Glenn Townsend - Glenn's Appliance Repair

Glenn, Jr. came to my house and quickly diagnosed the problem with my washing machine, which had been leaking and making a lot of noise. Ultimately, he recommended I get a new washing machine, so he did not do any actual repair, but I think that was the best service/recommendation I could have gotten under the circumstances. He also looked at my dryer (same age as washing machine), which seems to be fine, and at my dishwasher, which makes my glasses cloudy with mineral residue. He suggested a fix for the dishwasher residue, which I will try soon. Glenn, Sr. gave me some suggestions to help me whittle down my choices in new washing machines. I would call the Glenn's again if I need an appliance fixed.

I texted Glenn through Angie's list on a Sunday night at 5, he called me less than an hour later to set up a time. By Tuesday at 6 my dishwasher was back in business. Professional, fast, reasonable. Would definitely use again.

I called a day prior to needing the service thinking it would take a day or two for them to come. They were willing to come the same day I called! The scheduled appointment was at 10 a.m. and he called to say he had finished his other call early and would it be alright to come a little early! I was so impressed! Very nice gentleman. Could have easily charged me for repairs that weren't really needed, but gave me some information and told me he thought the machine was ok and that he thought I should wait for any repairs. I really felt that he was honest and will absolutely call him the next time I need an appliance repaired!

He brought us the "new" machine - we bought for $200 and he removed our other washing machine. It has worked beautifully. He was here when said he'd be, and was efficient.

I would definitely use Mr. Townsend again. He answered the call promptly, showed up within the hour and fixed the problem. he was very reasonably priced.

Mr. Townsend came out within an hour after I called. He took his time and checked everything on the refrigerator. His price was very reasonable. I will definitely use again

I called Glenn and he answered right away! We originally made an appointment for the next day but he called me 5 minutes later stating he could make it out now! He quoted me $85 over the phone stating it sounded like the door latch wasn't working. Once he got here he advised it was a coupler problem. He had to drain the water out of the washer. Then do the repair. Come to find out it was a broken coupler AND pump. Mind you my washer and dryer is a Roper brand and were bought in 1994! He replaced the pump and the coupler and now works fantastically!!! I chose Glenn because of his hours, I needed the washer fixed right away! He was prompt and over delivered by being able to come out same day rather than me having to wait until Monday thru Friday to call and make an appointment. Took about an hour to drain the water and do the repair! Thank you, Glenn, for saving the day!

Mr. Townsend answered each call promptly and helped me out at no charge. I will use again!!!!

I called Glenn. His son came to my house a few hours later and 40 minutes after that, the fridge was fixed at an extremely reasonable price.

Great punctual and efficient.

I called Glenn late Sunday afternoon and told him the refrigerator/freezer had completey stopped cooling. He asked me to get him the model and serial numbers over the phone which I did so he could bring some partsand possibly fix it in one trip. He said he would come at 8:30 am Monday morning. In the mean time, I went to Kroger and bought 20 pounds of dry ice and put it in the freezer which was full of frozen foods. Glenn showed up the next morning when he said he would and went to work trouble shooting the refigerator/freezer. He found a bad starter/capacitor and showed me where it had melted down. Fortunately, because he had gotten me to give him the model and serial numbers of the fridge, he brought appropriate parts with him and had a replacement on his truck. He installed the new part and put the unit back together. The unit worked perfectly after he was through with it. The dry ice had kept the freezer contents frozen and cooled the refrigerator side so we did not have anything deteriorate and we did not have to through away any food. We were very pleased with the quality of his work and would not hesitate to call him again over anyone else.

I hired him after finding him on Angie’s List. After diagnosing the problem, he picked up the part that day and was able to install it. From start to finish, the repair took less than three hours. They did really good job with the repair.

Our gas stovetop had issues starting...turns out switches were bad. He was able to replace the switches for $275 and we received another quote from someone else for $500. He was awesome and fixed in quickly. I will definitely use them in the future. A negative was he did show up a couple of hours late but when I called him, he explained why he was running late.

He was flexible and worked with us to set an appointment time that worked in our schedules.

What a great way to start the day - you smell something not right and trace it to the laundry room and there is water standing in the washing machine. Nothing worked but it would 'hum' and that was all. Called Glenn Townsend and described what was going on and he was here within an hour. I'm not sure what all he did - replaced one part inside - maybe it was two. Plus, he replaced the hot water hose to the washing machine and also fixed something wrong with the agitator. In other words, he looked it all over and made sure everything was working before he left.

Arrived within 2 hours of initial call. Examined the fridge inside, and then in back. Reviewed problems with fridge and told me it would be cheaper to buy a new one. Pleasant, courteous, and with a 15 year old fridge, I trust that he told me the truth. Charged me $35 service call.

I called Saturday morning at 9am and spoke to Mr, Townsend. He said a repairman will call soon. Received a call 30 minutes later. Repairman was at our house at noon. Very neat a professional. Will recommend to my friends and family.

I called Glenn in the morning and discussed the problem we were having with our refrigerator. He determined what he thought the problem was and told me he would get back to me. He phoned back later that morning and was able to head over the same day. He basically defrosted out freezer, but it got the fridge back to working properly and he worked quickly. Be ready to empty out your own freezer and maybe grab him a stool! Had a little clean up after he left, but not much to complain about with a job well done. Glenn is a little unconventional, but I'm sure I could have been charged more for the same job by another repair service. I would call him again.

Slight delay (one day) because of delivery error of parts supplier, but Glenn Townsend notified us promptly and provided service the next day. Very responsive.

???????I still don't have anyone to repair the oven door.... or the dishwasher...

It ended up costing less than I thought. It has been several months now and the washing machine is still working just fine.

He didn't come out to my house, but will keep his name and number for other appliances. It was very nice of him to take time out of his day to speak to me and advise me.

I called Glenn Sr first thing Saturday morning (about 8:30am) and he asked me what problem I was having and then asked me for the model # of the dryer. Luckily I had read a few other reviews before calling him so I knew to have the model # ready. Glenn told me that he would have his son call me to schedule an appointment since his son services the area where I live (N Dallas). Glenn Jr. called me about 30 minutes later and said he would be by around 12:00pm. I asked him to give me a call when he was on his way. He called me about 11:45 and told me he was on his way and arrived a few minutes before 12:00. I showed Glenn the dryer and he listened to the noise it was making and his first thought was that one of the rollers was either bad or stuck. I was a little concerned because he didn't seem to have much experience with this particular model and he had a hard time opening/removing some of the panels on the dryer to open it up. He was able to get it all dismantled and discovered that it was not any of the four rollers. So his next thought was that it would be the roller that the belt goes over (not sure of the official name of this part). He removed the roller and said he would have to go to the parts house to get that part. So he left around 12:40ish and went to buy the part. He returned about an hour later and put the new roller in and started to put the dryer back together. He tested the dryer before putting it all back together and it worked fine...no more squealing. So he put it all back together and tested it again and everything worked great. I have since dried about 5 loads of laundry and haven't had any problems. Glenn was nice enough to leave me with an extra roller in case one of the four did go bad (I told him that I could open up the dryer and replace it if needed). Also while putting the dryer back together, I asked him if he could go ahead and replace the belt since everything was dismantled already. He agreed and did it...it was a pretty simple process for him and only added about 3-5 minutes of extra time to the job. Glenn was nice, courteous, and friendly. However he showed up in some sweat pants and a sweatshirt...not the most professional appearance. Glen told me that he had been doing appliance repairs for about 2 years and that his dad had been doing appliance repairs for over 40 years. I could tell he didn't have a whole lot of experience but I guess the only way to get experience is to go out and do the work. In the end he got the job done and the price was reasonable. One last thought...since I gave Glenn Sr. the model # of my dryer and he and his son both had a general idea of what the problem probably was, I think they could have saved themselves (and me) some time by having brought the parts to my house instead of leaving to go purchase them. Glenn Jr. discovered that Maytag sells a repair kit that has all of the rollers and a belt in one package...which is what he purchased.
