Alamo Fence Company of San Antonio Inc

Our project wasn't huge, but important to us. We were finally connecting our house to the wooden privacy fence in our backyard. We liked the idea of wrought iron over wood at the side entrance(s), as it allowed us a view of side flower beds from the back yard.
Our point of contact, and company representative, was Rick Eslick. Rick was very professional from our first phone conversation to the in person bid. When we decided on a different style wrought iron fencing, from what was originally bid, Rick was very nice and had the revised bid to us immediately. We chose their 6' tall wrought iron fencing with banana split finials, with a gate, on each side of our house. Although Alamo Fence Company's bid was not the lowest, we felt it was very well priced for the quality of materials and workmanship.
With-in a couple of days of accepting the bid we received a call from Rick that work would commence right away. The project was done completed in stages, and each employee/crew that came out were polite, professional and prompt. By August 13th, less than 2 weeks from bid acceptance, our fence was done.
We are thrilled with the final product. The fencing is sturdy, and beautifully finished. We couldn't have asked for a more attractive addition to our landscape, and something we will appreciate for many years to come.
We would highly recommend Alamo Fence Company of San Antonio. To that end, we plan to work with them again when we replace our existing wood fence.

They gave us the most options for what we were looking for. They were local for us. They make the fencing so it is almost like a custom job. They do big and small jobs but do not treat you any differently. The are very polite and courteous. Everything is in writing so that there are no questions.

The fencing project went well, but the gate started twisting shortly after it was installed but Mike corrected the problem the following day after I reported it. I believe they well above what is expected for customer satisfaction. I would quickly recommend this company.

I am very happy with them.

They responded reasonably well in giving me an estimate, but then they went several weeks without a firm start date before actually coming back to do the work. When they did, to my surprise, they had the whole job done in one day - and a quite excellent job as best I can tell. A month or so later, as the soil shifted in the drought, they returned the morning after my call to adjust the gate at no additional charge.

They're certainly not the cheapest ones out there, and I would not recommend them in a real emergency - if your fence is actually falling down. But if you can stand the wait, they take the time to understand your needs and explain your options, do a thoroughly professional job quickly (once they start) with excellent clean-up afterwards, and they stand behind their work. I would not hesitate to call on them again.

They responded unlike some other companies. They were polite and efficient. They cleaned up and they did exactly what they said they would do. They were accommodating in every way. I would give them a hundred percent rating. They did the job within the time specified and at the agreed upon price. When the guy said he would call, he called us. We would use them again.

Based on our 3 quotes from fencing companies, my husband and I had decided we were going to have Alamo Fence Company install our fencing needs for us. Robert come out (3/14/11) to meet with my husband to confirm a few changes with where one of the gates would go, which was different from where Robert and I had discussed on our first visit for the initial bid on 3/1/11. After going over everything with Robert, we sat down and he drew up a revised quote for us which didn't change any of the pricing. We had discussed down payment and what had to be done on our end (Rocks and tree removal from the back fence line) in order to get started. On Mon 3/21/11, Robert calls my husband to inform him that both quotes he had given us, he made an error and the price is now ($12,204). $5102 more than he quoted us initially (twice). He said he left a number off on our last 2 quotes and this was the revised quote. I was in shock! I find this to be very unprofessional and unethical. I am shocked that he didn't check his #'s before sending us his initial quote on 3/1/11. This revised quote has put Alamo Fence Co. higher than the other two companies. Obviously, we will not use Alamo Fence Co. for our fencing needs. I am very upset that this didn't come up until after we agreed on the price he gave us a week earlier. I understand mistakes, but $5102.00 is a HUGE error. Someone from Alamo Fence Company should have caught this early on so we could have made our decision on which company to use based on valid quotes. Had we known how much higher Alamo Fence Co. was going to be, we wouldn't have had him come out the second time and committed to them doing our fence. So we are now going to have to start this whole process over again, when we were expecting to have the work begin within the next week or so. I would be very careful if you use this company. Please check the numbers yourself so you are not deceived as my husband and I have been. When Robert called my husband on 3/21/11 to tell him that our fence quote had changed, my husband told him that this put them so much higher than the others. Robert made no attempt to ask or try to negotiate with what the other companies had quoted in order to keep our business, which leads me to believe they are not concerned about the error that THEY made. The fact that they waited until right before we were going to begin the work to notify us is very wrong.

I obtained estimates from three San Antonio fence companies. All were highly-rated by Angie's List. Of the three the Alamo Fence Company was the most punctual and professional when they came to my house to give me a quote. Their quote was slightly higher than the other two companies but based upon the quality of their work, the speed with which they completed the job (two days), and the professionalism of their staff (I dealt with Robert Muchow), it was worth it. They hauled off the old fence and posts and cleaned up when they were done. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again if the need arises.

I was very pleased with Alamo Fence Company of San Antonio. The guy gave me an estimate was extremely competent. The guys that installed the fence did a good job. They worked fast. The one guy that installed the fence, Rick, did a very good job. I had contacted three other fence companies and they never gave me an estimate. Alamo Fence came right out and gave me a good estimate. They were here when they said they were going to be. They had three crews, one for the chain link fence and the post, one to install the fence, and one to install the iron picket fence in the front. They then had another crew paint the fence when it was completed. Everybody, did a great job. They communicated well. Having dealt with contractors before, I was really pleased.

They were totally awesome. They are not cheap. They were really nice. They came on time. They got everything done. It was exactly what we wanted. They were very quick.

I contacted the company, asked for a free estimate, they actually sent someone out to meet with me and measure the fence, listen to my wants, questions, concerns, they gave suggestions, left me with a written estimate and price guarantee of 30 days. My neighbor returned from vacation, had Alamo come back out and added additional fencing to the estimate, we all agreed, and paid 1/2 down. Alamo came out the following day, removed the old fence and had the posts dug by the time I got home from work. On the second day, the fence and gates were completed. We are all extremely happy with our fence and plan to call them again to replace the rest of our fencing. They also give a 1 year warranty.

The change was made but the lock mechanism and the opening/closing mechanism did not work properly. They came back promptly and the gate worked to my satisfaction.

This company did a GREAT job. On time and got it done.
