They gave me an excellent option to completely replacing a window, which saved me a lot of money.

Although there are many options for glass and window replacement in Austin, we found The Glass Guru to be the most competitively priced and professional. We initially called them for a quote to repair one window at our rental property. Although their rates were slightly lower than another company, we (at first) made an appointment with another company, which was a mistake. The other company did not show or call. Lesson learned, we called The Glass Guru. Stefanie worked with us to schedule our repair and even adjusted the estimate to include an additional window once our tenants notified us more than one window was broken. In all our communications and interactions, Stefanie was very professional and accommodating. She even called to give us a heads up about their office hours so that we would not make an unnecessary trip to their office after closing.
The installers showed up right on time and were friendly and efficient. As they removed the old windows, they made sure to carefully clean up all glass in and around our home. This installation proved to be difficult due to the age of our home, but the installers were persistent and got the work done. They even scheduled a followup appointment to re-putty some areas to ensure that the new windows would seal properly.
Thus far, we've had no complaints from our tenants and the new windows look great. We highly recommend The Glass Guru--- in this case, competitive prices and quality really do go hand in hand.

When I used him a year ago I was happy with his work.  I had called a bunch of people and nobody was interested in doing the screen.  Some others said they would be out and they did not show up.  But the Glass Guru came when he said he was going to, he took care of the problem.  I thought he was reasonably priced so I called him again.

We've had fogged windows for many years and always thought we had to replace the entire window which is extremely expensive when dealing with many windows.  We found out that you can simply replace the fogged window glass without having to replace the entire window.  Michael from The Glass Guru came by to inspect all of the windows and was very knowledgeable as to the reasons the windows fog over time.  He provided a couple options to replace or restore the glass.  We ended up replacing all the glass.  The crew arrived exactly on time and replaced the glass rather fast.  The difference in the clarity of the glass is incredible.  Now we always want to the have the blinds open.  It was a pleasure dealing with Michael and the entire Glass Guru team.

The gentleman (owner) was professional and knowledgeable and explained how most double pane windows that face the sun will eventually leak, allowing the factory installed inert gas to escape and moisture to enter.  He came back on the scheduled day (4/4/2012), installed the tiny valves and now, on 4/29/2012, the moisture that was obvious before between the glass panes has escaped and is no longer visible.  I thought it was a tad expensive, given it was just a few tiny valves, BUT it is worth it to avoid taking the big widow out, having it cleaned and re-sealed!

estimators proficient and pricing was very competitive.  Installers arrived at agreed upon date and time and finished after all-day, non-stop, work.  efficient clean up when project was finished.  would definitively use again.

All work was well very well done at a very reasonable price (I compared estimates). Follow through was good, install went exactly as promised. Now I have clear windows.

The installer for Glas Guru, named Gorge, did great work, and was very professional.  Our house is on a hill and these windows are 3 stories above the slanted ground below.  Gorge removed and replaced all windows from the inside of the house.  He was careful with his work and cleaned up when he finished.  I would definitely use the Glass Guru again.
Note --- I really liked that the appointments were confirmed by e-mail, and both Michael and Gorge arrived right on time.

Immediate response to my phone call with the Marketing Manager coming to the home to provide a quote.  I was impressed at that point.  Numerous window units had the seal malfunction or fail, and the inner area had condensation and was cloudy.  He counted the number of units that needed replacement, determined that the 2nd floor units would require more than one laborer, and probably scaffolding, and provided a quote of $635.05 for the glass units, and $720 for labor.  He rationalized that the second floor units would be very difficult to replace causing the higher labor quote. 

On repair day, the laborer was 1 ½ hour late, prompting a call by me to the office.  I was told he was just leaving the shop and was on his way.  When he arrived, he was very nice, well prepared, and alone.  He replaced all 13 units in about 2 hours without having to go outside the house.  His work was top quality, and he was indeed a pro. I was very disturbed with the labor quote I?d received, but had agreed to the quote on the work order and paid the company.  He was recommended by my real estate agent, and I advised her of my displeasure with the company.

I needed 2 windows replaced and the quote I received was based on installation of both at the same time.  Due to damage in one pane ordered, this wasn't possible.  However, the work was still done at the same price quoted.  I appreciated that.

We discovered we had many dual-paned windows with slight to moderate water damage and decided to get them all repaired at once, and had a quick deadline. We went with the best estimate and were not disappointed, as is many times the case. To meet our deadline, The Glass Guru of Austin, Michael Kugler, communicated well and made concessions to get the materials and labor scheduled. He was very professional when assessing the project, and handling all the details. He was very knowledgeable and offered good information for replacing the damaged windows, including removal of the custom shutters ahead of time to allow room for the windows to be removed and replaced. Care was taken not to mar the window trim, and special attention was paid to not disturb landscaping in front of some of the windows. They had the right materials and equipment, and there was no mess when they left. I had an opportunity to test all the windows before they left and there were no problems. Michael showed up to greet his installers, introduce them to me and go over each window with them before they began. He was easy to reach and prompt to return calls or emails. When I had trouble locking a window that same week, I called Michael who came right over and checked it, and it was a simple adjustment that ended up unrelated to the repair work! He was concientious and wanted to assure we were happy with the job they did. Courteous, intelligent, neat, timely,and professional decribe our experience. Their website is extremely informative and they offer new and innovative services for glass care I never even knew existed! Wish we'd done it sooner! With the type of windows we have we will undoubtedly have to do this again, and it's nice to have an established relationship to count on!
