We had spent a couple of months looking for the right granite for the bathrooms and had spoken to several fabricators/installers and were somewhat disappointed.  The main reason being that everyone seemed to want to upsell their products even knowing we were on a tight budget.

We were shopping for tile one afternoon and just happend to run into a designer who was picking out products for her client and in general discussion she said we should go check out Toluca;  she had had great success with them.  A few days later we did and were plesantly surprised.  Upon indicating we were on a tight budget they recommended a couple of stone yards with good pricing and recommended the types of stone we should be looking at., as well as, those to stay away from due to high cost and maintenance.  This in and of itself was very refreshing.

Initally, Toulca came out to measure for the countertops, made the necessary templates and a couple of weeks later installed them in a couple of hours.  We were so pleased with them that we decided to push the budget a little and have granite pieces cut and installed for the window sill, pony wall and curb of the shower.  Now the granite flows throughout the master bath and looks beautiful against the travertine tile.  Their staff was, professional, on time,  friendly, careful and cleaned up the work areas, both inside and out.

Toluca was very responsive to our needs and made every effort to accommodate us.  Lauren and Honorato were both a pleasure to work with and wish them much success in the future.

I had Toluca Granite install granite countertops in my two secondary bathrooms.  The countertops were in the range of 38 - 42 inches long.  The cost of both bathrooms - removing the old countertops and faucets, and installing the granite counters with undermount sinks (included in the price), was $614.  The key to this low price is choosing granite from their remnant yard.

I worked with Lauren.  She, and the other staff, couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating.  I visited the yard countless times looking over the remnant selections.  Each time I was treated as if I was a large, expensive job.  I chose granite and had to delay the job for over a month, but Lauren was always helpful and accommodating.

When I  had the granite counters installed, the installers covered my floors and took the utmost care in protecting my home.  They were very professional.

I hired a plumber to install the faucets.

Friends and family comment on how beautiful my bathrooms are.  I recommend Toluca Granite to everyone.  I am getting ready to remodel my kitchen and master bath, and Toluca Granite is my only choice.

We are very pleased with the work that was done. I called and got estimates from 3 companies before deciding on Toluca. Lauren was really easy to work with, made good suggestions, and made it easy for us to go out and choose our granite at a nearby supplier (Shenoy Granite: http://www.shenoygranites.com/). That visit saved us money since we discovered that we really liked St. Cecilia Dark granite, which is one of the cheapest varieties (be ready to look at dozens of kinds!).

Lauren's husband, Honorato, was at our home within a couple of days of our selection, took all the measurements and made templates, and was back 2 days later and did the entire installation within 24 hours. Everything looks great. The final product looks even better than we anticipated, and in the end, I was quite surprised at how reasonably priced the job was.

Having said that, I should inform the list that when Toluca Granite is done, you will need to bring in other workers (Toluca can supply you with names). Toluca just does the granite and sinks with holes drilled for your faucets. They had to remove some mirrors for our job, but didn't put them back. You'll need to have someone install the faucets if that's not something you do yourself. In our case, we hired plumbers to install 6 faucets and hook up the gas to the stove, and it was an all-day affair that set us back about $620. The same goes for getting your back splash done.

Nevertheless, I would definitely work with Toluca again. I knew from the outset that they only do the countertops. Lauren has also given us the name of someone to call for the back splash, which is the next step of this project.

BTW, it's best to communicate with Toluca by email: [email protected]

I scheduled a Wednesday appointment with the owner's wife on Monday morning.  She emailed me at 4 pm on Tuesday to cancel the appointment due to lack of man power to remove the center island piece.  It creates a huge scheduling problem for me because my cabinet installer cannot start his work until the countertop is off.  It is very unprofessional for her to cancel an appointment at the very last minute.
Response from Toluca Granite

"We are so sorry for the inconvenience this person experienced, but the appointment was made subject to availability as this is not a service we normally provide which was explained at the time."

We met with them and they referrd us to several stone yards. We met with them after choosing the piece of soap stone. They helped us figure out all the details for the counter tops. They also got the sinks at a very good price. It went really well and their help was really invaluable. They have excellant taste and design ideas which were similar to my own. We had several meeting and phone and email communications. They are very responsive to even the smallest issue. The owner oversaw the installation of the counter tops. They are wonderful to work with and I have already recomended them to several friends. They were very good at communicating with the contractor and having everything proceed with no problems

I had shopped for granite countertops in some big-box stores, but wasn't happy with the selection, the prices, or the amount of input I had to the process. And the wait times were at least 6 weeks. So I decided to explore other options. The whole experience with Toluca Granite was wonderful. I wasn't too sure how to go about the process, so I called Toluca Granite to ask some questions. Lauren was wonderful and explained how to get started. I effectively had an unlimited selection to choose from since I could choose granite at any yard and Toluca would work with them to come up with a quote. I selected a granite I loved, and asked the yard to hold it for me. Then I contacted Toluca and they worked with the granite yard on a price and provided me with a very reasonable quote. Once my kitchen remodel was far enough along to be ready for countertops, they were there to make templates of the countertops within days. And the fabrication time was a matter of a week or so, compared to the 6-week quote at a big box store. The counters fit almost perfectly -- just one or two very small adjustments on site and the job was done. The crew was polite, prompt, and efficient. I'm completely satisfied. Toluca Granite is a small, family-run operation. It shows in their personal service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, and will use them again when I get around to bathroom countertops.

I emailed Toluca Granite at about 10pm one evening, for help with a quick, simple job of widening the opening in an existing granite countertop. By 9am the next morning they had emailed me and said that they would love to help, but were booked solid for the next two days, but were going to try and squeeze it in between jobs. 30 min later, the installer (David) called me and said he was 30 min away and could do it right now. David arrived with two other installers. They were VERY thorough, setup plastic throughout the kitchen to minimize dust, brought their own vacuum, and 20 min later the granite was cut perfectly. David even offered to help me install the sink and even left a tube of their professional grade sealant with me. It was a small job, but service like this is what makes these companies A rated on Angies List. I will DEFINITELY be calling them again in the future.

This work was part of a total remodel to the kitchen, making many decisions as to layout and updating. Honorato and his crew were very helpful and patient, coming back like four times to assist me in choosing which counters to cover, backsplash heights, sink details and edges!! I cannot recommend him more highly! His work is excellent, thorough, very quick and priced great!! I just purchased a new home and he will be doing the granite for both my bathroom and the new kitchen...
