Glenn Townsend - Glenn's Appliance Repair

We sent an e-mail on a Sunday night after 9 p.m. and he replied right away. We got in touch with him by phone on a Monday and gave him all the info over the phone. He then told us it would cost about $500 to fix the washing machine so we decided to get a new one instead. We appreciate his honestly and efficiency and will certainly use him in the future.

Called Glenn's about noon today and they were out within the hour to diagnose the issue with my Whirlpool dishwasher. Circuit panel - left to pick up part - back in one hour and ran through short wash after he replaced the panel. Part came with 6 month warranty. All fixed in one afternoon!

Called Glenn, he said he would be at my place when I go off work, he was there waiting. He had quoted me the price on the phone and that is what he charged. Came in, fixed the problem. Easy. Definitely would recommend him to anyone.

When my fridge water dispenser stopped working, I spoke with Glenn over the phone first to troubleshoot the issue. After other possible issues were ruled out, he made an appointment with me and his son arrived the next day to do further diagnosis and replace the assembly. I appreciate their thoroughness and professionalism!

I called Glenn about 3 hours ago and he has come and gone and I am doing laundry once again. Fast response I am thoroughly impressed with not only the quick response, but the knowledge of my problem and the price. I could not have asked for a better outcome. Fantastic service professionals, you will not regret hiring them.

We noticed a peculiar smell from the refridgerator last night and the noticed things in the freezer were starting to soften. Found Glenn on AL and a HOA website. Called him first thing this morning. He got to us this afternoon, diagnosed the issue and repaired the Kenmore in no time. Thanks Glenn!

We called in the morning and within 5 minutes we received a returned phone call letting us know someone was on the way. About30 minutes later the tech arrived and had the problem diagnosed within 15 minutes. He was friendly, courteous and very knowledgeable on the fridge.

Glenn came out on a Sunday morning. We scheduled it for 8am, he called at 730am to check that 8am was still okay. He arrived at 8am if not a little before. I very much appreciated that he came out on a Sunday morning to help us with our refrigerator.

It turned out pretty good. He was very prompt and he did his job. He was very professional.

Everything went well and my dryer is working perfectly. I would, without question, use Glenn again and would recommend him to anyone needing an appliance serviced.

My refrigerator suddenly (on Saturday evening) began defrosting, dripping water everywhere, and not cooling. GE factory repair was pleasant, but couldn't give me an appointment until the following Thursday! I immediately went to Angie's List and called about 8 providers with good ratings. Glenn Sr. returned my call immediately (the other 7 have yet to call back). A few minutes later his son, Glenn Jr called and scheduled an appointment for Sunday AM. It is only 11:15 and the work is DONE! He was pleasant, arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, had the part with him (a defroster timer), replaced it AND the cost was reasonable. I will definitely use this company again and recommend it to all you Angie's List users.

Pros: Timely response. Cons: Bad appearance, testy attitude, bad personal hygiene. Here for 10 minutes, offered no solutions other than buy another one. Charged $35.00. I thought it might be prudent to offer me some discount ($ 5 -10) on service call since it was so short and offered no suggestions or solution of repair. Did not motivate me to become repeat customer. Heard since then of very similar experience with neighbor in similar situation although she was given discount on first service call but also with no resolution other than here's my refrigerator magnet.

I called Glenn on Wednesday evening and he came out first thing on Thursday. My freezer was not freezing and my dishwasher had a leak. He advised me, based on the age of my dishwasher, to replace it rather than fix it. Also, I had cleaned the freezer coils before he came out. The freezer began to work again. He suggested that this may have resolved the problem. His expertise was very helpful.

Mr. Townsend nearly figured out what was wrong over the phone. After I answered the questions about model name and number, he had me check the filter, outlet, and cord. Since it wouldn't come on at all, he thought the electrical board must be gone and checked on the availability of the part. Expensive, right? An hour later, he called and said he'd come by shortly since I was home and see if he could at least get the door to open so my sheets wouldn't mildew. To make a long story short, he diagnosed my problem as an extension cord that was not heavy-gauge. Got the washer running and told me I needed a 14 guage extension cord from the hardware store so it wouldn't happen again. He spent over an hour and only charged me $50 labor. Quite a deal, I thought. Be prepared to answer his questions loudly and clearly, over the telephone at least. He's one of the old-time professionals who don't want you to spend more than you have to. I'd call him again anytime!

My refrigerator/freezer quit working on Monday, I called two AC repairmen, one from Angie's list and another I had used in the past. Neither of them even bothered to return my call. On Tuesday I got back on Angie;s list and picked Glen. Glen actually answered the phone and asked some key questions on the issue. It was his son's territory and that is was likely who would come. He called back a bit later, to give me an estimate on cost and told me he could be over in 20minutes as his son was booked. Well it was a bit longer than 20 minutes but he showed up like he said he would and very quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. I found Glenn to be a charming, older man. He knew what he was doing, and he worked fast. The cost was $150 which is more than I thought it would cost, but after not getting a response from two others I didn't blink. Glenn was responsive, fast, and got the job done correctly. When his son couldn't come, he came himself. I would definitely use and recommend Glenn again. My fridge is working now and i am happy.

Problem was that the washer would go through all cycles except the spin cycle. After watching a dozen U-Tube videos and trying to fix my washer myself, I called a couple repairmen. Glenn listened to all I had done and tested on my machine (verified coupler was good, the clutch was good and the lid switch was good). He did some research on my machine and called me back, we did a couple of additional test and then he said the probable cause was the timer. He told be that my machine was a model worth saving, but I decided to buy a new washer anyway. It was refreshing to talk to someone that was really interested in listening to me, a mechanical type guy who did everything execpt open heart surgery on my washing machine, but I wasn't a washing machine repairman. I am writing this review as a thank you for talking to me, I appreciate the time you gave me.

Mr. Townsend was extremely knowledgeable, creative, and thoughtful as he diagnosed my dryer's problem. He even kept thinking about the problem after he had acquired a replacement motor, calling me back to ask more questions and ultimately to ascertain that the problem was not in fact the motor. Then he acquired another replacement part (the board). When he returned to my house, he brought a loaner dryer to leave with me in case he couldn't solve the problem that day. Finally he only had to make alterations to the ventilation, and this solved the problem! So I never had to buy an additional part, I only paid for his labor. He also came to my house two days earlier than planned, and on a Saturday no less, showing dedication and generosity. I am so grateful to Glenn. Service and dedication to a job well done is hard to come by these days!

He guessed the trouble over the phone and gave me an estimate. It was right on target and he replaced the part (Lid Switch). Immediately the washer was operational. He charged what he said and responded promptly to a Friday evening call. He was there Saturday by 11:00. Problem fixed. I am happy. Back doing the weeks washing quickly.

This provider by far was the most unprofessional vendor I have dealt with! There was a constant lack if communication with myself- the homeowner VS my tenant. It took them 4 days to complete a simple repair on the refrigerator. The dishwasher was never fixed (after they told me they had ordered a new part) for which they initially wanted to charge a total of $300 for both repairs. After multiple calls to the vendor (each time I got asked my name and phone number again) ;It was only after a firm conversation with Townsend junior that the bill was reduced to $ 150. I haven't even mentioned the use of a bathroom, the 2 trips to get a part, the rude Sr Townsend on his first visit to my tenants ... I could go on and on Sorry way to do business!

I am submitting this review for Glenn because, even though I didn't use his services, he still deserves a review for the consultation. What is refreshing with Glenn is that he is direct and matter of fact. When I called him, he got straight to business. I gave him my issue, he asked some questions and gave me his initial thought of the problem based on his experience and the questions I answered. I gave him the model information he asked for and he called back within a few minutes with a cost on the job. I ended up being able to address the issue myself, instead of having to replace the part in question, it had simply slipped and I was able to put it back in place and my machine works like a charm. If anything ever happens to another machine in my house, Glenn's WILL be my first call. Thanks for shooting straight and getting right to the point, sir!

I called Glenn on June 2. He arrived as promised on June 3 to look at our 21-year old dishwasher that was not getting enough water to wash the dishes during a cycle. After about 30 seconds of running the washer, he diagnosed the problem as a stuck piston. He removed the front of the machine, but discovered he did not have that specifc part on hand. He left to order the part, then called to tell me it would not be in until the next day. He returned the morning of June 4, worked very hard removing the old part, installed the new part, and started the dishwasher. Sure enough, it works fine!

Same day service. Another repair person suggested the dishwasher be replaced. All that was needed was to release the standing water inside the dishwasher and it operated beautifully. What a savings!

We give him all A's across the board. I spent about $175.
