Southeast Tree

I called and spoke with Hans regarding pruning some trees in my backyard. I was not able to be at the house when the work was being done, so I was little nervous about that. However, when I got home, my trees looks wonderful and they left my yard clean of all debri. This company still knows what the word "service" means.

I called on a Friday, was given a quote that afternoon. The work was performed the following Monday afternoon, and completed the next morning. Work was quick, professional, and not as expensive as I thought.

The crew did a great job working as a team, no wasted time. All the cuttings were picked up. They were on time and courteous. My trees look neat and well trimmed.

They did an awesome job! They were able to do the work the day after I got the quote. They were prompt, professional, and very hard workers. They worked the whole day cutting down the 2 large trees, pruning, and stump grinding . One of the cut trees was a large 30 year old oak . They also cleaned up the yard after they finished. I was impressed with this company. It was nice to see such hard workers doing a such great job. I would certainly recommend Southeast Tree to anyone who wants to use their services.

When Hans was called for an estimate, he was at my house within an hour. Work was started the next morning. He and his staff were courteous and professional and were extremely careful when working around the various flower garden areas. The yards were completely cleaned of debris.

They arrived on time with a sufficient crew. Were expert and very professional. Finished all work in a timely manner and cleaned up well. I paid exactly what the bid was. No extras. I was very satisfied.

Hans gave me a price that was almost half what the other two bids were. He came by on a Friday to give me an estimate and explained what would be included and that they would be able to do it the next Monday. They completed the job as promised even with the on-off rain during the day. They gound down the stump and exposed roots and removed all debris, swept off the patio and side walk and even put the lawn furniture back in place.

From start to finish this company - and owner meet every expectations - except one - they were less expensive than I expected. The owner came out - in the rain - when they told me they would come. Gave me a quote on the spot - and timing when they could perform the work. After getting two more bids - we settled on this company - not the cheapest but the most timely. Others were late or did not show to get a quote. The icing on the cake was they came a day EARLY to complete the job - prior to a big storm coming in that could have snapped the very large pine tree we were taking out! The whole are was clean and the stump grinding was excellent. My neighbor hired him to take out a tree that same day!!! We will call them again when we need tree services.

I called Hans mid morning and requested an estimate for tree removal; he was at my home about an hour later. He evaluated the tree in the backyard and gave me a cost, but it was not documented, an error on my part, I should have asked for documentation. Nonetheless, he said the work could be performed the same day. The crew arrived and started cutting the tree and moving the limbs to the front of the house for further processing. The stump and numerous surface roots were grinded. That process lasted until it was early evening, dusk, and the majority of the crew had departed. The debris from the front of the house was cleaned up and removed, but the large amount of grindings from the back was not. The individual who collected the payment said they did not do that; he said the sawdust/grindings will return to the earth or something to that effect. How long would that take? I wish it was disclosed that grinding debris was not going to be removed, because I would have gotten a fourth or fifth estimation from other tree services. However, from reading several of Southeast Tree Angie?s list reviews, other customers? debris (assuming the majority of the debris) was removed. I was disappointed the grindings were not cleaned up. I called Hans the next morning and told him the grindings were still in the backyard and he said he would send someone back to my house either that day or the next day; they came very early the next morning. I didn?t know they were in the back until I was about to let the dog outside. However, after they left I didn?t notice a big difference in the removal of the grindings. Instead, my son and I removed quite a bit of it ourselves. I spoke with a friend a couple of days after the tree was removed and she needed surface roots removed. I did not recommend the tree service I hired, because I am sure she would not want to remove the grindings/sawdust.

The crew showed up about 2 hours later when Hans promised. They were on my property for about 3 hours trimming the palms and removing the dead section from the silver maple. Hans himself took out the dead section and lowered it to the ground safely. They cleaned up all the mess satisfactory and I will be using them again in the future. This was not my first time using tree trimmers on my property so I knew what needed to be done an Hans and his crew delivered.

Overall was a pleasant experience and I would use Hans again without hesitation.

He was very quick to get me estimate and estimate was reasonable. They performed the work promptly and did a very good job. The only improvement could have been them cleaning up better after grindiing the stump but I have to admit I did not negotiate with them to haul off this debris. I would definitely use them again they did the job quickly and for a reasonable fee.

Overall I would definetely use Southeast tree again for trimming my trees.

I had a huge limb fall in my yard, cutting the power lines and breaking down a fence. After the electricians got done, I needed a tree service to remove the limb, but also check all the other trees for potential problems. After a severe drought last year was I worried that more limbs from my very old oaks might fall. I got two estimates, and this one was far more than the first. Why, you ask, would I go with the higher one? Because Hans offered far more than just hauling the wood away. I asked the first company to check all the trees, and asked if I needed to be home for the person to come see the trees (because I would be at work when they planned to come). They said no. They came when promised, and left a written estimate for $400 that was basically removing the limb and cutting a clearance over the roof. But the first opening they had was 3 weeks away! I found Southeast on Angie's List and called. Hans called back within the day, came the next day, BUT said that I needed to be there. He and I carefully looked at all the trees, and he spotted several rotted (big) branches that I hadn't noticed, plus some tree tops that were already broken off, laying in the tops of the trees just waiting to fall. It is amazing how easy this is to miss in casual inspection. He was particularly concerned with the branches that overhang each neighbor's driveway. He was knowledgeable about the trees' age and potential for future damage. He was personable but very professional. AND he promised to come two days later. He gave me a verbal estimate on the spot, shook hands on the deal, and left. I admit I wondered if this would come to pass as planned, but indeed he came promptly, called me first, and when I got home the place was transformed. He didn't "strip' the trees at all - they still look lovely - but he took care of both the dead branches and the super heavy ones that threaten to fall in the next storm. I liked doing business with a small business owner who clearly takes pride in his work and acts on his word. I would definitely recommend him.

Hans came to the house, looked over the trees, and gave me a fair estimate for trimming them. The crew arrived when he promised, did a great job of trimming, and cleaned up thoroughly.

Had three total estimates. Hans and another guy quoted me $750, a third bid came in at $900. Decided to go with Southeast because of their overall positive reviews and Hans gave me a 10% A.L Discount bringing it down to $675. The work was performed while I was at work which I was nervous about but decided to allow it due to their reputation. When I got home I looked and was 90% satisfied as they had done very well to get the pressure off the power line of the large front yard oak, but there was a very large branch that was still over my neighbors property line that I'd wanted taken down. I looked in the back and other than a few branches that were missed I was overall very satisfied with the quality of work and they'd cleaned up well. I did notice a small hole in the wooden fence which I called Hans about and he immediately told me he knew about it and would fix it as well as the other branches before he would accept payment. He came back out and I pointed out the additional branches I wanted fixed and he measured the fence board to make sure he could find a suitable replacement. Next day came home from work and the job was completed the fence repaired and I was 100% satisfied. Hans called next day and came over and made sure I was happy with the work and I gave him a check and told him I'd likely see him in a year or so. He's a real nice guy and willing to correct any minor mistakes quickly and very customer friendly.

I spoke with Hans from Southeast Tree he came to my residence to provide an estimate the same day. The estimate was fair and Hans and I agreed to schedule the work for Saturday, 8/11/2012. On the morning of 8/11, Hans called en route. Hans and two coworkers arrived around 0930 and began working immediately. Hans and his crew were pleasant and very respectful. By 1100, all the limbs had been trimmed, collected, and processed through the chipper/shredder pulled by the Southeast Tree truck. They also swept up the smallest limbs, pine needles, and debris. After they left, it was difficult to tell they had been there. Hans gave me a 10% discount by mentioning Angie's List. That brought the fee down from $325 to $290. Overall, I'm very pleased with the work and will use them again, if needed.

I called Hans the day after the tree fell in my front yard, missing my front windows by only a few millimeters. He was able to get out the next day to assess the damage and had his crew out that afternoon to begin cleaning up the tremendous mess in the yard. They got the part that had fallen completely cleaned up and hauled away that afternoon and returned early the next morning to begin taking down the rest of the tree. When I arrived at the house, Hans was working right along with his crew to get the tree down. It was a rather large tree and they did not stop until they had completely cleaned up every twig in my yard. The hard part was cutting up the tree and getting the parts of the tree ground up or cut up and on the trailer. They deserved every dime they got. The charge was very reasonable and they were very professional. I would recommend them to anyone. Neighbors even commented about what a nice job they did.

Never returned call or came out to give an estimate.

I allowed a frind to talk me into allowing his son and a friend to take down two old huge trees. After three days of sawdust flying I had two trees partially down, trucks too large to get from the back yard and no saw capable of cutting it smaller.

I was looking to clear an area of about 3 trees, all different sizes, to put in a playscape and, hopefully, get some grass to grow. I had originally told Hans I may not be able to be home while the work was done, and he said this wasn't a problem, but he and the crew arrived right as I was about to leave. Hans and I went over what was to be removed so we were both on the same page. There was a fairly large tree that had a massive amount of roots growing above the surface. I've never seen a tree do this before and it looked horrible. I'm terrible at estimating sizes of trees, but it was probably a good 16-18 feet with a circumference of about 10-12 inches? The other two trees were much smaller, with one tree about half the size of the big one, although tall, and the other tree was tall, but only about a 3 inch circumference. Hans again said it wasn't a problem that I had to leave, and he said he would come back at the end of the day to collect payment if I wasn't back by the time they left. I did not see any of the actual work, but before I left, I did hear one of the crew members say they could "just drop" the smallest of the trees. So I guess no climbing was involved for that one. I happened to come back right as the crew was leaving, so Hans came through the backyard with me to show me everything they did. Let me tell you, what a transformation! The yard looked bigger, the sun was shining through, and the birds were chirping! (insert angelic music here!) :) I was a little nervous about the process because the trees were also along the property line with my neighbor, but everything looked great and all cleaned up. Hans even removed some dying bushes that were surrounding the area of the trees from some old landscaping. Was very happy with the outcome and would definitely hire Hans and his crew again!

Hans and a crew of four trimmed a large live oak that was heavily overgrown and removed a number of surface roots that were running in all directions across the lawn. He removed all the debris, raked the lawn, and swept and blew off the sidewalks. They were done in just under an hour. Highly recommended.

EXCELLENT. THEY WERE IN AND OUT QUICKLY AND CLEANED THE MESS BEFORE THEY LEFT. HANS AND HIS CREW DID A VERY GOOD JOB.

Fast service, great price and great experience. Hans and his crew showed up at 5:00 PM - had the trees cut down within an hour and cleaned up and done within two. Very methodical and removed every stick and branch and cleaned up very nice. Will definitely use again for future work.

Hans is a great guy and a man of his word. When asked for a bid he responded quickly. Arrived promptly on the agreed date with an excellent crew. These folks work very hard, they are polite, and go to great length to satisfy the customer. Finished it all in a matter of hours, cleaned up everything to perfection and hauled away all wood and debris. Trees look great and I highly recommend Hans and Southeast Tree!!
