When you look at all the work that was done the price may not seem too bad, however, when the quality of work is taken into consideration and that this was labor and SOME materials, I was greatly overcharged for the work which was done. First you must know that my house is very small, only 1250 square feet in all. I had recently inherited the house and needed to update/remodel before I could move in. This was a two month long job. There were several days where Mr. Elmore either worked only half a day or did not show up at all, and did not notify me. We got off on the wrong foot early on and the project turned into a nightmare after that. Mr. Elmore became quite upset when I insisted on hiring an electrician to do some electrical work. Mr. Elmore told me "I can do anything", but when I asked if he was a licensed electrician he stated no. I insisted on hiring an electrician to replace some light fixtures and instal an outlet. This seemed to upset Mr. Elmore and after that we had terrible communication between the two of us and the quality of work he was doing seemed to go down hill. I told him I did not want the original wood work in the house painted, but he painted the kitchen window woodwork anyway. He used the wrong color wood putty on all the doorways which left these horrible thumb print sized spots on all the doorways which looks terrible. Considering the woodwork was not to be painted, there was no reason for him to do anything to them. They did not need any wood putty. Now, two years later, every day I see these horrible spots on all my doorways and it angers me so terribly. One day I will need to hire someone else to come in and fix what he did. When he installed the new sink in the kitchen and tub in the bathroom he left the plumbing loose and made other plumbing mistakes which have resulted in my having to pay a plumber to come out now a total of 3 times to fix various things he did wrong. Every day I wonder what is going to happen next as a result of Mr. Elmore's work. I have run out of space to go into the other things that have gone wrong. To make things even worse, at the end of the job Mr. Elmore tried to tack an additional three thousand dollars to the bill. Luckily I had been keeping track of the payments and paid him only the agreed upon contract price. However, this does make me wonder how many clients has he done this to?? Please do not make my mistake. If you are looking for a contractor, continue your search and find someone else. I regret hiring Mr. Elmore and feel like this nightmare will never end.
