Castro's Tree Services

During an ice storm, five large limbs on my 30-foot oak tree were weighed down and broke. Most of them were resting on my roof, one on my neighbor's roof. I called Jeff as the ice was finally melting, to see about having the branches safely removed before they crashed down eventually on their own. He called me back within the hour to let me know he would come by later that same day to examine the situation and provide an estimate. He worked me into his schedule, and took a look, then estimated he could come back a few days later with his crew to do the job. This worked well for me because I was going to be out of town for a few days anyway. The crew of four men took to the job at the scheduled time, and it only took them about 2 hours to cut the broken limbs free and remove them safely. At my request, they also trimmed a couple of branches that were growing too close to my roof. The crew then used their leaf blowers to remove all the small branches and debris, and they carried the large branches to the curb, so that they city could collect them later in the week. I am very satisfied with the work, and I will be happy to have Jeff do any future tree work that I require.

I found Castro Tree Service on Angie's list. It came up first, presumably because of it's high rating. I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. On my first call to him, Jeff (Castro) called back almost immediately, even though the weather was still quite bad and I know he was busy with other tree jobs. The estimate he gave was a very fair one, very competitive or better. He also advised me about how to handle the remaining part of the tree. In my case, it had to be cut down as well. His crew showed up when he said they would, cut and neatly stacked the wood at the curb. As soon as the cutting was done, Jeff put me in touch with a colleague who did the tree stump grinding, as mine was quite large. That fellow was equally reasonable, and did his work when he said he would. Castro Tree Service was very easy to work with, and the communication could not have been better, both phone and texting. I would recommend them to anyone who needs tree services.

I called another tree service early Friday morning after a big limb broke across driveway. Did not get a call until Monday and we set up tentative appointment. They did not come on Monday or Tuesday. I called this morning and they don't know when they can make it. Looked up Castro's on Angies list. He was honest and told me he was very busy for the next 2 days at least but he recommended another service. I really did appreciate his response and assistance. I will contact him with an future needs.

I contacted Jeff the day after the most recent ice storm in December 2013 when one of my very large red oak trees split from the weight of the ice. Jeff was responsive and was able to come out within 48 hours of my original call, even when most of my neighbors were still trying with other companies just to get scheduled. While my original appointment was delayed due to continued freezing temperatures that made travel in the DFW area impossible, Jeff kept me in the loop through text messages and phone calls. His team arrived on time, were prepared, and professional. The trimmers were able to cut down the split limbs, stack them on the front curb, and clean up their mess (including a pile I had cut myself earlier without me requesting them to do so), all in about 2 hours. I highly recommend them and will use them in the future for my routine trimmings.

We purchased an investment home that needed some trees and huge shrubs removed that were too close to the house. Since I had used Jeff's company at my personal home, I didn't hesitate to call Jeff. Jeff's crew arrived on Saturday morning and like before did an outstanding job. The crew took their time with removing the trees, grinding down the stumps and thoroughly removing all the debris. I am completely satisfied with Jeff and his crews and would highly recommend Castro's Tree Service.

Standard tree cleanup. Castro's Tree Service made sure to schedule their appointment so it would coincide with our bulk trash pickup, which minimizes branch time on the curb and makes haul away (and its expense) unnecessary. I was pleased that, in addition to blowing debris away after they finished their work, the crew moved a pile of shrub branches we had previously trimmed ourselves out to the curb along with what they had trimmed.

The crew of four arrived on time and within 10 minutes the work began. The crew was efficient and very professional. They did exactly what was asked on the tree from neighbor's yard. The branches were extending some 15 to 30 feet onto my side of the yard and dropping acorns like crazy! Jeff's crew trimmed as close to fence line as possible. They went to work on a huge oak in my yard which now looks outstanding with all the dead branches gone and trimmed properly. After the work was completed, the crew cleaned up all the branches and put everthing back the way it was. In one word, outstanding. Jeff Castro is very responsive and did work quickly. He gave me an accurate price that was fair. There was some confusion on the work and he made the right decisions and was very professional regarding this. I would use his service again and I think my neighbors are going to use Jeff real soon. Also, They hauled away all limbs since the city would not come by for a while.

Arrived on time and did a good job trimming the trees. Was supposed to also trim crape myrtles but only took off a couple of branches. Clean up was very average. Regret not getting more bids. Feel we way overpaid for this work.

Jeff and his crew were very friendly and professional. They arrived on time and quickly cut down the first tree. The second tree was very large and took some time, but they got it cut and stacked by early afternoon. The crew was here cutting and stacking the last tree until about 5:30pm. They did an excellent job of cleaning up my roof, driveway and yard and stacking the wood on the curb. I was very pleased that they also cleaned up my neighbors's yard where tree leaves and small branches had fallen.

They provided each of the services promised with the quote. I found Castro's Tree Service through Angie's list and would highly recommend the company. I was worried about some electrical wires where I had recent work, and they were very careful. I have now recommended Castro's Tree Service to a friend who is looking for assistance.

Jeff responded quickly to my request. He came out on a Sunday to give me an estimate. It was a very difficult job. The tree was at least 50 feet and went through my arbor in my back yard. It was over my house and my neighbors. Jeff found a creative way that allowed them to access the tree without the use of a crane. His guys were unbelievably skilled. It was like watching a high wire act. Piece by piece they dismantled the tree and brought it down between the two houses. They were able to do it without any damage to the houses and my arbor. Great job will definitely use them again in the future.

Received 5 estimates to remove a large elm tree from our backyard. Jeff was extremely responsive and his crew very professional. Tree was located in a precarious location between neighbors garage, our pool, the fence and a shed. Jeff's team was extremely careful particularly since they were unable to climb out on limbs due to internal rot. Price was very reasonable compared to other quoted companies. I will be using Castro's Tree Service for our future needs.

Jeff responded almost immediately after I left a message on Angie's List. He was able to go by the same day and take a look at the tree that needed to be removed and gave me a price. His price was about $100 less than another estimate I had gotten and, at his suggestion, even included pruning some branches from my other tree and my neighbor's tree that were getting too close to the roof. Jeff's crews removed the splitting tree, hauled off the debris (it was three weeks before bulky trash pick up), and ground the stump and roots over a couple of days, leaving the job site clean and looking good. I will definitely recommend Castro's Tree Service and in the future, Jeff Castro is my tree guy in Dallas! Thanks Jeff.

Great job, Did not allow tree branches to drop on the roof. The job took two days, and they cleaned up both days, Hauled away all of the major debris, except for the large trunk material, which they left for the sanitation crews. They did ask for permission to leave the large trunk material for the sanitation crews. Very thorough and very hard working crews who did a great job and were careful in all respects. Supervisor was on the job the entire time overseeing the crew. Raked up all leaves and branches, and left the yard in great shape.

Jeff's crew did a great job from start to finish. They cut the tree down, ground the stump and piled them neatly on the curbside for trash pickup. The area was cleaned so well. We're very happy with their work! Highly recommended.

The trees around my house were over grown. I was concerned that if we have a freeze this winter, my house or power lines would be damaged. Jeff is great! He is very responsive, prompt and professional. Jeff came out to look at my trees and told me what needed to be done. He also made great suggestions for what could be done to make the front of my house look better. Jeff worked within my budget and the work was done on time. I couldn't be happier! I will use them again and I highly recommend Castro's Tree Service.

First of all, Jeff was surprisingly fast in his response via Angies List. Apparently I transposed the numbers for my phone and had not checked my notifications on the list--make note Jeff will get to you quickly. Anyhow within about an hour Jeff was knocking on my door. I showed him what we needed done and he gave me a price. His bid was not the lowest nor the highest...he was just in the middle but the difference was only a few dollars and Jeff was going to haul away all the debris. They came on Wednesday as expected and right on time. The crew was fast and efficient and did a terrific job.

On Tuesday, I called Jeff Castro to ask about removing a broken branch that was laying across my roof. The branch had not broken completely from the tree, and if it did, there was a good chance it would fall directly on my house's phone and electric lines, which would be bad. Jeff called me back promptly, but informed me that he was on a big job across town and would not be able to get a crew to my house before Friday. Later, however, Jeff called to inform me that he could send a smaller crew out to tie a rope to secure the branch, just in case it should happen to break free from the tree. I agreed to this. The crew came out on Wednesday to secure the branch, but instead the crew leader decided that his crew could handle the job of removing the branch, and they finished this up in only a couple of hours. I was charged a fair price for the job, and I'm quite satisfied with the results. The crew also cleaned up a smaller branch that had broken from the tree two weeks earlier, which I had cleared but not yet chopped up for placement on the curb. The timing of the job was perfect, because the city picks up large brush on Thursdays, so the crew was able to move all the brush to the curb and it was gone the next morning. Job well done!

He noticed that the previous company had not done a good job of removing limbs and explained the they need to be taken back as close to the tree as possible to heal correctly. These guys were timely, clean, and efficient. I was really impressed with the crew and the care. I forgot to have them apply the angie's list discount. Pretty certain they'll take care of me next time. Stand up guys!

I called Jeff on a Monday afternoon. He visited my home to submit a bid that evening. Timing was critical since it was my bulk trash week. He sent his team of about five or six out the next day. They showed up on a timely manner and completed the job in about two hours including clean up. All work was performed to my satisfaction. Both Jeff and the crew were very professional.

Castro's tree service is wonderful. I sent Jeff an email via AL late one night and received a phone call the very next morning. Jeff came by my house that day while I was at work, provided me with a quote and scheduled a time to perform the service. Although I had originally planned to remove one of the two mature trees in my front yard, I decided to have them both cleaned up. The crew arrived at the scheduled time, thoroughly cleaned up both of the trees and left my lawn spotless when the job was done. For the amount of work done, I honestly feel as though Casto's bid was right on par. The job was done professionally and both trees look awesome. I'll definitely use Castro's for all my future tree Servive needs.

First just let me say that I am quick to complain, but have nothing to complain about with Castro. Easily one of the best customer service experiences I ever had. I had a tree limb fall on a lower limb which was resting on the power lines to my house. I sent a message this morning to Castro through AL. He responded almost immediately and just needed the address. Within an hour he had a guy out looking at it and quoting me a terrific price. Before I got home from work they had it taken down and cleaned up. Honestly, these guys are amazing. I strongly recommend them.
