Working with Jeff was very easy. He returns calls promptly and was quick to provide an estimate. He answered all my questions patiently and made sure that I was satisfied with the work. His crew was on time and worked diligently to complete the job quickly. They cleaned up when they were done and placed everything at the curb for us. Definitely recommend!

Had 5 trees removed and others trimmed. Was done as promised in timely manner. Even trimmed others I had not asked about that needed it. All stacked in front for city to pick up. Very good job.

I called Jeff shortly after 8am and explained my situation. He asked me to send him some pictures of the damage tree if possible. I sent him the pictures and within an hour he gave me a very fair estimate. Although his crews were already booked for the day he was able to rearrange their work load and his crews arrived at 3:00 pm the same day. The work performed was excellent and they took a great deal of time to clean up after. I will definitely use Castro's Tree Service in the future. Great experience.

I contacted Jeff to clean up three very large red oaks that needed to help. I was very pleased with my previous experience with Jeff and was impressed again. He was quick to provide an estimate and knew which week would be best to perform the work so that I could use the bulk trash service rather than have it hauled away. Jeff kept me up to date with his progress and gave me several reminder and follow-up text messages and phone calls. His team did an excellent job, and they raked and swept my front yard, back yard, and porch. As long as I live in Dallas, Jeff will be my go-to guy for my tree trimming. I highly recommend him.

Jeff responded promptly to my inquiry. Requested photos and gave a verbal estimate based on them. Scheduled work for the next morning. His crew arrived on time. Reaffirmed estimate after physically assessing work to be done. Efficiently completed work , cleaned up all debris and hauled it away. Crew was polite, helpful, professional, and I liked the fact that they all wore tee-shirts identifying them as Castro Tree Service workers. Recommend and will definitely use them again.

Terrific guy. Jeff came and looked at my trees and told me they were sick and gave me suggestions. Very helpful and honest. He could have trimmed my trees and not told me they were dying but instead he took the time to give me advice on how to save the trees. I tried to pay but he would not take it. I will definitely use him in the future.

Fast workers, in & out. They even cleaned up after themselves.

Jeff sent a couple of his guys to come out promptly to remove the tree. At first they tried to remove the entire tree and roots but it was too big. They ended up cutting down the tree and then grinding the stump. They did a good job of cleaning up and removing any debris.

I contacted Jeff Castro and he responded very quickly. He came out to the house to assess the trees and gave us an estimate. He then sent his crew out to trim the first tree which was a real challenge, but they did a very good job and we were pleased. I contacted Jeff again when we were ready to do the second tree and he responded immediately and sent the crew out in two days. They did an equally nice job on the second tree. The trees look great. They put all the debris at the curb and the City picked it up the next day. I would call them again and recommend them to others needing tree work.

I was very pleased with Castro's Tree Service from start to finish. Jeff, the owner, contacted me in a timely manner after I placed a phone call to him. He came to my home and gave me a fair and honest estimate with suggestions how to trim and thin three large Live Oak trees that were overtaking the yard. His crew of four men showed up on time and were very professional and courteous. Each man worked on a tree while one supervised from the ground...very efficient. I could tell these guys knew how to cut and trim trees to look symmetrical and let light get through to the grass...they are professionals! The work was done the day before trash day, so the branches were piled in neat short stacks. All in all, a good experience! I highly recommend Castro's Tree Service.

Had multiple quotes from Angie's list, all seemed to be right around each other. Jeff's work was more expensive, BUT I can tell the quality of the work is much better then I would have received elsewhere. Pick Jeff, if you value quality over price. If you don't care what your yard looks like, or if you are just looking at a basic cut, you could probably go elsewhere for cheaper. If you like a more artistic specialized cut in your Tree, Castro is your man. I have 5 MASSIVE oak trees that Jeff cleaned up and they look amazing now. Very nice, will use him again in the future.

We had one medium-sized tree limb high up in our pecan tree, left over from when the ice storm hit. It was pretty high up and over the house, hence the need to call a professional. Jeff's folks came out and took care of it with ease. They were careful and skillful.

Jeff responded to my request promptly and gave me an initial estimate over the phone. His price was very competitive. We later refined the estimate, coordinated a service date to coincide with neighborhood brush pickup and scheduled the service date, His workers arrived at the promised time, surveyed the yard with me, and immediately began work. I should also mention that his company is insured and bonded. They did a superb job!. The trees were trimmed, stumps ground, and the shrubs removed in a very professional fashion. They neatly stacked the brush for city pickup and left my yard clean of any debris. I highly recommend their service!

Mr. Castro was prompt in returning my call and we set up a time to get an estimate. He was on time and explained what all would be required. We set a mutually convenient time to have the work done and he and his crew showed up exactly when expected. One very large tree which had branches over my neighbor's driveway was removed and a stump grinder was also used, although he had to subcontract this part. Two other large trees and a smaller one had heavy pruning done to remove damaged limbs and limbs that were over my roof. Also, I have severely overgrown hedges on two sides of my back yard that were removed. All of the debris was cut into small limbs and stacked near the front curb so it could be picked up by the city trash collectors the following Monday. The yard was left very clean and Mr. Castro came back to make sure everything that I wanted done was completed, which it was. The only negative is that he did not have trash removal, which I would have preferred. However, they did such a good job in stacking that it wasn't really a problem, plus it saved me some money. My home was the third on our street that he has done. After his name was given to me by my neighbor, I noticed that he was also on Angie's list, so that made it a done deal. I will definitely use him again when I need tree work done.

Very prompt in responding to my service request. Provided 1st quote based on the picture i sent to him of the 25ft tree to be cut down. On the day - the team was 1 hour early and made good work in getting the tree cut and all the limbs removed (for small additional fee). They cleaned up after themselves and we even nice enough to trim down another stump in my garden closer to the ground. Overall - very happy with the service.

I found Jeff in Angie's list and called him for an estimate. Jeff provided a reasonable estimate which was about 1/3 less than another Angie's list provider. I don't live in Dallas anymore, but my rental property is there so Jeff took the time to make sure that my questions were answered and to address concerns I had about the property. Jeff was patient with my requests and the tenant's input and in all it was a very good experience. ( I didn't want too much taken off, but enough to keep the trees at bay for another season). The tenant even commented that they did a fantastic job.

Trees now look great. Jeff and crew were prompt and are very knowledgeable about trees. Left the property clean.

I give them an average rating. They may have cut too much and they informed me afterwards that one of the trees was diseased but they didn?t clean it off from the other trees so they probably passed the disease from one tree to the other. They were expensive for what they do. They left all their stuff and didn?t clean up. 10-03-14 The 1st review above was taken by Angies List over the phone, I did not review it at the time and it has some errors. I will speak to them about this. I am reviewing it now because I have had many large branches fall on my house and property for the second time this year as a result of a storms and wish other customers to read my experience. Castro did spend an hour at my property the day he first called, this was because he had me wait 30 mins while he took 3 calls. After the his team and the others he contracted finished the job, branches were left and not removed. This was by mutual agreement in order to lower the price. He promised to leave branches cut into manageable pieces and in neat piles by the end of the day. Huge branches were left and the piles were not neat and well stacked. The city left me with a days work with all the small stuff they did not pick up and ended up being blown across my property. The smaller leaves and twigs were not bundled and placed onto the larger branches as Castro promised. Castro's men found some brown leaves on one of the trees which they though might be infected. He informed me of at the end of the day. His men should have cleaned their tools before cutting the other trees so as not to pass possible infection to another tree..they did not! I had a certified professional arborist take a look at my trees soon after Castro cut them. I was told that the trees had been over trimmed. The arbouristy explained to me that new leaves would grow in the spring just at the ends of branches resulting in long limbs with heavy weight at the end prone to breaking. Sure enough they were right. Both yesterday and at the beginning of summer a strong wind came through our neighborhood, I lost dozens of large branches that have caused extensive damage to my property. I have taken pictures of the damage and noted that none of my neighbors have lost any significant branches. Castro called me after the review was placed on Angie's list and his tone was intimidating to say the least. He told me how all his customers often rang to thank him after bad weather as they never suffered downed branches. He was not apologetic in any way, only worried about the review. I told him that I had had large branches down after a recent windy day. and that, because of the way he left the piles of branches on my property the city left me with lots of small leaves and branches across my property. I also asked him that, when his workers had spotted the potential infected branches, why didn't they cleaned their tools before cutting the other trees on my property so as not to spread infection? He had no answer and hung up! I have no doubt that Castro is able to get the job done quick and efficiently, however, through my experiece with him and the quantity of damage received over the last 12 months I question his knowledge and manner. I would also add that my trees are extremely healthy.

A terrific experience all-around. I called on a Friday afternoon, and owner Jeff Castro said he would stop by on Saturday, but pushed back his lunch and gave me an estimate, in person, 90 minutes after I called on Friday. He was very helpful in assessing the work needed on my trees, which were 20-30 feet tall, and gave me several options about whether I should remove some damaged trees, or give them a chance to grow back. I was really impressed by his 4-man crew, which was very experienced. A telephone line was strung through the branches of one dead tree, and a power line was just a few feet away. However, the crew brought down the tree without damaging the lines, my house or my wooden fence, which was 6 inches from the tree trunk. The crew arrived on time Monday morning, as promised, and was finished 5 hours later. They cleaned up the yard of all felled branches, stacked the wood at the curb, and even used their leaf blower to clear the roof of debris and sawdust. I would hire them again in a second.

Jeff called the same day I contacted him and he was out the next day to a**** the property to give me a quote. Gave a great rate and he was able to so the work the next day. We had a few calls between the two of us and he was very friendly and professional. Gave me a few tips on the remaining trees in the yard on where they could be placed and what else could use some work. Not trying to sell other services. Good guy.
