As much as one can enjoy having half the house moved to the other half of the house for several days, I enjoyed this experience :-) Zach came to our home several times with samples which was great. We had seen the tile look laminate for the kitchen somewhere else but he hadn't heard of it - he found it for us! Email communication was good - I didn't feel overwhelmed with too many messages and still felt totally informed. The actual install went smoothly (Mario) - it took 4 days to complete all the areas. Everyone arrived when planned and was considerate - telling us when they were leaving for lunch or the day. Zach came by at the beginning to make sure we were all in agreement on the plan and then he came part way through to see things. We had gotten an estimate from a local contractor prior to this experience and our costs with Carrol Johns were lower. Other than that, I didn't do price comparison. I felt comfortable with the service I was getting and proceeded. Also, I had used the Angie's List reviews and saw that Carrol Johns had been used by people in my neighborhood which I liked knowing.

I first researched Angie's List for a contractor with all 'A' ratings; that would bring Carrol Johns Flooring to the top of the list. Friendly office personnel scheduled Michael to come out for an estimate. Michael measured, and also brought appropriate samples of tile and grout which saved us the effort of going shopping. He quoted the job from 'soup to nuts' and emailed the quote the next morning. Half down, other half when job is completed. Installation was scheduled for the following Monday...only glich in the job was that they didn't have enough tile in stock that I had selected, and it had to be reordered, and rescheduled...and rescheduled again. Most jobs have a deadline, and ours was no exception due to the fact that new tenants were moving in regardless. Carrol Johns promised that the job would be done in time, and it was. The professional crew accomplished the task all in one day, and it looks fantastic. We will definitely use this company again in the future.

A representative came to talk with me about the work I wanted to have done very quickly after I called Carrol Johns. It was a curved hardwood staircase and an additional set of 3 steps leading to a study. There were lots of options, such as wheter to carpet the risers or not, etc. The Sales representative (Michael Potash) was very knowedgable about how this type of thing is usually done which was helpful, and we were able to make decisions such as how much of the steps would be covered, and whether the bottom, decorative step would be covered. I received an estimate promptly, and was able to schedule the work to be done within a week. The installation went very well and I was pleased with the installers (Vicente and Paco). They were courteous, knowledgable, and did a really nice job. The Sales rep, Michael came by during the installation to make sure all was going well, and followed up afterward. I worked from home that day, and they were very accommodating if I had to start a conference call, and sometimes had to wait for me to answer a question. All in all, working with Carrol Johns was a pleasure and I would recommend them Ed and Andy

Michael estimated the area to be repaired and refinished. He was prompt and professional, and the price range was very good compared to another estimate. The crew was a bit late getting started, but then the team swarmed in and quickly got things torn out. The damage was a bit more than we hoped, but within the estimate. The wood was delivered the next day and the repairs and refinishing started 4 days later and finished within 2 days, as the stain and 2 coats of poly needed to dry. The finished product is beautiful and puts our other floors to shame. They fine sanded/buffed after every step and the board joints are barely visible. The new wood blends in perfectly and the color match was spot on. The crew even spent a couple hours cleaning up all the dust and moving furniture back for us. We dreaded having the floors refinished while living in the space, but the Carrol Johns team was experienced and made the whole process not nearly as bad as we expected. I give them high marks overall, along with being value priced.

A big box store we had used before dropped the ball. They sent someone to measure and give an estimate, but balked at bringing flooring samples to house. Carrol Johns came to the house with flooring samples, measured, and gave an estimate that beat the big box. On installation day, his staff showed up on time, moved a heavy dining room set out of the room, installed the floor, and moved the furniture back. They were pleasant, but all business. They did their job with precision and kept working - they were professionals who knew what they were doing. The floor looks great; it was a positive experience all around.

Please note. I only give A's for exceptional above and beyond service. Overall: Good experiance with Carrol Johns. For anyone else looking to replace residential carpeting I highly recommend contacting at least FIVE flooring companies as many don't like residential carpet jobs. Carrol Johns was one of the few willing to do business. Price: Good but tad on expensive side as a result of the upgraded padding we wanted. No discounts were offerred and none were asked for. Quality: Carpet has only been down for less then a week at time of review. However after one thourough vacuuming and not getting a vacuum full of carpet fuzzies I'm more impressed with this carpet then what was intially installed by the builder. Responsiveness: Good, but once again we felt like since our house was such a small job (comparatively at ~1200 sq ft) that we were not a high priority on anyone's list. Punctuality: This one I'll give an "A" on. They were very prompt. Any delays (just one and it was minimal) were well communicated. Crew was supposed to show up between 8:30 and 9:30am and they arrived right at 9:00am and went straight to work. Professionalism: Good but to be blunt I really don't expect ties and suits for any service oriented industry. However they did not talk down to us, as some "experts" tend to do, and answered all our questions.

This is my first experience using Angie's List. My job is a little strange, I guess. When I walk upstairs and step onto the landing, it creaks and pops. This was also occurring in a small section in one upstairs bedroom. Also, one place had uneven boards. Michael came and estimated the cost of the job with a best and worst case scenario , as they wouldn't exactly know what was required until the carpet was pulled back. The workmen came as scheduled. They cut and pulled back the carpet and quickly ascertained that the builder had used nails instead of screws to mount the boards. The worker put SO many screws, and even pulled out the nails as necessary. Then, he leveled the boards as necessary and floated the whole area and put the carpet back. They even vacuumed the area. Wow! What a huge difference! Now I don't need to tiptoe when going upstairs. The areas fixed are completely quiet. They came and finished the job that the builders neglected 17 years ago. I am VERY pleased.

Awesome quality of installation and very friendly workers. We will use them again. The job was done expertly with great care taken with our belongings. It was great. They did everything we asked for, we priced another top-rated flooring company on Angies List and another not on the list (three estimates altogether, as recommended by Angies List) and they were the best price of the three, but the good ratings on Angies were a major factor, too - the tile has to look good, afterall, and it looks great! From the very initial contact, Carroll Johns Flooring did a great job.Don Potash, sales rep, was very responsive and professional. He was very willing to meet us after business hours and brought samples for us to select, meeting us at places and times convenient to us. He was open and upfront about everything involved, explaining everything to us - very personable and a pleasure to work with, extremely patient, not pushy at all, no pressure or anything like so many sales people - made us feel very comfortable about the whole process of selecting the tile, the grout etc. (I had wished I could see some of the tiles we decided on so I could lay them out in my kitchen just to be sure, and Don said he would contact Mohawk to try to get some. A couple of days later I got an email from him - he had gone on a planned family vacation, but managed very early in the morning before leaving to drive all the way out to our house first and had left a box of tile on my front stoop!! Talk about going the extra mile! My wife and I then laid these out in both a square and diagonal pattern in the kitchen, and decided the tile choice was perfect for us! [We went with diagonal in the kitchen and master bath, square pattern in the two smaller bathrooms.]) The job took 2 1/2 days for everything - it went by very fast! Don followed through with everything promised. The employees who installed the tile - Vincent and Paco - were very prompt, meticulous, professional, and nice! Excellent at their craft! The price was very reasonable. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the results! I would highly recommend this company, without reservation!

We had just moved into a new house and had a water leak from an ice machine. It damaged and warped the hardwood flooring on about 20% of our wood floor. We called 3 flooring places to get bid and Carrol Johns had the best quote. They suggested that we should not replace the entire floor, only the damaged portions. They came in and pulled up the old damaged wood, put down new plywood sub floor and new hardwoods. Sanded down the new and old wood, stained and sealed it all to match. They even fixed a few squeaky spots in the floor we already had. Overall very satisfied with the work, there was some delay for them getting out to start the job, but once it got going, they went through very quickly.

Awesome quality of installation and very friendly workers. The installed carpet in all bedrooms and also fixed mistakes and bad quality that another flooring contractor had done on the laminate. Now we wished we'd had them do ALL our flooring work. We will have them back to fix more areas of flooring in our home that another company didn't do correclty.

The job was done expertly with great care taken with our furniture. They even did more than we expected by re-stretching the carpeting in the closets and moving all our stuff for us. We will definitely use them for flooring options in the future.

It was great. They did everything we asked for, we priced everybody and they were the best price. They were very friendly and they made sure that we were happy with everything and that was really good. I know the price is better than everybody else.

Originally they thought it was going to take at least two days to remove the existing wood floor and prep it, then lay the tile. But they completed the work all in one day. I was a little worried that the grout wouldn't have time to set, but we've not noticed any problems with the tile. The did an excellent job making sure there were no voids between the floor and the wall, even in the pantry where it wouldn't be seen.

He was very willing to meet us after business hours and brought samples for us to select. During the first meeting, he didn't have quite the color samples we had in mind. Within a day or two, he called and said he found the color for us. He followed through with everything promised. The employees who installed the carpeting were very prompt, meticulous and professional. The price was very reasonable. I would highly recommend this company.

Service was excellent from all. I was needing to get this done while on vacation, which they tried and did accommodate me on. Floor looks great! In the next 6 months, we are planning to do the whole house.

We called CJF on Tuesday, 7/3 to request a bid for installing and refinishing floors in a house we just bought. They were able to come out at the time we requested the following Monday. Michael was very punctual and responsive. He listened to our plans carefully and was willing to work with our tight deadline. We walked through the entire house explaining exactly what we wanted, which would be a difficult job due to installing hardwoods throughout the whole house while trying to live there, but he was confident none of it would be a problem. We went with another company that had a slightly lower bid, which Michael then offered to take to upper management to see if they would match. In the end, however, we had already informed the other company of our intentions to use them, which he completely understood. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to refinish or install hardwood flooring.

They were great and they were really good!

CJF came out and was extremely knowledgable. They had a sample that was a great match to what we already had. Based on the small size of the area we opted to go with a provider that did not have a "minimum" but were very impressed and plan to contact CJF when we are ready to replace the carpet in the whole house.

The serviceman shoed on time; and, was very personable. The patch fits nicely. Thanks.

Called to get an estimate and within a couple days Michael was able to come out and measure and provide the estimate. With a few days they were able to get me on the schedule and come out within a week or so and complete the job. They showed up on time, were very professional during the job, and were able to complete the work within the estimated time. Once the work was complete, I was very pleased with the quality of the workmanship and the attention to detail they showed during the work. We are planning on performing some additional work on the kitchen and living room in the future and we will definitely be contacting Carrol Johns to do that work as well.

The installation was smooth and efficient.

Contacted the company, operator took some basic info. A sales person called me back about an hour later. I explained my needs and my desperate timeline I called them on a Wednesday and I needed carpet installed no later than Sunday. They were able to install on Saturday morning! I checked several other places before finding Carrol Johns Flooring on Angie's list and they all said 2- 3 week delay. This company was able to give me what I needed on MY schedule. Two installers arrived as scheduled and were wearing Carrol Johns Flooring and had a pick up with carpet, so I knew they were the right guys. The 2 gentlemen worked quickly and did a very nice job. They were very detailed. There was a cut out around a fireplace they had to work around. I am very please with the entire experience of working with this company. Everything went well and my carpet is perfect!

Extremely professional and friendly service. Met with all contractors. They were prompt and kept me informed as the job progressed. Owner worked his schedule to accommodate my need for a quick turnaround. Very satisfied with the attention given to my small home. Called to inquire and arrange an estimate. Within 2 days Michael came out in the evening with samples and measured the areas. He was very professional and knowlegable and answered all our questions. Within a few days they started on our project. It only took them 6 hrs to remove our old ceramic tile from hallway and kitchen. The following days they installed the laminate flooring. I was so pleased with the work I asked them to retile my porch and it looks fabulous. They helped move furniture and cleaned up at the end of each day. I highly recommend this company if you are looking for experts in flooring
