NIGHTMARE! RIPOFF! EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! Ryan Miller "carpenter." Agreed to designing, handcrafting and installing within 4 - 6 weeks time. Hired in March, it is not September 1st. Upon initial payment for work to be done we were encouraged to pay initial payment on entertainment center also, and advised it would speed up the process. We fell for this and paid initial payment on all three projects. Ryan brought 1/4 of the office at the end of July after months of aggregation and sob stories. At that time he collected another $1,000.00. Then he took another month off and not until August 30 & 31, did he bring the bedroom unit 80% complete and in pieces. In the process he spilled paint all over the street, worked on the unit outside in the rain. Then before leaving moved the unit to our garage and spilled white paint on our epoxy coated flekked garage floor. Might I also add that he never works before 2:00 p.m. And usually leaves by 7:00. And might I also add he has physically worked at our house a total of 4 days in the last 5 months. So I have paid in over $7,000.00 on an $11,000.00 combined project. I have 1/4 of an office with no drawers, no glass, no lighting installed, the unit is useless! I have a bedroom set which has been left in pieces and because I got fed up with all the waiting I installed the cabinets myself this afternoon rather than leave caving doors laying all over my daughters bedroom. Ryan drilled holes where pegs can be inserted and a shelf placed on top. The peg holes are not even lined up correctly on an entire side of the unit. That piece has to be replaced and redrilled in order for it to be usable. The cabinets are too short and in order for me to adjust them so that they close flush with each other there is a gap created which looks very unprofessional. He left plastic covers off of all of the electrical outlets and then shoved the unit up against all of the outlets without recovering them, and made cut outs in the unit so that later the face mount can be moved. My 9 yr old daughter was reaching her hand through one of the cut outs to turn out the light and could have severely been injured or killed. He told my wife he was going to bolt down the heavy pieces on the top portion of the unit before he left last night. He never did, and these pieces are insecure and very heavy and can fall on my children or their friends if they rough house in the room and bump into the unit. He left last night without telling anyone he was leaving. Today I received a demand letter which stated if I don't pay him an additional $1,800.00 he will not continue the project any further and will move on to other endeavors. So he wants $9,000.00 in hand on an $11,000.00 job when I don't even have one single project even remotely complete or he is going to discontinue working. He sold us on the job by offering a good deal and sweetened the deal by offering to throw in the hardware. Because he is frustrated with his progress and our empathy not meeting his satisfaction for his excuses, he has included in his letter his recanting of his offer to include the said hardware. In addition he holds me at fault for "13" NSF fees for not receiving payment on time when he was 2 months behind on delivering even a single board to our house. Says will not continue working on my job until I pay for his NSF fees. Then too add more gumption to his claim he says I need to pay him for the time it took him to design our projects! The Nerve of this guy! I'm a landscape contractor and I charge $600 to do a design for someone. If I don't charge them for the design in the beginning, I certainly don't demand compensation after the job has began. This guy is a total looser and out of his mind. Sueing him tomorrow. DO NOT USE THIS GUY! His own family won't even back him up! He acts like a druggy. He is very temperamental, a major whinner, and his business ethic is God aweful. I feel sorry for him as a person, they should be ashamed of themselves for leaving things this way.
