Same Day Water Heaters

Having to replace my sister's hot water heater in the City of Seagoville was a nightmare. The City of Seagoville has guidelines that made a routine job a hassle. Thanks to Danny Walls at Same Day Water Heaters the job has been completed. It took time but Mr Walls kept us updated & informed step by step. The City of Seagoville delayed the progress in this matter that extended the work time but Mr Walls was patient and understanding. His knowledge in his field of work is outstanding. He was definitely the right guy for the job.

The plumbers did an excellent job installing my new water heater in the attic and getting it up to city code.

The installer arrived in time with a phone call a half hour before arriving. This was accomplished by contacting "Same Day Water Heaters" as recommended by Home Depot. I called them about 5:00P.M. the night before and the installer arrived by 9:00A.M. the next day. The price for the water heater and installation was $852; but with extra parts needed the bill came to $1334. This was unforeseen by me. The installer was excellent and explained the prices to me and the operation of the water heater.

I called Same Day Water Heaters about 10 am one morning. My water heater was leaking and needed to be replaced ASAP so that it would not flood my house. After agreeing to a price of about $1,000 I found out they could not come until the following day. When the repair guy arrived he told me I also needed $600 in additional parts, one of which was a $369 flood stop that he told me was REQUIRED by the city but that he had to order that part and it would be delivered in a few days. He also told me that the city would require me to install carbon monoxide detectors (in my all electric house). So here I was - stuck with a flooding water heater and and a price 60% higher than I was quoted. (I had called another company the day before that could have come out that day but their price was slightly higher so I went with Same Day Water Heaters.) I called the city inspector about the "required" flood stop and found out directly from him that the flood stop is absolutely not required since in Carrollton it's only required if the water heater is in the attic or in the middle of the house. Mine is located next to an exterior wall in the downstairs laundry room. Also, carbon monoxide detectors are only required for homes with gas. When I called Same Day WH about this unnecessary $369 part that I had already paid for but that had not been installed they gave me a huge hassle about refunding that money to me and kept telling me that they wouldn't refund it because it was a city requirement. Luckily the city inspector had no problem with personally telling them otherwise and they finally refunded my money.

Their representative was professional and easy to deal with. They quoted a reasonable price and said that when the plumber came out the charges may be more depending on what parts (pipes, valves, etc) needed to be replaced. When the plumber arrived he said that the copper pipes and fittings needed to be replaced and per city code, I needed new stainless steel check valves (because my brass ones had lead in them) as well as news gas lines and sediment traps. Then he said with a straight face, that would add an additional $600 to the job. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing - even if it was true what he said, that’s $600 for $75 worth of parts and maybe 30 minutes of additional labor. Needless to say I told them forget it. Talk about bait and switch.
