4 months ago, I had just finished moving into my new house and needed a couple of pieces of furniture to finish up. Specifically, I needed two bar stools to go in the kitchen for seating at the kitchen island/breakfast bar. While shopping around, we found some nice looking ones at Zuri that fit our decor perfectly. Going back on the weekend to buy them, we found them hosting a "Tent Sale" and were pleased to find the stools we were looking for at the sale. Checking with the salesman, he assured us that this is a rare sale and they were trying to clear out inventory for the new collections. I asked if there was any difference between these and the ones inside and he again assured us that everything was the same and covered under warranty, only at a discount (I think it was a 20% discount off of the new stool). Fast forward 3 months and one morning while sitting having my coffee, I'm surprised to find that the counter is chest high. I raise the stool and 2 mins later, the counter is chest high again. Obviously the gas lift valve was having problems, so later that day, I called the store to get service. When I called, I got what seemed like an inexperienced lady that didn't know what to do (first I had to bring the furniture in, then she said no, someone will come out ... etc.). After a little while on the phone, she told me that she'll have to get a manager and that I'll get a call back within a day. Barely an hour later, I got the call back but instead of scheduling a service call, I was politely informed that my purchase at the "Tent Sale" was final and included no warranty what so ever. So while I'm still going to call and argue this with the store manager, in short, I was taken in by one of the oldest stories in the book, a sneaky salesman trying to get a sale and a company not willing to stand by their product (Stools are "Zuri" branded). The sad part is that this simple service call would've cost them about $15 at most if they needed to replace the gas lift, which is a cheap price to pay to have a happy and satisfied customer, especially in a business that benefits greatly from repeat and referral customers. Instead, not only have they made me regret my purchase, but they actually lost me as a customer for life (Which is actually funny since I was planning to start looking for a new couch next week).
Description of Work: They refused to repair a 3 month old bar stool that had it's lift mechanism start failing.
