We had a large silver maple in our back yard that needed to be taken down. I had an initial conversation with Jeff in which he asked me to take cell phone shots of the tree in question and he gave me an estimate based on the photos and we set up an initial time for he and his crew to take the tree down. Due to a scheduling snafu created by me, Jeff had the crew assembled for this first date and was not able to do the job because I was out of town. However, he was patient, he did an additional on-site inspection, we rescheduled the date and, at the appointed time, he showed up with his crew and removed the tree safely in under 3 hours. He hauled the wood away and spread the wood chips for mulch in the front yard. He was professional, thorough and efficient.

Called to get a quote for taking down a storm-split tree at my mother-in-law's house. Jeff Castro returned my call promptly and asked for a couple cell phone pics of the tree so he could give me a price. I sent the pics, he called back with a decent quote. He arranged to do the work in two days, called upon arrival, and completed the work quickly and professionally. We have had several bad experiences with other tree services that either overcharged or didn't complete work. Jeff actually completed a half-done tree trim at my mother-in-law's house that we'd pre-paid another company to do. He only charged $25 for that, which I appreciated.Good experience. This company has made my "keeper" list of business contacts.

We needed to have a giant pecan tree removed that was only a couple of inches away from our new house and shockingly being held up by an old cable. Additionally, we had about 5 other trees that had very low hanging branches over the roof that needed to be cut back. And, there was a big cluster of smaller pecan trees and about 6 other trees that were thick and had unsafe dead wood. I got 2 quotes and Jeff's was a tiny bit higher but I felt much more confident in his knowledge of trees and his desire to make sure that the job was done right. My husband and I were pretty worried about this giant tree landing on our roof but Jeff's team handled the removal expertly. Jeff did exactly what we agreed on and more. He saw some other problem areas that he took care of at no extra charge and even ground down a couple of very small stumps in the middle of the yard that were a problem to mow around. And, they did a nice job of cleaning up, hauling away everything and blowing off our driveway and deck. Given the amount of wood that was being chopped up we asked Jeff to leave us a bunch of firewood which he nicely stacked up for us behind our old house. He also left us a big pile of mulch for us to spread around one of our muddy flowerbeds. He offered to spread it for us but we asked him to just leave the pile. We definitely got a great deal for the amount of work that was done! The team did an excellent job overall and Jeff definitely made sure I was happy throughout the process.

Jeff called us back quickly after we left a message. He was able to come by that afternoon from working on another job to give us an estimate. He and his crew showed up at the agreed upon time and got the work done rapidly. The crew neatly stacked the brush for city pick up and cleaned up the yard of all debris. The holes were filled with mulched wood and Jeff provided us with the information needed to finish out the holes with topsoil after the mulch settled. Overall, they were very professional and efficient, and we would definitely use them again.

What great service! These guys were very responsive. I never expected same day service. I called for a quote to get my trees looked at and see if there are any immediate safety concerns. This is my first home and I have had a few branches fall this summer and alot of my branches needed trimming. I called to get a quote and to get an idea of how much it was going to cost to get everything trimmed and nice looking. I knew I didnt have the money to do a full cleaning and trimming but I wanted to know how much it would cost to get it done in the future. He quoted me about $1500 to clean and trim three 60 foot tall red oak trees, and four 40 foot tall pecan trees in my back yard. The back yard trees are the majority of the quote because of their proximity to the power lines and it would require quite a bit of trimming from years of neglect. I also had some stumps in my backyard that a sprinkler company said needed to be removed before they could run a water main near it. Jeff called me back in 15 minutes after I left a message and offered to come by in an hour to grind down the stumps. He and his crew were done for the day, but they were passing right by my house with a stump grinder on board. He said it could be done really quickly and then he could get a good idea for a quote for the rest of the work while he was out here. The stumps were no match for his crew. They were done in 15 minutes start to finish and cleanup was very good. Jeff determined that there were no branches that he saw that were immediate safety problems. I will be getting this work done sometime after I have a little money saved up for this project because it needs to be done (a new home has a lot of expenses, especially when it is a fixer upper project, i just didnt budget on tree service). When I will be getting things done, I will call Jeff and have him do the work. I was that impressed. He even told me he could schedule around the dallas bulk collection day, which would help me save a little bit of money. I appreciate his honesty and I especially appreciate his punctuality. I was very impressed with the response.

I called Jeff on a Wednesday for an estimate for cutting down a large dead tree and grinding the stump. He said he could get me an estimate by the weekend, which was acceptable to me. He called me the next day to say he had been to the property, gave me a price and said he could do the work that day, if I wanted him to. We negotiated the price and he did indeed, complete the work that day. I was pleased with the speed, price and result.

We knew that this tree in the backyard was old and had some problems and leaned ever so slightly; so we had some branches removed on one side in an effort to take weight off that side so it would, hopefully, not lean any further toward the house. But on 8/23 we noticed that it was leaner much more toward the house and some large branches were now on or through the roof. I found a couple of provider options on Angie's List and called them. Both said they would come look at it and give me an estimate. Jeff Castro got me the estimate within and hour or two and even rescheduled his job for the following day to take care of this situation!...he saw the urgency just like I did, he knew it needed to be done asap. Castro's Tree Service came early the next morning, did exactly what he said they would do, for exactly what he said it would cost, and I couldn't be happier. Had he not been so conscientious and responsive I might have had a huge, costly, dangerous event. I'm very grateful to Jeff Castro for what he did, and also for the great work he did. I will recommend Castro's Tree Service always!

I needed to have a fruitless mulberry tree trimmed in my back yard. Called Castro's Tree Service and spoke with the owner, who was available to stop the same day. He was extremely knowledgable and showed me some items which needed to be taken care of that I was not aware of. He and his crew showed up on time the next day and went straight to work. They did an excellent job, making sure not to damage my fence or existing plants I had. They cleaned up the site very well. I am extremely satisfied with their work and will use them again in the future.

Jef returned my call promptly, and came out to look at the tree the same day. He gave me a quote that I felt was reasonable. He called back to schedule a time for the service. They arrived on time. His two man crew went to work immediately to cut down the tree. They took great care in assuring that nothing was damaged, roof, gutters, ground plants. This tree hung over my roof and was very close to a neighbors house and the team accomplished their task efficiently and with great care. They cut up the tree loaded it up and cleaned up my yard afterward. Job well done! Jeff called back a couple of days later to make sure that all was well. I would, and have already, recommended this company to others.

I contacted Jeff Castro about a large Hackberry tree that was in my backyard. He came out the next day and looked at the tree then phoned me with the options. He was willing to trim but because it was already in a state of disease he recommended removing the tree before it damaged my property or my neighbor's property. His price was actually pretty fair. I could have saved a little money by having the branches and stumps left out front for bulk item pick-up but he also offered the option of removing the brush himself so that is what I chose. The tree was in a very difficult place on the property. The telephone and electrical lines for both my home and my neighbor's home were very near the branches and I was fearful that the lines might be damaged during the removal of the tree. Jeff has his crew pay close attention and no damage was done. All the debris was cleared away from both properties and I was left with a very clean property. I highly recommend Jeff's services and plan on using him again in the future.

The job went well. They showed up on time and were finished quickly. I called them out for stump grinding and when they showed up I had them cut down a tree also.

I called several tree trimming services that were highly rated on Angie's List to get quotes. Jeff Castro (the owner) was both prompt and returned the lowest bid. After talking with him on the phone, I felt comfortable giving him the job. He had looked at both trees and suggested what needed to be cut. Both trees had suffered storm damage and years of neglect from prior owners, so heavy trimming was required. Jeff and his crew showed up promptly at 7:45am on the day of service and kept me updated at work through text messages. By noon they were done, and they had even cut and stacked all the trimmings by the curb to be hauled off by the city. I highly recommend Castro Tree Service to anyone looking for affordable, quality tree services. Out of all the A-rated companies on Angies List, he was definitely the right choice.

Jeff Castro is the owner. He is incredibly timely. Last time I used him, I had a really bad storm. I had a tree that came down. They came over my neighbor's driveway. Thankfully, they didn't break anything. I called him and he was already busy. He already had a booked day. On top of that, because of the storm he had all these additional calls come in. He made time and came that morning because it was blocking my neighbor's driveway. He took care of at least that part, so my neighbor could get in and out. Then he came back later when he had time and cleaned it all up. He is very thorough, flexible, and helpful.

Jeff came out and personally supervised the three tree trimmer. About four trailers of limbs were hauled off. His crew continously raked and sweep the debris from the street and final cleanup was thougrough. No rushing. Did the job well. Will use again.

Jeff and his crew showed up promptly, cut down 3 large limbs that were draped over our utility lines. Hauled away the limbs and cleaned up the site. Very pleased (as always) with their work. I highly recommend Castro's for your tree servicing needs.

I had several dead limbs hanging over the roof of my house and over the phone and cable lines. These were fairly big limbs and high up in the air; enough to do some major damage. From the time of the first quote to the actual day of the service, Jeff and company were on time every time. They did the work fast and safely. I will need my trees groomed in the near future, and this company is certainly the front runner when I consider hiring someone for the job.

I came home from work to find that my pecan trees had dropped 2 large limbs on the power line coming into the house. fortunately, the power line did not snap (101°F outside). I called Jeff at 5pm and made an appointment for him to come out the next morning at 7:30am. Jeff and his crew arrived right on time and took care of the limbs, trimmed the broken stumps on the trees and was done within 30 minutes.

Jeff was prompt and reasonably priced. They did the work quickly and cleaned up afterward.

I called Jeff Castro when I woke up and saw that some very large tree branches had broken off my tree, and had landed in my neighbor's yard. I was pretty frantic to have it taken care of that same day. Although Jeff already had jobs planned for the day, he told me that he would help me out. He contacted me several times throughout the day to let me know the status of his crew. When the crew arrived late that afternoon, they were courteous, friendly, and very professional (even though it was over 100 degrees). I was especially impressed with how thoroughly they cleaned up the mess (not just the large branches, but they raked the loose leaves). I would definitely use Jeff and his crew again in the future.

They came out and gave me an estimate. They completed the work the next week. I did not have any problems or concerns with the work that they did. It was very easy. This is a great company.

They came when they said that they would. They went right to work and finished the job. They did a good job and I was pleased. My overall experience with them was very good. Their price was about average but I could not be sure. However, they quoted me less than what my neighbors thought that it would be. They were here before I was up.

Mr. Castro arrived when promised and did an outstanding job trimming my Silver Leaf Maple. I have had it trimmed in the past but it has never looked this good. He also removed an over-sized Crape Myrtle out of our front flower bed and ground the trunk down so my wife could plant flowers in its place. I feel he went beyond what other contractor would do by cleaning up the chips from of the yard. You can't even tell a tree was there. I would have no issue with referring Mr. Castro to anyone. He does great work at a competitive price.

Great service, call with in one day, of my email and did the work the next week. They did a great job, cleaned up and made sure all my gates were closed and locked.

I called the tree service and he came out the next day to look at the trees. I asked for him to determine whether any of the trees were salvagable, as they were covered in mistletoe. He explained that in cases where mistletoe has already taken over the major branches, the most you can do is cut it out , but it wil most likely come back. He took a look and advised the maple would definitely have to come out, but he could try and clean up the cedar elm. He wasn't sure how long it would last. After looking it over further, I decided to remove all of them. He worked with me to schedule it so that he would make it out before bulk trash pick up to save some money. He came out four days after giving the quote, which was just in time because bulk trash came the next day to pick up the debris. Overall the experience was great. He was honest and worked with my schedule. He provided tips on how to get the grass to grow over the empty spots, and where to plant our next tree. He did it all and under budget! I was expecting to spend a lot more than I did.
