COX LOCKS & KEYS

I work in Real Estate and have a property we need to get access to. I called Cox Locks and Keys today to get a quote on getting a digital keypad reset on a gate to a property as well as the doors rekeyed. Matt Cox explained that we needed an access control company to help us as it's a proximity access control and a more complicated than a lock and key. Matt Cox not only referred us to an access control company but he took the time to call them first to confirm they could help us and explained what we needed then called me back to give me their information. He gained nothing out of it and still took the time to go above and beyond to help us. That is unheard of these days.. I can't tell you how much that meant and we will never forget that level of customer service and kindness. Thank you Matt!!

I called Wednesday (4/20) and scheduled an advanced appointment for an onsite service to re-key 4 locks on my new travel trailer. I was given the date of today (Friday 4/22) with technician arrival between 10a-11a. I received a call this morning (fri) at 9:31a asking me for the numbers on my existing keys to ensure that they can change them. At that time, I was reassured that a technician would still arrive between 10a - 11a. I called the office at 11:10a and asked where the technician was. I explained that I made advanced reservations and am waiting. I was told at THAT time that the technician is in the area finishing a job and if I had errands to run, to do so and the technician would meet me at my house when he's ready.

During that phone call she said (basically) the following:
1. When she saw my order this week and saw that it was a trailer, this is unusual for them and didn't know if they could accommodate. *No phone call was made to me this week to explain this. She also didn't explain this at 9:31a today.

2. She said this type of job requires the removal of the lock, taking the locks to the shop, and then returning after 2-3 hours to reinstall. At this time, I said that was fine, as long as it is finished today, when we had agreed to the appointment time. *No phone call was made to me this week to explain this. She also didn't explain this at 9:31a today.

As a customer, I was explaining to her why I called them. She then explained to me that they are a small family business (which I acknowledge and told her that is one of the reasons that I contracted with them) and told me that there is a family member in the hospital.

Bottom Line: I am sympathetic to family emergencies - truly. This company had every opportunity to let me know of possible delays when they called at 9:31a this morning. Nothing was said to that effect. She ONLY told me about a family emergency when I pressed her for arrival time and follow through.

*** Her ending statement to me was: "IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, YOU CAN COME HERE AND SHOOT ME"! AND THEN SHE HUNG UP ON ME. Literally. I understand that this is stress talking. I expect a call back and apology and I will continue as if nothing happened. This is not how you run a business.

Super nice people and I would do business with them again. There were some scheduling issues -which they admitted were their fault- and to compensate, did not charge me for extra keys for the doors. They came highly recommended and all in all, I'm very pleased. I'd definitely recommend them and would certainly contact them again first, if I ever need further locksmithing work.

My husband called at the end of the business day for our locks to be replaced and they scheduled a house call for the next morning. Matthew was professional and friendly and completed the job in a timely manner. He offered to look at our garage door b/c we have trouble locking and latching the door. Turns out we installed it incorrectly and he corrected it at no charge. As far as price goes, we didn't know what to expect and our cost was close to what we were guessed would be reasonable. We will definitely use them again and recommend their services to others.

They are great, and they are very good. I haven' taken anything to them that they couldn't deal with. They have been around a long time. I would recommend them to others.

The Cox Lock and Key shop is a couple of blocks from my property, a 1930s home in a historic district. The front door knob was stuck and the door couldn't be opened. I stopped by the shop on Friday afternoon and made an appointment for first thing Monday morning. The technicians were able to open the door and replace the pin and knobs, making the original hardware functional again. They were very helpful explaining the details of the mechanism and how to best handle it to avoid future jams.

The contact phone person was great to work with. I work and can't get away during normal business hours but the phone person helped me choose three deadbolts which turned out to be exactly what I want. The service person showed up promptly even calling to say he was on his way. Once there he promptly installed all deadbolts even though there had been some previous amateur work to contend with. All were courteous and pleasant. I don't know if the price is reasonable since I have never had this type of work done before but I still have some hardware to replace and will be going back to Cox's. I'm late with my review because I expected to have them back before now.

I bought a 1963 VW Bug. I wanted to have spare keys made. I went to the shop. The woman researched for me which key blank I needed. There are several styles for the bug. She then ordered blanks. She had to order several blanks to obtain the blanks I needed. She didnt charge me for the extra blanks. They worked perfectly. She has also cut house keys that have worked without issues. I would highly recommend them. Nice, helpful.

It went very well. Our technicians were courteous and very helpful. They did the work and identified other issues. We were very pleased with the service.

Great. We ordered our new locks and hardware from them and they came to deliver and install. They also repaired another lock at our house.

I HAVE GONE THERE OVER 10 YEARS AND THEY ARE HONEST AND NICE PEOPLE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS.
