"One of our customer service representatives called and left a message on two separate occasions and sent an Angie's List email and none were returned by the client."
Wrote me a "Bid" on a Scope of Work Approval form. Each item we discussed had an amount written in. I would provide materials. The amounts seemed a little high, but not excessively. He did not write anything about a per hour rate, just total amounts. There is a lot of information on the back of the form about Time and Materials Estimate and that the amounts listed are "estimate(s), and not a fixed price bid." I understood that the charges could vary somewhat. ***** They also charge for the estimate. It's called a Service Fee - $65. This charge was not credited to the work performed, as reported by another member. **** I called and made an appt. to have Mr. Handyman do three of the tasks from the bid - $355 estimate plus materials. Again, no times or rates were written - just total amounts. From what their technician told me, all three could be completed during one call.
The work is excellent and the tech was friendly and professional. He did leave to purchase a plumbing valve and I agreed to pay for it. He arrived at 830 and wrote up my invoice at 545.
However, at completion I wound up being charged double the amount quoted. I requested that my credit card not be charged until I could discuss the pricing with their office. Left a message for them to call me.
I did get two call backs several days apart letting me know someone would research the work order and call me. According the their office, my paperwork went AWOL and I wound up not getting a call back right away. When they did call me, both the owner and the office manager spoke with me and were able to adjust the pricing to an amount just slightly more than the quoted price. I regret that there was a conflict on the price but Mr. Handyman did provide a quick and equitable resolution.
These guys were very professional and showed up eactly on time. It took two men from the company to complete the work because the electrical problem was more involved than expected. I was very pleased with the work accomplished and will be calling them again in the future.
