Terms of the contract were misrepresented. I had to pay 400 to cancel contract, even though I was having to relocate. I would strong recommend never to use this company.

I called on May 13 to cancel my service and told them there was absolutely no way I would remain a customer.  They did not cancel the service as requested, and have continued to bill me.  I had to call again and cancel again, but because they still had a record of the original call I told them I would not pay for an additional month's service.  I had already given them 30 days notice of my cancellation.

We used ADT for several years without issue.  When we relocated to a
temporary apartment we had a system installed and monitored.  Our
understanding was that the services were being moved over from our old
location, where we had fulfilled our contract.  We when went to cancel
our services (since it was a temporary apartment), we were told we had
to pay a $700 cancellation fee for terminating the contract.  There was
no way we would have intentionally signed a 3-year agreement for a
temporary space and their representative only went over the monthly
charge with us (which was the same as our prior location).  ADT has been awful about this, stating only that we signed a 3 year agreement (buried in the 4th paragraph of the agreement and contrary to what we had been told).  I would stay clear from ADT at all costs as a monitoring company.  What a horrible experience.  One of the worst I can remember with any service provider.

I thought everything was great and I thought I was getting a good deal. After a few months, I encountered multiple accounting issues and I found the same system for half of the price that they charged me. I did not realize I was signing a three year contract and I felt that it was very deceiving. I have been very disappointed with this company. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The customer service is not helpful at all and causes way too much trouble.

I would NEVER recommend ADT Security to anyone wanting a company with reliable and trust-worty service.  The Sales Rep, Victoria Willis, lied.  Her attitude and disposition were highly unprofessional, and her lack of response has been just plain ride.  The installation department is discourteous, given no consideration to people's time.  The Customer Service department talks to you as if they are reading a script and nothing more.  DO NOT WORK WITH ADT.

11/7/2012 Update:  In filing our official complaint with the Better Business Bureau, we have discovered that there are over 1600 complaints about this local ADT office in the last 12 months!  More than 4000 in the last 3 years!

The initial install was part of the remodel of the house. I was not present. The "upgrade" was scheduled for October 2011. We never proceeded but bills and collection calls kept coming and it took extreme effort on my part to resolve the dispute in my favor. I came close to legal action.

I have been overall satisfied with my experiences with ADT. They have done everything I have asked them to. They most recently changed how the system was being monitored. They responded promptly. They got it done correctly the first time.

After using ADT for several years with no major incident, our alarm panel started turning off because of a power issue. After calling the service center and making an appointment (two days later), a service tech showed up (between 12 and 5) and said it was a battery issue and replaced the battery. Later that day I get another call from ADT that they are getting a no power signal, and I should wait until I get home to let the battery charge enough to re-set. After getting home at 6pm there was still no power to the keypad and I called the service center yet again. After going through the possible issues (unplug the system, check the breaker, etc,) she says it must be in the plug box and do I want to make an appointment for 2 days later between 12 adn 5pm. I think this issue should have been resolved with my first service call that I scheduled and shouldn't have to be without my alarm for another 2 days. Why send people that don't know what they're doing to fix my alarm? This means to me that not only is my time not valuble but they are willing to waist it not once but twice! I asked if someone could come out the same day as we had already waited for two days and the prob wasn't fixed. Her responce "uh, its 6pm on a Friday, no one's gonna show up today... I can make an appointment for Tuesday between 12 and 5" Thanks alot.

The experience has been great. They came when they said they would. They did what they said they were going to do. They did the job fast. There was an existing system they just used their monitors. They did the job in about half a day. The solicitation was annoying but the installation and service has been fine.

I thought that they were not going to be up to fixing the alarm system that was already there. I thought that they were going to make me pay for a new one. They were happy to do it and they did it perfectly and quickly. I am extremely satisfied with their willingness to help me out. They did a great job

We've never had to use them in terms of responding to an alarm, but everything about them has been satisfactory. It is very comforting to know that we will be protected if we're ever threatened in some way. Everything is spelled out very clearly in our contract with them and that is helpful.

The guy that came out to perform the service was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. The installation tech was very quick and did the work quite efficiently. I do get a discount with ADT through my insurance agency, USAA.

The salesman was nice, but did not return phone calls promptly. I had to leave messages repeatedly before he would return a call. The installer was friendly and efficient, although he did make a hole in the roof during the installation process. The Customer Monitoring Center is very helpful and eager to answer questions and offer assistance.

They are very efficient and quick to respond. Call first to make sure no one is home and alarm is a valid one, so you don't end up paying a false alarm fee.

Half price discount through USAA. On time installation. Courteous, professional installer. I would rather not have had to have the service, but I appreciate the discount. I also wanted CO detection, but it was extra cost and there was not a package that allowed swapping motion detection for it; we did not want motion detection because of pets.

I've had the system or a number of years. When I had a new front door installed, the installer broke a wire. ADT said it would cost $25 for travel, $107 service fee, and $27.50 for every half hour that the tech was out. I just think those prices are way too high. Their monthly fee is fine, but this charge was too high.

OVERALL, THE EXPERIENCE WITH ADT SECURITY MONITORING SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. THE SECURITY SYSTEM IS RUNNING GREAT. WHEN OUR MOTION DETECTOR SOUNDED THE ALARM, ADT CONTACTED US AND DISPATCHED THE LOCAL POLICE.

THE SALESMAN WAS PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND NOT PUSHY. THE INSTALLATION WENT FINE AND I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THEIR SERVICE AND WITH ADTS MONITORING SERVICE AS WELL. I THINK THEIR MONITORING SYSTEM IS SECOND TO NONE. THEY SEND US HELPFUL NEWSLETTERS AND ENCOURAGE US TO TEST OUR SYSTEM.
