Glenn Townsend - Glenn's Appliance Repair

Glen's son came to my home and assessed the problem, he immediatly went got the part to fix my frig. I was trying to leave town and his consideration in working with me so I could leave on schedule was much appreciated. I googled the cost of the part and I was charged double the cost fof the part but it included diagnotics, 2 house calls and installation. I think not a bad price.

Glenn certainly knows his craft and trade. He seemed to be familiar with the inner workings all brands and models of dryers including ours. He may have an irascible manner, but we did not mind. Instead were very appreciative that he came out on very short notice and completed the repair. His price was reasonable, considering the timing.

Mr. Townsend knows his stuff. We were impressed with how quickly he ascertained what was wrong, and then how quickly he fixed the problem.

Glenn's son came. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Came originally for just a washer problem but, also fixed a major problem with the dryer. I would highly recommend their service.

Don't let your first impression of Glenn be the only one! When I first called Glenn I was leery. Glenn was a bit short with me on the phone, very curt and demanding. He barked at me about make and model, and it took quite a bit of back and forth. Ultimately, we worked through all of that, but once I got past that he was great! Glenn quoted me a price over the phone that was very reasonable, I asked about scheduling of when he could come out, he said "How about right now?", and was over within the hour. He was in and out, fixed the dryer up, gave me wife some tips on how to make the dryer's heating element last longer next time, and was on his way. Glenn won't talk your ear off, and he seems like a "get it done" sorta guy. He's in and out, and gone. But, in this day and age, I appreciated that when I look back. I highly recommend Glenn!

Glenn run a test on the electrical system and discovered the breaker was tripped.

I called Glenn after being run through the phone tree gauntlet with Whirlpool looking for information on a repair. He came right out, and besides being quite an interesting character, was extremely knowledgeable about the dryer (and appliances in general, especially older models). It did not take long for a diagnosis, and he had parts in his truck. It did not take long to get the part in, and now I'm back in business. I would most definitely call Glenn again, both for the repair, and for the conversation!

The problem was the computer and we wil probably buy new oven but he is to call with estimate

He recognized the problem, left to purchase the part, returned promptly and fixed it. He then ran a couple of cycles on the wash to make sure it was working properly.

I called at 8:30 am he arrived at 10:30am repair was done in less than 30 min for $125. Great deal!

Glenn took my call and arrived at my home 45 minutes later to repair my dryer. The whole process from initial call to repairs completed took less than 2 hours. After the repair he told me that my heating element probably should have lasted another 10 years and that I should check to be sure my ventilation was working because poor ventilation will burn up a heating element. Then he went outside with me and we checked for any signs of air movement coming out of the vent. There wasn't any so he suggested that I get the ventilation cleaned out. He was right, the ventilation is blocked. I pulled a bunch of debris out of it, but could not get it all. Glenn came back later to show me how I could know that the blower in my dryer was working and that the problem was still in the ventilation (the flexible tube expands when the dryer is turned on.) While he was there, he suggested that I disconnect the dryer from the ventilation tube so that I can use the dryer while waiting to have the ventilation cleaned. He disconnected it for me and did not charge for the follow-up visit. Glenn also called earlier this week to see how the ventilation cleaning went. I have the cleaning process scheduled with another Angie's List provider for later this month. Right now, I am grateful to be able to use the dryer. It makes things pretty steamy, but that's okay this time of year. All in all, I am pleased with Glenn's service.

After having trouble with A-Ford-Able Appliance Repair I called Glenn after noticing favorable reviews. Glenn promptly took my call and was over at my house in .30minutes. He quickly found the problem and replaced the worn out parts. He charged a fair price for quick work.

He was the sweetest man. He was extremely responsive. He came first thing in the morning and called before coming. He fixed it and asked me to follow up with him next week to make sure it was working well. He had a reasonable price.

Glenn was flexible and easy to schedule, arrived on time, and assessed the problem with washer very quickly. Repairs had to be accomplished at his shop; washer picked up, repaired, and delivered without alot of fuss. Worked out very well and repair was effective. Very pleased and recommend Glenn to others. I'll will use Glenn again for any of my major appliance repairs.

He arrived within 35 minutes of my call. Quickly diagnosed the potential problem and had a replacement part on his truck to use. Unfortunately this replacement part demonstrated a more serious problem that will require replacement of the refrigerator. He did not charge for the replacement part, only the service call. I was impressed by his fast response and knowledgeability. The most important thing was not wasting a couple of days waiting for someone else to tell me the same thing. I would contact him again for appliance repair.

Glenn diagnosed the problem over the phone, showed up 3mins before he said he would be here, fixed my dryer quickly for exactly Tue amount quoted. I'm going to have Glenn come back and fix a few other things too. I was very happy with the experience.

He came over, kept finding more things wrong with our washer. Then he had replacement parts that he had salvaged on his truck and got our washer in apple pie order.

Glenn arrived fast and fixed the problem with my thermostat. He does excellent work.

The work was done in a short time and cost was reasonable

The washing machine didn't work when Glenn arrived and didn't work when he left...$190 later. Glenn removed the top, jiggered with the fill valves, stating he had never seen both the hot and cold out simultaneously. He replaced the two and closed it up, took my money and left...no testing to see if it had more problems. It did fill, but it didn't drain or spin. One soggy mess. We didn't call him back because he really didn't seem to know what he was doing, repeatedly saying "let me try something", between railing about "the big guys" ripping off customers. Glenn takes only cash or check, gives no receipt, and whatever warrantee comes with the work is his good name...which may be considerable. Expecting the machine to work we didn't ask for a cost breakdown, so I don't know how much was parts and how much labor, but I don't have the confidence to let him try to make good on the work...I bought a new washer the next day.

Our dryer is over 30 years old, but still a workhorse. It was making noise & I thought it was the belt. I called Glenn & he was here within the hour. He found that the problem was the wheel that the drum spins on. It was fixed in under 30 minutes. Outstanding service!

I called Mr. Townsend yesterday. He had me send him pictures of the stove and the model number. He was very interested. He told me that he would get back me today. I thought he was going to let me know if he found the part. However, when he called, he was ready to come by and install the switch, which he did. I thought the charge was very reasonable considering how much effort he put into trying to determine which part was needed and if he could obtain the part as my stove is probably 20+ years old. Also, the price he quoted me over the phone was exactly what he charged. Very efficient. Would certainly use again.

Excellent. Came over very promptly, less than 30 mins on a very old oven and it was fixed. Couldn't have asked for better faster service.

Our 7 yr old refrigerator was running but did not seem to be holding a constant (low) temperature. After a couple of days of this we called Glenn. Turns out their base of operations is only a few miles from our house. It was a little after 530PM when we called and Glenn showed up in about 30 minutes. After several checks in freezer compartment (ice maker, water line, frost free mechanism) we found the problem: REALLY clogged up cooling coils not allowing compressor to do its job. He cleaned them and showed us how to do it in the future, put everything back together, and tested the temperature. He also warned us that we probably took a year or two off the life but only time would tell. I appreciated his candor and his instructiveness, but most of all, the prompt service and reasonable price.

Called Glen this morning after waiting 2 days for A -Ford-Able Appliance Repair to show up. Glenn requested a model number and promised to come out within the hour. He arrived within 30 minutes and had everything repaired within an hour. Pleasant, professional, and now my go-to person for any appliance repair. Forget A-Ford-Able Appliance Repair, go straight to Glenn and save yourself a headache!!
