American Heritage Moving and Storage

Our service with this company was horrible.  Everything we were told and promised was NEVER delivered.  Our first appt with the Anthony, the owner, was a no show.  He then apologized for having some issues at home which was understandable so we gave him the benefit of the doubt.  We then rescheduled and he came out the very next day.  During our meeting he stated that he would be present during the move to insure that everything goes smoothly which never happened.  He also stated all walkways and stairways would be covered in sticky plastic to protect the flooring which also never happened.  Most items were wrapped in saran plastic and blankets however, when we received our items they were either missing, scratched, broken, stained, dented  (including our 50 inch flat screen tv which was returned with a cracked screen, scratched /dented brand new washer/dryer, scratched patio furniture, unwrapped  32 inch tv, uncovered mattresses).  We were very concerned but one of the main reasons why we chose this company was that he assured us any damaged items by their company, if any, would be covered to full replacement value because his additional insurance provider covers all items to full replacement value unlike most companies that only cover cents on the pound.  We called him immediately to notify him of the damaged items but we were told to email him the list of damaged items etc and he would then forward the claim over to the insurance company which would take approximately 2 weeks.  Two weeks have come and gone with no response from him or any insurance company, even after many multiple calls, voicemails, and emails to him.  We tried to resolve this matter with him once more before taking legal action.   He finally responded by text message notifying us that he was going to contact his insurance company and give us a call back by the end of the day.  Still no response.......Date of move was a month ago.  The only positive encounter with this company was his courteous and respectable employees (movers).
