Every time they have come out it’s $1000+. We have replaced every part of our septic now, yet our light keeps coming on and they can’t tell us why, other than high water level and they don’t know. Very frustrating. I signed a year long contract to get an initial discount and will be cancelling as soon as possible.

They arrived within two hours after I called for the service. Clogging was solved in half an hour. They came again two days to have the failed valves replaced. I also used their service later. All their people are professional and friendly.

Our septic alarm went off one day unexpectedly. Since we had had the tank pumped out just a year before and had a wiring repair and new float installed (by different septic companies) we were really not expecting any problems. But the alarm when off and when we investigated we saw that the holding tank was full of water....I did a quick search on Angie's list for a new septic company as they last 2 we had were a little dodgy and I called SOS at 9 am in the morning. They had someone out at our home by 11. In order to fully diagnose the problem they of course had to pump out the system which their tech did cleanly and efficiently. He was then able to diagnose the problem - our pump had died and the float switch that we had paid another company to install less than a year earlier was done incorrectly - which actually led to the death of our pump (the float switch controls when the pump comes on and off - get the wrong kind installed incorrectly and your pump is endlessly cycling on and off - which shortens the life of the expensive pump dramatically. The tech talked me through the problems and showed me all of the parts that were done incorrectly - including having wiring for the pump down in system vs having in outside of the system in a water tight box like it should have been. He promised to return later in the day with a new pump and install it. I was a little nervous as he drove away - but crossed my fingers that he would return like he said he would. Sure enough later in the afternoon he reappeared. During the time he was gone they had pulled the original plans for our septic system with the city and discovered that the pump that we had been using was woefully inadequate for the system - so a previous owner of our house had had some repairs/new pump put in and it was the wrong one and undersized to serve the needs of our system. Mind you we have had 2 other septic systems out and had an inspection when we first moved in and no one bothered to check to see if the pump was the right one....until SOS figured it out. He brought the new pump, and installed it. He brought the correct float switch and installed it. He then moved all of the wiring out of the holding tank where it never should have been and moved it into its own water tight box next to the holding tank. He cleaned up everything and was incredibly polite and knowledgeable during the entire time he was on our property. I really liked the tech and will definitely be hiring SOS for any future septic needs as a result. To contrast this great service with SOS with our last 2 septic companies- the first company we had out last year came late, did the pumping and said we had a bad float switch. Installed a new switch (which as it turns out was the wrong type of our system and eventually cost us the pump!). The second company we had out about 6 months later said we had a wiring problem and refused to do anything with wiring and made rude comments like "I smell money" when he opened up the septic system. Ugh! SOS was on time, clean, neat, polite and very efficient. Really no comparison!!!

SOS folks were friendly on the phone and prompt but left me in the same situation I was in less $315. After pumping out our tank (which they do to enable the technician to work on the pump), the technician looked at the outer cover of my pump on the wall and said he could not work on that particular brand. While I can understand if there is some specialized service that needs to work on this unit it would have been nice if SOS had mentioned this before they pumped my tank, which I will have to do again for the specialized servicer. At the end of the day SOS charged me $315 to come out and tell me they can't fix my problem. I also asked if they could give a discount of some sort to re-pump the tank when the specialty septic guy has to come out, but they said they would not. All said, they did pump the tank, but given that they couldn't work on the pump it didn't do us any good.

Snowden is the real deal! I was using a competitor for the past year as they were a few dollars cheaper on their annual maintenace contract. However, when I actually had a problem they couldn't figure out why my Perc Rite septic was not emptying into the drain field. The competitor gave me a quote that had them replacing parts and fittings that in the end didn't need to be replaced - I could tell something just wasn't right. I had Snowden come out and their tech Michael was able to identify the problem and get my septic system back on track the same day that I called asking for help! I was bracing myself for a large bill as the competitor wanted to charge me >$800 - what a pleasant surprise to see the amt came to $417.84! I just cancelled my maintenance agreement with the competitor and will be using Snowden exclusively going forward!

I called late in the day as my septic alarm was going off. The woman who answered the phone was extremely kind, and worked really hard at finding a crew to come over immediately. They were at my home within an hour of my call!

We were buying a new house and wanted the septic tank pumped and inspected. These guys were prompt and professional. They did a pre-pumping inspection, then they had their guys pump it out, then they did a post-pumping inspection. They seemed very thorough and everything was done to our satisfaction. The sellers paid for the pumping out, so that's why our approx cost listed is low.

I use them as they are close by. I give them high ratings and I would use them again in the future.

I am actually very glad it didn't work out. We found our own designer and installer through referrals. The septic irrigation community is a very tight knit community. Not one designer or installer had anything positive to say about S.O.S. and almost all of which consistently hear they overcharge for nearly every service call no matter how in which the issue stemmed. For example, my septic maintenance company will not charge me for an overflow service call. The basic understanding is an overflow should not happen if the maintenance is properly and thoroughly done as contracted. I've heard S.O.S. charged hundreds of dollars to get them out there for issues which should not arise had the septic system been properly serviced.

Overall, I do not feel like this company is honest, and I do not appreciate their arrogance when trying to talk to them about the work they were supposed to have done.

They came pretty quickly after we called them and they were able to repair the problem without any trouble. I did however felt like they were more expensive than I thought they should be.

No work was performed. We left two messages with the receptionist but no calls back. After a third call, there was an apology and they went out to the house, but then they couldn't find the septic tank. We'll be calling another service provider.

The Dunne Company designed our system and did a great job, but we had Snowden do the actual work out here. This was a most reputable company here and now. They provide us with quarterly inspections. They were very mindful of the environment and met all of our systems needs. I couldn t give you an estimate because we had an exceptionally big system so it wouldn t be fair to mention the cost.

I have been using Snowden s services for a little while now and have not yet had any problems. They show up as planned and do not try to over charge you for nonsense things. I am not quite sure of the exact pricing at this time, but, it is not very much. I would say that they are average and fair. They are a very nice respectable company who I can trust to do their jobs well.
