Oak Hills tried a difference chemical approach, and it seems to have worked. Time will tell. The exterminator explained what he was doing and why he thought it might work better for us. He seemed knowledgable and very professional.

I called out Oak Hills Pest control last summer (July 2009) for carpenter ants that were invading a wood porch on the rear of my house. They came out, assessed the situation and recommended a Termidor SC treatment. The cost was 541.00 including tax. While this seemed expensive they said it was the best treatment for carpenter ants and came with a one-year warranty. They advised this type of treatment would usually help keep the ants away for about three years. I agreed to the quote and they applied the treatment. This type of treatment is only done on the outside of the house. The ants all disappeared within about 10 days. Earlier this month, I noticed a different type of ant on the same porch. I called them back out hoping this type of ant was covered under the warranty. The service tech looked it up and found that the ants (acrobat ant) were not covered under the treatment they applied last summer. However, they still went ahead and applied another treatment free of charge. The ants are now gone. I will call them for any of my pest/insect problems.

Just moved into a new house and saw ants inside. Called Oak Hills for a quote and service. They immediately responded and gave a quote for services. They did the work the same day and the ants went away. When we had our lawn replaced the next week, the ants returned. Called Oak Hills again, they came right back, within 1 hour of my phone call, and retreated the house for free. They have a 60 day warranty. Apparently, the lawn replacement managed to remove some of the treatment, therefore the ants were able to come back in. Since the re-treatment I have not seen any ants.
