In the heat of a hot Texas summer, Air Patrol was pretty busy, so we were pleased and relieved that the owner, Shawn, personally came to our house to check on the system and do the work in a timely manner. We didn't have to be miserable for very long!
Description of Work: Replaced capacitor on an upstairs AC unit. Checked the system operation. Checked the freon level, which was low. Checked the downstairs unit and that was low on freon as well. Charged both systems.

Todd from Air Patrol was scheduled for a 12pm to 2pm service window. He called at about 11am to let me know he'd be "late" He actually arrived at 1:30pm, so I was pleasantly surprised. I would not call that late at all! Todd worked very efficiently, diagnosing the problem in just a few minutes (broken kill switch). Repairs were completed on the spot, and Todd offered a great deal of helpful information. I heartily recommend both Air Patrol.

Mr. Shawn Gazor measured the home noting quality and quantity of windows and insulation quantity and quality, and some other details. We talked about what I had in mind and he asked about any health problems we had. After this evaluation he made up three options he said would fit this home adequately according to budget restraints. These options had noted in detail the exact items proposed to install, where and how they would be installed and he explained why he arrived at these options.. I checked the manufacturers website and examined the specifications of proposed items to be installed and decided to question Mr, Gazor about two upgrades. He explained the advantages and I decided they were worth the added price. The new system was installed in the attic (old one removed from a first floor closet). I am very well pleased with the installation (new two stage furnace and humidity control ac with all new duct work). The whole installation is very professional and neatly done and I cannot hear the system when it is running. Also the new thermostat is such an improvement over the old one with completely steady maintenance of temperature.

My old A/C unit was not blowing cold air. I called Air Patrol because they had excellent ratings on Angie's List. The technician arrived on time and was friendly. He checked my unit and said my compressor was shot. He explained my options---either replacing the compressor or getting a new unit. I was interested in replacing the unit as my unit was 14 years old and the compressor option didn't seem like the best choice. The technician called the owner, Shawn Gazor, and set up an appointment for the same day so he could discuss new unit options. Shawn took the time to answer many questions, looked at my current set up, listened to my needs/concerns, and gave me 3 options to chose a new unit. Later in the day, he emailed a very detailed explanation of the all the options, what was included with each, what work would be done, etc. It was a very professional prepared document that was easy to navigate and answered all my questions. I was very pleased with all the options, but went with the Carrier unit. They were offering a special and I got an additional discount for paying cash. The install went exactly as planned and the unit is working perfectly. I would definitely use Air Patrol again.

We purchased $68.00 Coupon to have Air Patrol Air Conditioning come out to check our A/C unit. Being the busy time of year for their services they offered to come to our home on 6/7/14 (coupon purchased on 6/2/14) I confirmed that this Saturday date was fine but my air conditioning was out completely so if a sooner time became available that would be OK too. Shawn, the owner, responded to our situation by sending a technician out right away. He was able to get the unit working and cooling in a short time. We were very happy with Todd and impressed with the company's response. Since the unit was very old, Todd contacted Shawn before leaving and set up an appointment for an assessment and proposal. Thank you, Todd, for a job well done. You certainly came to our rescue and cooled the place down.

After trying to deal with the home warranty service providers we called on the company that we had previously used in Dallas. We first met Shawn with Air Patrol in September 2010 when my Son bought his first home (a condo). Shawn was always faithful to let us know everything that was going on. In fact, the last time we needed Shawn he worked on the Heat Unit in our home that I recently purchased in Fort Worth and repaired it (this took him about an hour to do) and he did not charge a thing (this was in the Fall of 2013). We recently had them install the new Carrier 20 Seer Unit. I COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED WITH THE QUALITY OF WORK THESE GUYS DO! The installers, Juan, Ramon and Beto worked steadfast and was courteous and professional and completed the work on time, and left our home clean (I will attach pictures to prove it). Personally, I think Mr. Shawn Gazor is one of the most honest and professional person(s) I have met in his field. In the Fall of 2013, he quoted us prices, and when we were ready, in May of 2014, (even though there were price increases) he kept the price the same. Anyone that is in need of an HONEST, TRUSTWORTHY HVAC DEALER THIS IS WHO YOU SHOULD CALL. The Chief Inspector for the City of Fort Worth did the final inspection and he himself was impressed by their work. THANKS SO MUCH AIR PATROL!!!! We love our home now!!!!

I installed a thermostat this winter and didn't think about checking to see if the AC worked with the new install. In February, when it got into the upper 70's for a couple of days, I switched the thermostat to AC mode and the condenser fan wouldn't kick in. Concerned that it was my wiring at the thermostat, I placed a service call to Air Patrol. They came out on a Saturday, which saved a day off work for me. The technician (Todd) arrived and determined that I had wired the thermostat correctly, but the wiring at the blower in the attic was wired incorrectly. He resolved the issue within an hour. I will do business with Air Patrol again....

We had a couple of different people come out and bid the job and Shawn was by far the most knowledgeable, and he explained what was needed in detail and in a way that I could understand. The work took much longer than anticipated and there were a few minor lack of clear communication issues, but that was all ironed out appropriately and quickly. The system we had installed seems to work well. It warms up the house quickly and doesn't run long, and it's fairly quiet. The insulation team that came in after the air-conditioning system was installed said it looked like a good job was done. I can't speak to the air portion as it hasn't been warm enough to use it. The first issue was my surprise to find out that they could not redo the drain line that the DIY people who worked on the house before simply cut off and didn't replace. Air Patrol let me know about it, which is good because the condensation would have soaked our attic when it got to air conditioning weather, but I was surprised that was outside the scope of their abilities. How do they install air conditioning in new construction if a drain line is just beyond them? I had to hire an additional person and spend a few more hundreds of dollar on an already 9K HVAC. I was already paying them to completely replace the HVAC, seems to me that should have been included. The next issue came the day the install was complete. Here was where I have a REAL big problem. Later in the evening it got cool and I tried to turn the new unit on, nothing happened. I got the quick guide to the new thermostat thinking I just didn't understand this new programmable thermostat, nothing. So then I got the manual and tried everything there,... nothing. So then I called Air Patrol. I was told that what probably happened was the insulation guys that installed later that same day probably turned off the switch that is the emergency shut off for the HVAC system. They said and I quote, " I'm almost positive that is what it is, it happens all the time." He told me I could go up in the attic and find the switch and do it myself, I am NOT physically capable of doing that nor do I have the equipment to get up there, and I thought it was a pretty crappy suggestion since I just paid so much money the same day for a new system and never even got to turn it on one time and have it work! Then he agreed to come out and check and see if that is what happened and then presented me with a bill saying that since they believe it was the insulation company that turned the switch off, I'd have to pay for it and bill the insulation company!!! My problem is, why in the world if this "happens all the time, wouldn't you put a peace of tape over the switch, or install a red switch plate, or put a note or label on it that said it was the emergency shut off for the HVAC and not the light switch that it LOOKS exactly like? Or I don't know since you know the insulation crew are going up in the attic, going to work up there all day, and you are here with them for several hours, maybe just once you might mention," hey don't turn off the power to the HVAC, it looks exactly like a light switch but it's not." They didn't do any of those things. In my opinion, that makes it THEIR responsibility since that seems negligent to me. It''s a very unprofessional thing to keep doing the same thing the same way, have it go bad for your customers. Update: Scheduled a meeting with Shawn, he came out to the house, agreed to not only not charge us for the service call for the turned off power switch but to also not bill the insulation company. He further had his technician come back and install the adjustable vents I requested in the upstairs, after verifying they weren't measured correctly the first time, AND has followed up since a couple of times to make sure we were happy and satisfied. Very nice turn around!

Called, got a hold of a "call service" and had a hard time understanding the lady on the phone. All she could do was to take a message and have someone call me back from the local office. I asked her how long will it be before someone calls me back (5 mins, 5 hours, 5 days, etc.) she stated she did not know and repeated that the office is open 8:30a to 5p. I told her no thank you, I want to speak to someone now and not a week from now. I advise companies like this to look at phone companies like 8x8 for an real Call Queue and Auto Attendant to hold the call until someone is available. I'd rather wait on hold to talk to someone live then wait for a call back that I normally never get back from companies with voice mail.

dear client, We have a answering service that takes our after hours calls and forward it to technician on call. The reason they cant put you on hold is that the technician might be on another service call at the time but he would have returned your call promptly that evening. you should have gave it a try and you would have received a call back promptly.

It went fine. They had to come back a do a couple of things they did not get done the first time. They had to fix some vents to get the heat pushed through. The original vent never blew out air. They were also supposed to come back and replace the relay switch, the unit is very noisy. I'm not sure if this is a defect in the unit or the way it was installed. They ordered the relay switch for it, but they have not contacted us back yet and it has been about a month. They did clean up behind themselves and arrived on time each time they came out. We were okay with the price. The owner always returned my calls and/or text me about the appointments. They gave good service.

Air Patrol was originally called out to confirm a gas leak with a Furnace. They quickly identified the problem and offered a $700.00 fix. Given it was an 18 year old furnace, I decided to replace it with a NEW Carrier furnace. This end of the project went perfectly and I would have given Air Patrol "A"'s all the way around had this been the only service proviced. At the time of service I discussed the need for Humidifiers and went ahead with the recommendation for two whole house humidfiers. The initial installation went fine, but one system did not produce any tangible results. Shawn came back and recommended we add a Carrier Edge Thermostat in the family room (this moved the humidistat to the room) at a discounted price, but this still did not produce any tangible results. At this point Shawn offered to give me back the money for one of the humidifiers, but because I already spent more money to solve the problem (adding the Edge Thermostat), it made no sense to me and I preferred Air Patrol figure out why the room humidity was not getting to where it needed to be. This led to the installation of two more humidifiers as well I requested another Carrier Edge Thermostat. Upon completing the last installation and after leaving my home, one of the furnaces where one of the humidifiers had just been installed tripped a breaker and went out. I called Air patrol back and they found one of the humidifiers just installed was bad. They returned again the following Monday to replace the bad Humidifier. Now all seems OK. I gave Air Patrol an "A" for effort, punctuality, Professionalism and clear interest in satisfying the customer. Shawn and his team made every effort to acknowledge the issues and took responsibiltiy for those without question. Hence I'd try them again. Quality gets a C solely based on the Humidifier Installation - the time it took, the challenges faced, and the bad Carrier Unit (Not air Patrols fault). As noted before the furnace quality would have been an "A". Price gets a C not because prices are unreasonable, but because the cost for the originally recoommended humidification solution ultimately costed me twice as much as originally envisioned. I appreciate the effort made by Air Patrol.

They arrived on time and proceeded to the attic to look at the units with a complete inspection of each. Two units were new and no problems were noted. The other units were original (1999) and though running ok had some build-up in the systems. Filters on both were changed and he let me know that though the systems are old, they were ok for now, but may be time for replacement in a year or more. He then proceeded to redirect the air upstairs by adjusting the dampers. Our office was the coldest. He found that the damper in the attic was completely closed. Another easy fix. Overall complete success again. Will be calling them back out in the spring to check out the AC units since they can't be properly evaluated with freezing temperatures. They do great work!
Description of Work: Just moved into the house in June and wanted Air Patrol to look over our 4 units in the house for general inspection. Also had a few rooms that were running cold and wanted them to take a look at those runs. At our old house, Air Patrol was able to diagnose a problem that 2 other Heating and Air companies couldn't. They recognized it right off. So I was hoping for the same success this time.

After "interviewing" at least ten different AC companies, we went with Air Patrol w/ price being our biggest deciding factor. They came highly recommended by family as well. Shawn and his team did a great job and Shawn went above and beyond with helping us file w/ the city for tax rebates. Shawn's recommendations for our needs upstairs and down were practical and have saved us hundreds on our utility bills.

After my AC was stolen I got 7 quotes from different companies. After careful consideration I chose Shawn (Air Patrol). I could not be more happier with my decision. You know that feeling of not really knowing who will be sent to your home to actually do the work after hiring a company to do jobs such as these? Well, Shawn sent out Ramon and Beto to do the job. They were by far the best AC technicians I've ever met. Professional, considerate and most of all they really took pride in their work. They took their time, carefully and skillfully did their job and cleaned up afterward. Even went as far as to offer us drinks from their cooler! My new AC is wonderful, and they even took the time to add more rocks around the unit so mowing would not be necessary right next to it. I highly recommend Air Patrol, and asking for Ramon and Beto to come out to do the job. You will be more than pleased with their work. If I ever need anything done in the future I will be requesting them. Not only do they do an awesome job and take pride in their work, they leave you feeling as though you know you have someone you can trust to come out if you ever need anything in the future.

They did an excellent job overall. They were punctual, hard working and did the job to our satisfaction. Shawn gave us 4 options to choose from and we selected 16 seer system with Carrier performance series and comfort series components. They started with removing the old HVAC which was installed when the house was built in 1990 (7 seer, i know). That took half a day and cleaned up everything for the new system to go in. For the condenser, they put a new slab on the existing one and even out around river bed rocks to hide the slab, that gave a cleaner look. Since our attic ladder was in the way they removed it carefully and covered it with plywood every time they left so the heat from the furnace will affect the temperature in the house to a minimum. We were also recommended a better layout for the ducts with a duct distribution box which was far away from the system. Also installed 2 new inlets to the system to circulate air more evenly from the house as we had only one inlet (that too very close to the floor). They were courteous and told us everything they were doing. After everything was installed they cleaned up really well and the system is working great. We will definitely use them in future (hopefully not for the next decade :) ) Thank you very much to Shawn, Beto and Ramone (i am missing one person, dont know his name, sorry dude) for all their hard work they put in and installed the HVAC.

After interviewing representatives of several Heating & Air Conditioning companies about replacing both of our furnaces and air conditioners after one of the systems broke down, my husband and I decided to go with Air Patrol, mainly because of the knowledge and professionalism of Shawn Gazor. On 25 June 2013 the crew arrived at 8:40 am. This was day 1 of a 2-day job. I showed them where everything was. They put down cloths to protect the floor and got to work. Around noon one of the workers informed me that he had put his foot through the ceiling in the hall upstairs. He informed Shawn, who called a repair crew. At 12:45 pm I got a call from one of the repair guys to schedule a time for them to come out and look at the problem. The installation crew took a lunch break from 2-3 pm and did something I consider to be unprofessional. Without asking, they pulled a reclining yard chair out of my garage to sit on. They also moved several ice chests and used them for tables. I probably would have been OK with that if they had just asked first. They left around 6:45 pm. They did not do a good job of cleaning up. My husband stepped on a screw in the upstairs carpet while he was walking around barefoot. I had to vacuum the upstairs carpet myself and straighten up the garage. There was grease in the sink in the upstairs bathroom and gouges on two different walls. On the positive side, at the end of the first day one unit was mostly working. (Due to a misunderstanding, they started by replacing the working unit instead of the non-working unit.) Overnight the temperature in the house went from 85 degrees to the low 70s. On 26 June (Day 2) the crew arrived at 8:20 am. and quickly got to work. At 12:15 pm, a repair guy called to say he was coming by at 1 pm. At 12:55 pm the repair guys showed up to examine the damage. They were simply going to screw in the damaged wallboard until my husband intervened and told them to replace it all. They went off the Home Depot to get supplies, then installed new wallboard. In the process they got plaster on the carpet, the bannister, and the wall. The installation crew was done by 8:30 pm. They did a better job cleaning up this time, though one of the workers took one of my vacuum cleaners to use without asking. On 27 June the repair guys (HouseWrights) textured and painted the ceiling. It looks as good as new now. On 29 June my husband found plaster on the downstairs master bathroom tub faucet. I have no idea why someone would have been in there using the tub faucet. On 01 July the inspector came by and said everything looked good. On 10 July one of Air Patrol's technicians came out to adjust some dampers to route air more appropriately upstairs. Even with all the annoyances, Shawn Gazor was professional throughout and constantly followed up with us. I give him personally an A rating. The two air conditioners are able to keep our house at 69 degrees even when it's over 100 degrees outside, so my husband and I are quite satisfied so far.
Description of Work: Replaced two 8-year-ol Lennox furnaces and air conditioners with brand new Carrier systems. Upstairs - Carrier 4-ton 21 SEER (AC=24ANB148, Furnace=58CVA090-1-16, 5-ton Coil). Shawn recommended replacing everything in the attic of our home: the furnace, the ventilation system and all the duct work. He also recommended changing out the return air from the two floor returns to three ceiling returns. We did not replace the compressor outside because the sales contract indicated it was fairly new. We did have the provision made for the new type of refrigerant in the new A-coil installed with the new ventilation system and furnace. He assured that all would work well. And it did for a while. This spring (2013) we were having problems so we called Air Patrol out. They indicated that the compressor unit was drawing too many amps and needed to be replaced. It was an off brand unit to begin with and it had a 5 year warranty and we were into the fourth year already. We ask for a bid for a new compressor. I was shocked at the price, so I looked around for the EXACT SAME UNIT and found it $1400 cheaper with another contractor. We had the new compressor installed and still experienced cooling problems. The new contractor sent out a design specialist and he determined that the duct work which had been install the previous year was the same size as the original ceiling ducts in the house, but it was delivering only 640 CFM of air flow where the system was designed to push 1200 CFM of air. Suggestion was made to replace the ducts with properly sized duct work. We BIT THE BULLET and had the work done. Now our home is cool and comfortable. I am very disappointed that Air Patrol did not do design consultation so that when they install the new duct work it was the right size. I consider that to be dishonest and unprofessional. I am very disappointed that we had to have the work done TWICE to get a system that works.
Description of Work: After we purchased our home we noticed that the AC was not cooling the home and particularly one room was excessively HOT. After contacting 4 AC companies we decided to use Air Patrol. Shawn Gazar did a good sales job and while the price was not the least expensive, it sounded like he knew was he was talking about.

[member name removed], I must say I'm very disappointed of your comments after all the hard and professional work we did at your house. I believe you are looking at this from a wrong angle. Let's look at some facts. We replaced your furnace, evaporator coil and entire duct system last year. Your outdoor A/C unit was only three years old and still had some life left in it . So I didn't want you to wast your money buying a new one at that time. We configure your evaporator coil to be able to work with existing A/C unit moreover be able to work with a new unit in future with just a minor part replacement. We added some return airs and upgraded your ducts system. Based on your own original review that you wrote, system work well and when I talked you after installation you mentioned the house is cooled and heated very evenly now. unfortunately you ended up having problem with your A/C unit (almost a year after) this year. You decided to go with another company which offered you a deep discounted price. Now here is the interesting part. Before they changed your outdoor unit. Your system was working fine. You wanted to replace the outdoor unit because you were afraid it may fails completely over a weekend and had to wait few days without A/C to get it fix (Your own words). They replaced the outdoor unit and now house is not cooling correctly anymore and they blamed it on the DUCT WORK which was done almost A YEAR ago?!!!! 1-So for one year (after our installation) system works fine. 2-They replaced the outdoor unit this year and now system is not cooling well 3-They blamed the problem on the last year’s work? Do you see the irony? System worked fine before their installation and not working properly after their installation but they blame problem on something that was done about a year ago! 4-Duct system delivers the air not cool the air. So if the air is not cool well it is a mechanical issue. Who replaced a mechanical part? They did. 5-it is as if you go to your car mechanic to fix your car’s engine and after repair is done, engine still not working properly and then they would blame the problem on the tires that you had replaced last year!!! I’m afraid to say that they are the one who treated you wrong. They offered you a very deep discounted price on the outdoor unit at the beginning and then came back and sold you an unnecessary duct work and made their money there and at the same time fixed the problem with outdoor unit they had installed making it look like something else was wrong. Furthermore, why didn't you contact me when they made up a story about your ductwork? So I could defend ourselves against their false comments. Why didn't you even call a third company to see what they say about our installation? That would have been a free estimate. I could have also be abled to show you what was wrong with their installation of your outdoor unit. You knew you have warranty on the work we did with us. Why didn't you call and tell me “Shawn this is what they say, I want you to come here and explain this to me and fix whatever needs to be fixed under warranty you gave us” So I could proof to you they are wrong. I’m afraid to say they are the one who treated you wrong. You fell for their original cheap price and paid far more at the end. This would have never happened if you stayed with us or at least made a phone call to me so I could find out what they have done wrong in replacing the outdoor unit. I would never ever treat my clients wrong. I always and I mean always go the distance to make sure my clients are satisfy with our work. I also believe in a higher power and personal integrity. I would never trade that for few extra dollars by short cutting my customers’ work. You can ask that from anyone who ever worked for me. Sorry to see that you were taken advantaged by others. Next time at least make a phone call to you accused and get all the facts before mudding up someone’s reputation. Good day Shawn

They guys arrived in the agreed-upon time window and took care of the problem. They noticed that the problem was more extensive than reported by the inspector for the prospective buyer and asked for permission to fix the entire problem, which we approved. They cleaned up not only the attic area, but also the carpet under the attic stairwell. I was impressed and pleased with the service.
Description of Work: Covered a gap in the sheetmetal of the evaporator coil in the attic. Also secured two straps supporting the airconditioner/furnace which were loose.
