I have been in business for 30 years. I am an old school craftsman that is detail oriented. I do all the installations with my helpers. I am creative and do custom designs as well as inlays that I make. I am insured, professional and do one job at a time. This will make certain that your job is completed on time. [Member Name Removed] I am not sure why you gave us a B rating for responsiveness, punctuality, professionalism and quality on your job. I came out to meet you the very day that you called me. We were on the job every morning at 7:00 am other than when I would come out to level your floors. I also came out to prep the floors in between other jobs. Your floors were so un even that there was extensive floor prep which I showed you personally. This is what drove your final cost up. You also told me you were very happy with our work. I also accommodated you when you were not happy with the match of your first choice of wood. I returned your first order at no charge and brought in a new wood. I also accommodated you when your other contractors were not finished on time and moved my schedule around to meet your needs. I feel that we gave you excellent service. Please help me to understand because we strive for excellence.

Al was a pleasure to work with, and a true craftsman. Al is meticulous, knowledgeable, courteous, a true professional. Al removed some ceramic tile in our dining room and entry way, and installed glued-down Brazilian Walnut hardwood throughout our entire downstairs area. We have a radius slab step-down into our living room. Al custom made the radius nosing for an obscenely reasonable sum of money. His wood-working is fantastic. Al does everything by himself, so you can be assured you are going to get a quality install. Not a group of people working as fast as they can to make a buck.

Project went very smoothly once we decided exactly what we wanted to do. Al delivered the flooring a few days in advance then installed it on the scheduled date. Everything including the trim was complete in 2 days. There was no disruption to our home, he cleaned up every sign of work being done, and left us with the minor job of filling the nail holes on the trim and doing touch-up painting. A complete success in every way! NOTE: Al is a singer and blues guitar player at night, appearing all over Austin with his band. Support our local musicians!
Description of Work: Al helped us pick out the best type of hardwood flooring to install in place of some old carpeting in a 14' x 22' room on the second floor. He ordered the flooring. We removed the old carpeting and added screws to the existing plywood to eliminate squeaks and other noises. We also provided the wooden cove base trim and painted it. He then installed all the flooring and the cove base.

Al Monti is the very best you can get. He was always on time, on budget, considerate. His workmanship is excellent. I have studied ever inch he installed and cannot fault a single spot. I would certainly use him again and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Al was a pro from beginning to end. We had the flooring on our sunroom redone. This room was an add-on from the original owners (before us) that is on an uneven surface. We have pets that hang out a lot in this room, so easy cleaning maintenance was important. Al came out and offered us various options and showed us some flooring samples, giving us the option to go look at more. We picked Feather Step laminate flooring. Al was friendly and obviously cared out about the quality of his work. His emails for scheduling the initial visit, quote, and installation date were to-the-point, which busy people like us appreciate. We are very happy with the results and would call out Al again for future flooring needs.
