I like them. I have one of their machines and they come and work on it every year for maintenance and they are very good. When we moved to our new house, they moved it for us. My experience with them was very good.

My husband was impressed with the system.  We used the reverse osmosis system all the time and made a difference in the taste of the water.  They were always very helpful.  They were easy to get a hold of.  It was a reasonable time for work requested and the work to be completed.  They were reasonable priced for a rain soft dealer.

Salesman was referred through Home Depot free water test. He was professional and not pushy. The system is a lot more expensive than a traditional water softener but we decided it was what we want. Installation was on time and professional.

It was a great experience overall. The first tank that they installed was defective so we had to call them but they came out a few days ago and replaced it. When the tank was installed, the explanation of how everything works and what we need to do to maintain it was somewhat unclear. They will come out and do a consultation and test your water and other members of Angie's List should do that and they have some pretty shocking things to share to you. It is just good to see that and you would really feel the difference. They will show you the difference before you buy the product.

I was one of those that got hooked by the free water test and $20 Home Depot gift card. They called me on the number I provided on the card, and told me that while my water wasn't all that hard, it did have a fair amount of chlorine and total dissolved solids. Based on that, I agreed to have the rep come out and check for free.
The rep was an hour late, and so we had to schedule the second half of the in-home water testing for the next day. All went pretty well, but I noticed the "pure" soap that they use for the suds demo has quite a few other ingredients in it (I make soap; if contains anything more than saponified oils and water, it isn't pure). The water that came out of the rep's mini softener had that awful softened water taste that really old softeners give off, but I was willing to look past that. He also put quite a few more drops than he should have during the hardness test that no doubt increased the grains reading. Despite the high-pressure sales tactics and gimmicks like "5 years" of free soap (good luck using all of it before it goes rancid if you're a single dude like me), I considered the prices of other systems and decided to schedule installation of a computerized softener system and reverse osmosis system under the kitchen sink.
That same day, the rep came back to my house to ask if I could change the time to something much earlier. Thankfully they do Sunday installation and I had nothing else going on, otherwise I would have said no. The installation crew that arrived the next day was pretty courteous and informative for the most part. They left without incident.
Not 12 hours later, the drinking water faucet at the kitchen sink was gurgling for what seemed like hours. I had to shut off the intake and called Sweetwater to fix it. I asked them to call me 30 mins before arriving, but the plumber said he'd be at my house in 10-15 minutes when he called...and then showed up almost an hour late with no explanation or even an introduction. The issue is fixed now, but I'm not sure for how long.
Communication and punctuality seem to be an issue for Sweetwater. Just keep that in mind when scheduling a visit.

I was/am in the market for a water softener and I was told by one of my neighbors that Home Depot offered a free in-home consultation. I called my local store and left my info with their plumbing department and was able to schedule a visit that same day. I was told that it would take 30-40 mins tops and that my wife would need to be present as well, which i found to be odd. The salesman (third party company, not home depot) showed up on time and proceeded to conduct test after test after test. I was under the impression that they would come, check out the current configuration of my plumbing, test the water hardness and provide a recommendation. This so called 30 min consultation lasted over 2 and a half hours. For two and a half hours, my wife and I had to sit and listen to the most salesy sales pitch I have ever heard. I am in sales and it was brutal. By the second test, I got the picture. My water was horrible, unsafe, and unclean. No matter what I said, the sales man continued to barrage me with more and more useless info. I called to get info on a water softener and ended up spending all night hearing about a dechlorinator, reverse osmosis filtration system, etc.
As bad and uncomfortable the meeting was, I was still interested in the product. The salesman closed extremely hard for the sale. I'm not sure about other people, but I am definitely not one to make a big dollar purchase, especially $6,500, without doing my homework on the company and the product. He offered a bunch of their soap products as a promotion to get us to sign. When I declined to sign, his whole mood changed. It seemed as if he was shocked that I wasn't going to buy right there. He quietly packed up he stuff, didn't say a word, shook my hand and headed right for the door.
Here's the kicker... I stopped him and asked him for a card. His response? "You aren't going to buy." He literally refused to give me his card because I wouldn't buy on the spot. Are you kidding me? I was shocked! I just wanted to cross my T's and dot my I's and make sure I made a smart educated purchase, and this is how I should be treated? He then told me if he wanted the number to "google it". Wow. I have never felt so disrespected in my whole life. I will never do business with this company and I suggest all who read this review to avoid doing so as well. I will buy a water treatment system, but not from them. I will inform Home Depot about my experience.

Months later I realized the tank was cracked.  I drove to their office to pickup a new tank.  I had called and prearranged the sale, but they were not prepared when I arrived.  They looked around the warehouse and got me a tank, but I don't think it was the correct size or new.
I have had to use them several times as they are the only service provider for Rainsoft equipment, but I don't think my system has ever really worked properly and I don't want to spend any more money with them. Every service person that has come out, has said the previous person didn't hook something up correctly.  I don't feel confident in the equipment or the service and would not recommend them.

I had been happy with the yearly maintenance of my water softener system with this company but recent experience was not good. Last Fall I had requested that the water system be completely turned off. A technician came, winterized the unit and told me the system was turned off. In April of this year, the system started beeping and an indicator light read that the charcoal filter needed changing. I called the office and inquired how the system could be beeping if it had been turned off? The office person told me to unplug the plug in back of the unit. I could not find the plug. An appt (4/26/12) was made to stop the beeping. A technician came out and showed me that the plug was inside the unit. He took less than 5 seconds to unplug the plug. I was charged $45.00 -trip travel charges and an additional labor charge for one hour-$55.00.     On 4/27/12. I emailed the office stating I thought the charges were unreasonable and would they consider reducing the charges. As of 5/08/12 I have received no response from the company.

The Sweet Water Filtration System staff are very knowledgeable and their filtration equipment is the best. However we were disappointed that we were required to pay up front only to wait almost a month before the installation was completed.

I just call Rain Soft when I am having a problem with the water softener. I can usually tell when it is not working properly in my sinks. They just come out here and make adjustments. They will also change the filters and add salt. I am happy with the service. The workers are always helpful and friendly. They are usually here in a day after I call them.

I am happy with the service that is provided to us by Rain Soft. They are a professional company. I never worry that the workers will not do a good job. Often, it is the same guy that comes here. He is very nice and friendly. It is nice to be able to trust people who come into our home.
