a customer's house and they tell me they have never had foundation repair before it is music to my ears. No one has a budget set aside for the repairs the first time or the second or the third. I had a customer last year repair 8 times and it was worse that before the first time and I had to tell the customer I could not do a very good job because after about the third time you run out of room under the foundation to install new piers. Thank You Dave"
It went incredibly well. Shortly after Dave (the owner) measured and checked all the areas of the house, he provided me with a full, detailed recommendation and cost - including options. After reading all the reviews and checking with another company, I decided to go with All American Foundation. As soon as I named a day, the team was ready.
Frank was the foreman and did an excellent job of communicating status. Every morning, they were exactly on-time. As we walked around the house the first time and identified any flowers and shrubs that I wanted to save, the team went to work. Since I work from home, we arranged for the inside jackhammering to start on day two - giving me time to prepare to go into the office.
The work ethic of the team was amazing. They knew exactly what they were doing and finished in an impressively short period of time. When working in my house and garage, they separated the work area from the rest of the house with sheets of plastic - minimizing the dust. They even sealed around the doors so dust didn't get into the pantry, etc.
Afterwards, they cleaned up and returned items to their original location.
I highly recommend this company and would hire them again in a heartbeat - but since I have a double-lifetime warranty, it is unlikely.
The work itself seems good. The lack of follow-up is not good.
"This customer has not been asking for a contract for a week. I just met him a week ago and he had just lost another sale on his home due to foundation problems. He needed a number of things done to his pier and beam foundation so it would pass inspection. I told him since it did not need any new piers installed I would not add permit and engineering unless he wanted them added $120.00 for permit and $350.00 for engineering. This was a saving of $470.00. Most companies do not do small jobs below $4,000 because they are not as profitable. We do not have a minimum and this is my second complaint at the BBB for doing some one a favor and doing a small job. I fast tracked this small job so he would not lose another sale. I met the customer on Wednesday and we completed this job the next day. The night before he elected after 8:00pm to add engineering and permit. I fast tracked the engineering by pulling some strings and was able to get engineering by 9:00am the next day when we did the job. The contract he signed had the $470.00 added to the price. He could have made himself a copy at his home when he signed our copy. He had made me a copy of some paper work the day before. The email with the contract and what it would cost was all in the email the day before. If you have a contract and email detail cost and what would be performed that is a legal contract and can be use in a court of law. I have been a contractor for 46 years, if it is in the contract then that what you get. Jobs are normally done within 30 days of signing. Included in most contracts are post plumbing test, engineering and a permit. The engineering, plumber and permit are all independent from All American. They are not on the same time table. Projects are made up of many phases. Jobs are all a little different but this is what was involved in this job: Signing the contract. This was done the morning of the job. I did not get the back off contract until 10 days later. My email before we started asked for both to be returned signed. The foundation repair was completed the same day he signed the contract. We received the engineering the same day. The permit was taken care of the following week. The final engineering was taken care of July 27 less than two week after work. Plumbing test done July 30 two weeks after work. In the world of business it take time to have multiple parts to a project completed. Most customers understand this and do not less than a week after the job has been completed start all over the internet throwing a company under the bus that did a good job and in the customers own word per his email the day of the job: "Thanks for the great work by Frank and team. I appreciate the speedy service." Customer The day the customer was filling complaints Amanda from our office sent him an email stating we were on it and everything would be taken care of. Amanda that been here for 12 years. My last two complaints at the BBB are for doing small jobs that are not profitable. I just can't help not wanting to help customers that need some kind of home repair. Dave Hall"
