They showed up on time, quickly figured out what the problem was with my AC unit and was able to repair it. The price was fair and the service was excellent.

Isaac arrived on time and was very friendly. When he came inside, he was already wearing booties over his shoes, which I took as a good sign of experience and professionalism. The work was done quickly and efficiently. The payment process was also simple, done on Isaac's phone, and both pictures of the work and a receipt were immediately emailed to me. I was very pleased with the whole experience.

The technician was on time and professional. Our 3 units are about 14 years old and still functional. I have no interest in replacing until it is necessary and have had others try to "sell"us on the importance of replacing all 3 now. He went over the issues with each unit and understood that we do not want to replace now. Additional suggestions about which unit to replace first, how and best time to replace. The pricing was fair and I never felt as if he was trying to sell us anything that is not currently needed.
Description of Work: We did the initial inspection purchased through Angie's list. Performed an initial inspection of 3 units and added refrigeration to one that was low. We made a follow up appointment to service the units.

The repair guy, Greg, seemed very knowledgeable about the AC unit. He also explained how thing work, how they should work. The AC blower motor price seemed high to me, but I was told my unit requires a variable speed motor. So they cost a lot more than others. $1100 for the motor replacement, and about $650 to replace the TXV valve. I would use them again.

Texas AirZone installed 2 HVAC units (complete system, including ducting, condenser outside, furnace and coil inside and new thermostats Ecobee 3 home kit, 4 days ago. Wow, what a difference. This review sounds too good to be true, so let me state from the beginning that I have no relationship with this company and that I had never used them until this installation experience, but boy am I glad I did. The experience with this company was nothing like I?ve had with other HVAC companies. First the estimate: Chris (co-owner) was my first interaction with the company for an estimate on the new systems. He showed up on time. He?s super professional, very personable, respectful, and all around nice-guy. He went above and beyond. He found things that no other company (and let me tell you, I?ve had about 20 over the past 10 years with all my issues with my old HVAC units) had mentioned or offered (we now have cool air in our 1935 home?s kitchen). He didn?t have to do this, but he actually went through 2 crawl spaces with his nice clean shirt (and our crawl space under our house has never been cleaned and is super dirty), to find out if it?s possible to do the kitchen A/C?s new vent. We've never had a kitchen vent and it's always hot in there in the summer and cold in winter. He figured out ways to more evenly distribute air to the different rooms to compensate for poor insulation and outside walls that made some rooms harder to get comfortable. I wanted my attic to be more accessible so he said that his installer will take of making the attic much nicer. (I thought well they?ll probably just do a couple of things but anything is better than nothing, and never imagined what they actually did on the install, more on that later). Then as promised a day later I received his 20 page plus estimate with 4 options on systems. Range in price was reasonable and the choices all made sense and allowed me to compare efficiency and price on these multiple different units. In the end I choose a middle of the road system, and on his recommendation I feel like I made the right choice. I?ll be here in this house for another 10 years so it?s an investment in comfort which hopefully with the increased efficiency pay for itself (at least some of it) over those many years or more. It was painless. Their price wasn?t the lowest (but close) but was very reasonable and for the amount of work that the installers did, it was probably the best value out there. Off to the installation: Pablo called me and set up a time to arrive which he was on time. He?s the head installer. It took 2 days since I had so much duct work and extra work that needed done. Pablo is very knowledgeable. He?s a nice guy, and takes significant pride in what he does. He enjoys his work and it shows. But the rest of it is hard to describe. I wanted a easier to move-around-attic. I wanted better air flow. I wanted some ducts moved around. I wanted it done right. But I had no expectation of what I saw when I came back home at 3 pm that first day. It was a huge surprise. My attic was now open. I had so much more access. I know I told him that I trusted him and I just wanted an open attic and whatever he thought would be fine. But I only had pointed to 2 or 3 ducts to be moved. He moved most of them. Wow, what a difference. I had not expected the amount of work he had already done. And this was day one. And low and behold, I had new steps in my attic and he had made a new platform and walkway. I almost couldn?t recognize my own attic. I was giddy. Seriously, I don?t remember any of this on the contract (and not a cent more was charged for all this extra work). And then the 2nd day, more of the same, walkway extended, hand rail installed for easier walking up to my attic, new vent placed with roof flashing. He (and his team) didn?t have to do all this extra work. But that?s how Pablo is. Pablo goes above and beyond what?s asked of him. No one at Texas AirZone asked me to write this review but I think to help my fellow Angie?s List members, I want everyone to know that in Dallas, TX, there?s no company that I trust more with my HVAC than Texas AirZone. I will update as I get my first service but I will expect nothing less than superb twice a year service from this company. I know I won?t have to worry about my system, easily for the next 10 years but because of the care that Pablo took with everything, and installing everything not only to code and to manufacturer?s specification and instructions but going above and beyond, I expect my new systems to be problem free for much more than 10 years. I know that Texas AirZone, Chris and Pablo and whomever I work with in the future will go above and beyond what I expect of them and they?ll do it, because they think it?s the right thing to do. I don?t know if they made a whole lot of profit doing all this work for me (it couldn?t be that much), but they have made a customer for life and I will make sure all of my friends and family members use them for any of their HVAC needs in the future. Speaking of that I had a friend visiting from out of town this weekend and he was so impressed by their work that he?s asking me if they do any installations in Houston. Not sure, but I will ask. I never met Gary, the owner, but if I ever do, I will shake his hand, and tell him what a gem of company he has created, what a great guy Chris (co-owner) is, and how amazing Pablo is. I will stop here but trust me, I could write so much more. I have before and after pictures of my attic and if there's ever a way to upload them, I will, since seeing is believing.

They came out on time and the tech was very professional. He told me what was wrong after the fact, which is important to me to know what was wrong. The tech accidentally charged me for a service visit that I had already paid for on Angie's list. I didn't even realize it. A few days later THEY called me and told me of the error and that they would be giving me a credit on my account, which they did. Who does that anymore? I will always use them now. No need to shop around for other AC/Heat services.

On the scheduled day for installation, no one showed up. I called them & they had me scheduled for another day. However without missing a beat they changed their schedule & came out. All work was still completed in the predetermined amount of time. They did not have my system available so they gave me a better one at the same price. I was impressed with their professionalism, thoroughness, and attention to detail. They cleaned up after themselves - even rehanging pictures that they had removed from the wall to keep them safe - and vacuumed, cleaned the yard & cleaned the driveway before leaving. Everyone was very neat, polite & respectful. I highly recommend this company & will definitel;y use them again!

As the installation date arrived, I met with Chris and Pablo, the installation manager for a walk through of what they were going to do and asking about some preferences of mine (ie, where to locate new return vents, etc). Originally, Chris had budgeted 3 days for this job but Pablo said they could more than likely do it in 2. Pablo also asked if they could create a new access hole in our garage ceiling so they could remove the old systems and duct work through that versus carrying down through our living room. I told him to go ahead, as it seemed like a much more efficient process while minimizing all the foot traffic that would have created in the house. Day 1 is over and I was very surprised how much Pablo and his team had accomplished – I could tell I was in store for a very professional job by the way they had hung the duct work and installed the new furnaces. Day 2 I came home around 5pm and they were 99% finished. After Pablo gave me a quick overview of what they had done (adding an additional vent to a bedroom, where they installed the returns, etc) and it all looked fantastic. They did have to run a drip line in the attic space that was potentially a tripping hazard that I expressed my concern to Pablo. He informed me they had to do this to ensure the water drained properly and was a code requirement – but regardless, he spoke to his team about other solutions and within 30 minutes, they had removed that setup and had cut a couple of boards in the attic decking and reinstalled it under the decking, completing removing it from view and eliminating the tripping hazard. Pablo also gave me an overview of the new Infinity Controls and helped me setup the programming – I must say controls are very cool and it gives this system a wow factor. And lastly, as happy as I am with the new system, Pablo designed the new furnaces and duct work to be hung in such a way that I now have 2 to 3 times as much attic space as I did before. We put our Christmas tree and other boxes in the attic and it still has so much walkable space – it is amazing! With all of that said, I was very happy that I choose Texas Airzone to install these new systems into our house. From working with Chris at the beginning of the process to Pablo and the installation team, the company does what they say and treats your house like it is their own. They informed me to see how the house cools and if there are any hot or cool spots, they will return and work on any adjustments to our comfort. I’m very happy to have this company and the people a phone call away.
Description of Work: Downstairs: Involved removal of 20+ year old systems and Installation of a 4-ton Carrier Performance 17 System, 4-ton Carrier Performance 17 Condenser, Carrier, 90,000 BTU Infinity 80 2-stage Gas Furnace, 4-ton Carrie Tin-Plated Copper Evaporator Coil, Infinity Control, copper lines, added new returns and replaced duct work to improve air flow to our Master Bedroom. Upstairs: Involved removal of 20+ year old systems and Installation of a 2-ton Carrier Performance 17 System, 2-ton Carrier Performance 17 Condenser, Carrier, 70,000 BTU Infinity 80 2-stage Gas Furnace, 2-ton Carrie Tin-Plated Copper Evaporator Coil, Infinity Control, copper lines, added new return, and replaced all duct work. Since the Tax Credits were announced back in 2009 for efficient A/C’s, I have been researching systems and installation companies knowing that our 20+ year old systems were on their last legs and we would want to take advantage of the tax credit by the Dec 2010 deadline. I spoke with several HVAC companies in my research, all companies rated A+ here on Angie’s List. All seemed well versed in the industry and I could have went with any of them and probably been happy, but Chris at Texas Airzone had the level of detailed knowledge and passion that really set Texas Airzone apart from the rest. He was very detailed in his assessment and engaged me with details on his through process and what he wanted to do to enhance our HVAC situation. He provided me a quote in Sept 2009 and was never used any “sales” tactics to push the process along – he gave me his cell number and was very laid back about the process. After we found out about the Texas Appliance Rebate in early 2010, we decided we would go ahead and pull the trigger with Texas Airzone and take advantage of both the Tax Credit and State Rebate. Initially, Chris has indicated the Infinity Series 21 was the best value because of existing Carrier rebates. But when we discussed this again in March, Carrier had made an adjustment to their rebates, increasing a $400 rebate to a $1000 rebate on the Performance 17 series, which is actually eligible for some rebates that the Infinity Series is not. The Infinity Series actually has a nicer exterior finish and is more attractive, but after many discussions with Chris I decided to go with the Performance 17 and save the money with the increased rebates. Excellent. Couldn't be better. We haven't received this kind of response and results in our 15 years of experience in dealing with HVAC companies in Dallas (this includes installation, repairs and maintenance). At no time did we have to chase them for anything; prices for labor and parts are very reasonable. We plan on staying with Texas Air Zone.
Description of Work: Outside condensing unit stopped early Saturday morning. Left messages with 3 different companies after viewing Angieslist; Texas Air Zone actually called Saturday morning when they opened. They came out within hours and got the unit running. They came back on Monday with new parts and finished the job. Details: Found ants in both contactors. Replaced with new 40 amp 3pole contactors; also found wires shorted in two places inside unit between the compressors. Dead animal in this location was convered with ants. Repaired wires to compressor and one on crankcase heater.

First contacted the company in the spring of 2009 and received a proposal to replace the entire HVAC system. I was very impressed by the knowledge and professionalism of Chris, but decided we would struggle through another hot summer. Contacted Chris again in the spring of 2010 to ask for an updated proposal. Chris was not very responsive to my e-mail. He eventually called me, and we discussed the job and he said he would provide a couple of different options. His proposal arrived but did not include the second option. I e-mailed him to ask for it and that was the last I heard from him. It appeared that the company was extremely busy and really not very interested in my business. I was really disappointed in this because based on the Angie's List reports and from meeting Chris I really wanted them to do the work. In the meantime one of the zones stopped working so we had to go with another company who could start the work almost immediately, with mixed results and that experience will be in a separate report

Leaving for work in morning heard louder sound than usual from fan through intake vent. Checked thermostat and saw already not keeping up with set temp so pulled up Angie's List and selected three companies, none of which could get out until next day. Temp projected to be 98 degrees. Barb, Dispatcher, called me back 1/2 hour after initial call to Air Zone and could squeeze me in that morning. Gary arrived between calls and quickly diagnosed the problem, pointing out what would have to be done. As system thawed, he headed out for another job stating that Barb would call me when another technician became available that afternoon. Gary showed up at the end of the day just as I'd completed the removal of all of the vines and other growth from around the unit and had removed the last of the sections of the housing. He took over washing it down and then added freon, answering all of my questions along the way. Everyone was very professional, knowledgeable and responsive. Gary didn't leave until nearly 7:00, ensuring that he'd finished everything completely before departing. Price was great, especially considering the 15% discount afforded Angie's List members. Have bookmarked them for future HVAC needs and will speak with them about replacement in the fall.
Description of Work: Greg diagnosed frozen coils on 18 year old air conditioner. Found condenser badly in need of cleaning. Advised to let unit thaw over a 3+ hour period when a technician would return to check freon level and identify need for any other repairs. Owner Gary returned 4-5 hours later, around 5-5:30 and washed condenser coil, He checked freon level, needing to add 2.5 lbs to system. Pressure reached, Gary took quick look at blower in attic. We discussed options for future improvements to cooling of non-zoned home and the timing for possible equipment replacement.

Even though they did not perform any work, I couldn't be more pleased with their service. He described in great detail that based on how the current system is set up, it would be even more inefficient to add a second unit. Where other companies would be trying to just sell me a new A/C unit, I fell like Texas Air Zone was extremely honest and detail oriented. When we have work that needs to be done, we will definitely call them again.
Description of Work: We have a 3200 square foot home and only one A/C unit. We wanted to see how much money it would cost to have an additional A/C unit for the upstairs so our house would cool more efficiently.

Pablo and his two assistant installers did a MARVELOUS job. They spent two long days at my home completing removing the old system, preparing the attic and installing my new system. They answered questions and were extremely considerate, cleaning up after themselves perfectly. They left my home cleaner than they found it! Chris was available that evening and the next day to answer several questions that came up, and I appreciated not having to wonder all weekend about certain things. I couldn't be happier with my new system. I only wish I had done this years ago! Do not hesitate to call Texas Air for all your HVAC needs, whether it is a new system or simply a yearly checkup on your existing system!
Description of Work: Texas Airzone completely replaced my 18 year old HVAC system - including the duct work in the attic. I had never been happy with the system in the 8 years I've lived in my home, and multiple other contractors had told me "well, you have a 2-story house and heat rises, you know", as if everything was my own fault for buying a 2 story house! Texas Airzone showed me that with the proper system and technology you can evenly heat and cool your two story home even if you don't have two separate units sitting outside! What a pleasant relief! Prior to the work being completed, they spent 2 hours measuring all the rooms in my home, speaking with me about my situation, and evaluating the existing system before presenting me a few days later with a detailed proposal, including detail on what would be done, equipment to be used and of course final cost.

Texas Airzone was just wonderful. They originally came out in February to give me an estimate, but when I learned about the rebate program that was going to start in April, I waited to get a new system and they were okay with that decision. When I called back in April after reserving a rebate online (I was very lucky to get through that mess), Chris pulled up the February estimate (which was still good) and even remembered about the unit being in the wall. He sent out a great team of guys and they arrived right on time at 9am and then set to work. They were zooming all over my home, with guys working inside and up in the attic. Everyone was very nice and they were very careful about keeping my house clean (dropcloths around the old unit, holding boxes up around the vents when they were cutting larger holes for the new vents, sweeping/vacuuming up any loose insulation that fell from the vents, etc.). The team was very skilled and they were even able to get the new copper lines up the wall and through the very complicated peaked roof area (when I was getting bids, a different contractor had said it would be impossible and that they would have to run the new copper lines all the way around my house along the soffits). They finished a little after 6pm and Pablo took me up to the attic to show me where the filter was, how often I would need to change it, etc. They also completed decked the floor of my attic in the area surrounding the new system, not just a pathway to the filter section, so I got added storage space as a surprise. I am very happy with my new HVAC system -the old one would make loud "ka-thunk" noises when it switched on or off but I can't even hear the new one turn on; I just notice cool air blowing in the room. Since I had just had a bad experience with a contractor for a different project at my home, I was worried about going through another home improvement project, but Texas Airzone showed me that there are excellent responsible contractors out there after all.
Description of Work: Texas Air Zone replaced my 26 year--old forced air heater and outdoor a/c condenser with a new, much more energy efficient heat pump and electric fan coil, plus new properly-sized copper lines, new ductwork and vents. My old system was the original one from 1984 and was sized to go into an apartment, not a full-sized house. The indoor forced air heater was in the wall and was the wrong size for my home. The gray plastic-covered ducts were also original and beginning to fall apart.

1. Appointment took one week of wait time. 2. Estimated date of work takes another one month. I called for service at around 20th of April. Appointment was scheduled on 05/01. Work schedule was set on 06-08. I've found out that the company was relatively a small company. That's why there's such a delay in scheduling. I had to drop this vendor and switch to a larger company.

I was extremely impressed with everyone I worked with at Texas Airzone. I sent an email request to speak with someone and I received a call the next morning and was able to schedule an appointment within a week. Chris Roebuck spent a lot of time explaining to me the physics of airflow in the house which I really appreciated. It gave me a tremendous amount of confidence in Texas Airzone. Everything Chris recommended he backed up with a very logical rationale. He was very honest. He sent me a bid the next day with two options, one more sophisticated and the other a very basic system. The bid reflected everything that we had discussed and was meet some of the special requirements that I had told him I was interested in. Chris sent the bid to me with a link to the current State of Texas Rebate program which he had also explained to me when he was here to assess my home. He also sent a link to information about the Tax credit for 2010 income taxes. We set a date for the installation. The Texas Airzone crew arrived at 9am sharp. They began by moving my furniture, covering my hardwood floors with drop cloths, and covering my furniture with plastic to protect it from dust. In no time at all, they removed the old system and installed all the equipment in a 2-day period. I was without air for only one night which wasn't bad at all. At the completion of the project, Pablo spent a half hour with me walking through every aspect of the project. In the attic, he pointed out the new equipment, the work they did on the ducting and decking as well as where key shut-off valves and electrical breakers were and when I needed to use them. We walked outside and he did the same wiht the condenser. Lastly, he showed me how the new Infinity Control worked. In addition to showing me how it works, he spent the time to program it for me. One of the things that really impressed me was that Texas Airzone wasn't eager to get payment the moment it was installed. Chris advised me to live with the system for a few days and then he'd come by and we could handle payment if I was completely satisfied and the system was working properly. That's really rare these days and only further gave me comfort that I had made the right decision. On a side note, there was a major family crisis that had happened to Chris in the middle of the night before my project was to begin. Amazingly, he was on my doorstep at the agreed upon time. I got the sense that Texas Airzone walks the talk when it comes to customer service. I can't recommend them enough ... they're truly a distinctive experience and their work is perfection.
Description of Work: My house was built in 1947 and the Heating & A/C system was about 20 years old. The ductwork was even older. My experience with Texas Airzone began with an assessment of the heating and cooling needs of my home by Chris Roebuck. I received a quote that included two options. One option was $11,464 and the other was $8,754. I chose the first option. Pablo and the team removed my old heating and air conditioning system, all the ductwork and registers. They installed decking in the attic, re-positioned the equipment in the attic so that it was more accessible, added an intake, added two supply vents and enlarged 3 supply vents, installed new condensate and copper lines to code, installed a new Carrier Performance 17/Infinity furnace, condenser (w/electrical disconnect), evaporator coil, filters, and Infinity control.

The tech was right on time. He wore protective shoe covers when ever he was in the house. After inspecting and cleaning both the units he explained what he found and that the units were in good condition. I was so impressed that I bought a service contract on each unit.

Chris was very apologetic that he could not come out because of a full schedule but helped me trouble shoot the problem over the phone. Suggested I get some one to confirm that it was a control board and that he would do the work during the week. We did just that - and he was cheaper on the install by $50! I am in retail and strive for outstanding customer service and Texas Air Zone absolutely has customer service down to a T. Very impressed. We've found our "friend in the business".
Description of Work: Had a control board go out on a Saturday morning.

I called and they took my information and explained that the receptionist had stepped out for a minute and would return my call promptly to set up a technician to come out. Not more than 2 minutes later I received a call. The technician was set up for 5pm and called at 4:15 to say he was running ahead of schedule and checked to make sure it was ok to come early. When the technician (Greg) arrived he was very professional. Greg promptly diagnosed and fixed the problem. He did a great job explaining and showing me what had happened and the AC was cooling in no time. He had no problem speaking with my husband to explain what had happened. He was in and out in no more than 30 minutes.
Description of Work: Our AC unit would not turn on. The technician (Greg) determined the source of the problem quickly and replaced some faulty wiring. Checked the freon levels upon request.

Went well and I was pleased with his explanations.
Description of Work: Called for service/cleaning/maintenance on my A/C system. The technician called me 10 minutes prior to appointment time, just to let me know he was on the way, which I appreciated. He was on-time and washed/cleaned the outside condenser, check filter, checked the temp differential, check static air flow pressure, check the electrical and controls, motor bearings and running amps. He advised me that I need a drain pain and a safety switch, and that they would call to schedule appt with me. He mentioned that duct work might be undersized for the unit, but didn't push me to try to have that work done since it was really a matter of personal preference and even distribution of cooling through every room in the house, which I appreciated. The payment was service plan, so they will be back in the fall to check the heater. I receive 10% off on service calls with them and there's no obligation or contract.

Chris gave us a detailed proposal after doing a lengthy analysis of a home we're considering to purchase. He provided lots of good information and provided the proposal earlier as per my request (and sent it in the middle of the night to get it to us). I am very impressed.
