Good phone communication and prompt service. Jeff gave different options for each tree and once we decided the agreed works for each tree his team followed his instructions impeccably. The team worked hard all day. Good clean up afterwards. We are so happy with the results and so glad we followed Jeff's advice. The 2 large red oaks and pecan tree have been transformed and we have 10 beautiful well shaped trees. Definitely use again and great value for money.

Very well. We knew there was no chance to save the tree as after having several huge branches this spring, others died over the summer and so it was a lost cause. Jeff wanted to try and save the tree, but realized upon inspection that it wasn't possible, which was what we expected. He and his crew took out the stones that rounded the tree (stacked 4 high), removed the rosemary that surrounded the tree, cut down the (very large) tree and ground the stump. Then he and the crew actually spread the dirt/wood shavings across the now former tree area, and spread the extra where we needed it. We are incredibly happy with their work and definitely plan on using them again. Jeff is extremely knowledgable about trees and will try to save a tree if at all possible and will only trim/cut when it's best for the tree's survival, something lacking in the previous tree service we used. Will definitely be calling them for any future tree work.

The pricing was a little unconventional. After speaking with them on the phone we texted a photo and received a text quote. While it seemed an odd way to obtain a service, they held to the quoted price and did an outstanding job. The crew was extremely professional and left my yard looking better that it was when they got there. They picked up all branches in the yard and flower beds, even ones from other trees. I highly recommend using Castro's Tree Service. I will be calling them again when I need more work performed.

I spoke with Jeff to get work done at my aunt's house. She needed a tree cut down as the city was building a new sidewalk. Jeff said he was really busy and couldn't get to me until next week if I needed any work done. He said he would try to go out today for an estimate. Somehow he managed to find the time to go by today and totally went above and beyond the call of duty. He may have even talked us out of using his services because it may not be needed after all. The details are long to go through, but he made extra calls to the city and 311, and an arborist and just went above and beyond. He must have known I was a dummy about using tree services, but he sure didn't make me feel like a dummy. He educated me on this particular situation. My experience with his professionalism exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this guy simply because he is a true professional. He seems to genuinely care about what you need done and how to go about doing it the right way. He even tried to find a way to save me money to benefit myself - not him. I know every situation is different. He will be straight up with you.

Good phone communication, prompt service. He showed up (A+ for just showing up to direct the crew) but something astounding happened! He actually directed the crew in what to do and they followed his directions! I?m a bit jaded from a few bad contractor experiences, so this is where I?m coming from. I needed these limbs removed from the power line before winter, and another contractor had already botched the job a few months back. When I got the courage to try again, I was praying Jeff would be a good choice and he was. I loved the way he verbally instructed his worker on each cut to make to do minimal but effective cuts on this ancient pecan tree. They provided good clean up afterwards. Most importantly Jeff listened to my concerns, we came up with an agreeable plan and he carried it through effectively. Definitely will use again.

Jeff gave an estimate for the work at a fair and competitive price. His crew did an outstanding work from pruning and trimming trees and bushes to clearing and stacking the debris along the curb for the city to pickup. The house including the garage receives sufficient natural light and the front yard as well as the back yard receives more sunlight necessary to keep the lawn healthy. Indeed, Castro's tree service is exactly as per their claim: "Quality work at reasonable rates" and is highly recommended.

I called Jeff on Monday morning to see about getting an estimate. I had previously been quoted some very high rates and decided to defer having the work done, but I was at the point that I needed to get the trees removed before they became dangerous. Jeff came out on Monday afternoon and we took a look at the trees. He gave me an honest opinion and even helped me to decide against removing one other tree that I thought might need to come down as well. His quote on the job was well below what I had received previously, but inline with some work I had done about 8 or 9 years ago to remove three other damaged trees. I decided to go ahead with the work. His crew arrived a little after 8am on Thursday and began work. He provided enough people that the work went quickly and they finished up about noon. Despite the trees hanging over the house and across my fence line, the crew was able to do the work safely and no damage was done to my house or my fence. The trimmings were all neatly stacked for the city to pickup and my yard was very organized and clean. Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend Castro's Tree Services.

Great. Jeff was very quick to return my phone call. He came to do an estimate very quickly and called me and explained what his recommendations were. He was able to work with my schedule and with my area's bulk trash schedule to pick the best day and time for me. They did a very good job in trimming the trees and removing limbs and opening up the trees to see the house better. They did an excellent job in making sure to take care with not letting the trimmed limbs hit my newly planted bushes or other plants or house. They also did an excellent job in cleaning up -- in fact, that part of the yard looked cleaner than before they even got there. Entire crew got to work right away and worked as a team. I recommend this company.

Mr. Castro arrived when promised and did an outstanding job trimming my Silver Leaf Maple. I have had it trimmed in the past but it has never looked this good. He also removed an over-sized Crape Myrtle out of our front flower bed and ground the trunk down so my wife could plant flowers in its place. I feel he went beyond what other contractor would do by cleaning up the chips from of the yard. You can't even tell a treewas there. I would have no issue with referring Mr. Castro to anyone. He does great work at a competitive price.

We had a real mess on our hands; all the trees in the backyard were literally falling down. These trees were huge well over 50 feet tall, and crumbling down on our house. They were old and over grown. Mostly hackberries... It was a dangerous situation for us and our neighbors. Mr. Castro (Jeff) was very prompt to come over and look at the situation on a Sunday. He gave an estimate of what it would cost and that is exactly what we paid. Mr. Castro and his team were on time, courteous, and very mindful of my Pets/plants/fountains/lawn ornamentation. They went above and beyond, and we really appreciated it. I highly recommend them for tree removal and trimming.

Their cost was significantly lower than any other bidder. They were very concerned with doing everything right. They checked with us on everything and did a great job. They cleaned everything up nicely. In the end you couldn’t even there used to be a tree.

These guys work hard and do a good job. They cleaned up the mess and piled the debris neatly along the curb for the city to pickup. Jeff is very responsive and worked with me on scheduling. The trees look great now.

They completed the job in a single day, professionally and cleaned up all the sawdust/minor branches very well. We had agreed that they'd also cut up a considerable amount of the wood as firewood and stack it for us. This they did as agreed. My wife wanted one group of limbs trimmed farther than the service did, but after discussion, we agreed that it would not be good for the health of the tree to trim them back as far as my wife wanted. In another case, where my wife wanted the limbs pruned further, they readily agreed and did the trimming immediately on the spot.

Jeff Castro will never win any awards for "personality", but - most importantly - he and his crew do good work for a good price. They were on-time, worked quickly and efficiently and the results are great. We would certainly use them again.

I left a voice message for Jeff Castro @ 4pm on Saturday, Aug 4th. He promptly returned call @ 4:30pm on the same day. We discussed what I wanted and he said he'd drive by and take a look, if that was okay with me. Which it was. He called the next day, Sunday, and said he was coming over to look at the work needed. Since my husband and I were home, we were able to meet with him in person. He gave us a verbal estimate of $2,700, minus the 5% Angie's List discount. And said he was concerned as to timing, since he was busy. We said it wasn't an issue. We weren't in a hurry. He called the next day and said that he could do day one of the job on Friday, Aug. 10, and day two on Monday, the 13th. Before confirming the date, he very conscientiously wanted to confirm when our brush pick up was so we could coordinate with it. Since the pick up dates coordinated, we confirmed the dates. He was wonderful about calling and letting me know what was going on. When the crew was there. And what to expect as the job progressed. A huge "A+" for communication! He even called to let me know that one of his men had accidentally cut our hose while trimming the hedges. He insisted on offering to buy a new hose or taking $ off our bill. Even though I insisted it was an old hose and no big deal, he still took $25 off our bill. He was an awesome and honest professional. His crew stacked the piles of trimmings/limbs neatly along the curb line. Just impeccable service!

I just moved into a new home and needed some serious tree trimming - specifically 2 large oaks, one which was hanging pretty close to my house and the other pressing down on electrical lines. In addition, there were multiple volunteer trees, bushes and crape myrtles along the house that I wanted cleared out. I contacted Jeff Castro through Angie's list at the end of July and to my surprise, he responded within a few minutes. We scheduled an appointment and he checked the front and back yard. We discussed what I would like done and he gave me separate quotes for the front and the back. I decided to start with the front yard, which was a smaller job and do the back later. Jeff was nice enough to check bulk trash pick-up so the work could be scheduled accordingly. When the day came, he called to let me know when he and his crew would be arriving. Although I was not there to see the work being done, I was confident from previous conversations that I would be happy with the work - and I was! Everything was cleared out beautifully and all the brush neatly stacked in front and ready for bulk trash pickup. I can hardly wait to get the back yard done!

No mishaps. Everything went great. Castro's crew was able to work around our phone, cable and electrical wires without damaging them or interrupting service.

Jeff was out of town when I first submitted my request, however he phoned me right away and said he would check back with me to see if the work had been done. Jeff called me upon his return and since the other tree company did not return to complete the work, Jeff came by to give me an estimate. Since I was home, Jeff was able to complete both items while his crew was on another job. His work was neat and he hauled away all limbs & left area neat. In addition, Jeff removed two hooks from the Crape Myrtle trees that had been limbed over. I was so happy to see them gone!! He also offered advice on the other trees in my yard. I will be calling him again to remove a tree in my garden that is too close to my house. I will be happy to refer Jeff to my friends and family.

Estimate provided on a Tuesday and work performed two days later. I indicated what I wanted done, then Jeff showed me problems with three trees not part of my original request. We agreed on the price and scope of work. I was not at home when the work was performed, but am very pleased with the results. Jeff extended special effort as I had another contractor scheduled to replace the fence the following Monday,

Arrived on time. Owner Jeff understood what needed to be done and was able to effectively communicate that with his crew. Several junk trees were cut down. Excellent trimming of dense branches was done. Jeff has a great ability to see and describe how things will look after aggressive trimming. Several trees were around our veggie garden plants and he was able to do stump grinding without damaging the plants. The wife was happy. I would use them again without hesitation.

Sent Jeff an email through Angie's list on Sunday afternoon, about 10 minutes later Jeff called to follow up. We have 3 large Red Oaks which needed trimming. After outlining my overall plan I mentioned I had a landscaper coming the following weekend to re-sod my front yard. He expressed concern that the tree should be trimmed first. Since this was large trash pick up week and I had already scheduled the sod work it appeared I have some duplicate costs because things were out of sequence and we were short on time. Bear in mind I never asked or expected someone to squeeze me in just because that's what I needed. Long story short he squeezed me in the next day before going across town for another job. The large trash pickup was the next morning and all is well with my front yard. We're now scheduled to do the back in July.
