Description of Work: Diagnostic service. I suspected that the condensation pan was overflowing due to a clogged drain, and the technician confirmed it. He wanted $250 to empty the pan and clean the drain. I thought that was excessive and passed. He did everything he was supposed to do and was very professional and courteous. However, the excessive cost for the minor service of clearing the drain felt like a bait and switch tactic, so I would be reluctant to call this company again. I have since called other Angie's List HVAC members to get estimates on this work and, in most cases, it was close to half what Precision quoted me.

Description of Work: Overall, the install of my new A/C went as quickly as possible. The install team was professional and engaging. However, I wound up paying about $600 more than I would have for the exact same system with another provider. I was also surprised and disappointed to learn that the $75 service call to diagnose problems doesn't actually cover a full diagnosis. When they suspected a leak, they wanted to charge another $75 to confirm the location of that leak and then add whatever repair costs from there. We eventually agreed on a best course and they moved forward with the repairs. They did a good job on the install but I would definitely shop around before making that decision again.

Description of Work: I purchased a $69 deal for an A/C Inspection, Cleaning, & Tune-Up PLUS 1 Pound of Freon. The service went fine. We ended up having to hire another company to actually repair the AC. This company missed the correct diagnoses and only checked the AC. They did exactly what the deal stated. One technician came out for the job and did and fine job. I had no problem getting in touch with the company or scheduling their service. I would just not buy another deal from this company.

Description of Work: Several of these ratings need explanation: The company was responsive and the technician was punctual and professional. I rated the Overall and Quality as a "C" because there wasn't any "servicing" done to speak of, and what I needed most was not done. My AC unit had been very low on R-22 Freon for the first time since the unit was initially installed) since the beginning of June. I had called another company first to come and add Freon, but was told by that company that my coils were "rusted," (they weren't)and that he couldn't add Freon unless I purchased a new coil unit, "because of EPA regulations." (Yes, there are EPA regulations, but this was a big stretch from what the regulations actually are concerned with.)So I called the highly rated Precision company and got the same company line. The only difference is that the 2nd guy sprayed something on my coils which naturally had condensation on them, and he pointed to a place near the where the coil joins the unit and asked if I could see where it was bubbling, indicating a leak in the coil(I couldn't see it). For that reason he too said I had to replace the coil unit before EPA regs would allow him to add Freon to my outside unit. I told him that I know someone who has been in the HVAC industry for years, who told me that there was no EPA reason for Freon not to be replaced when this was the first time I had ever been low on Freon. He charged me $129 to determine if there was a leak in the coil, which was in addition to the $69 I paid for the Angie's List Big Deal to have him come out and inspect, tune-up, etc. |One of my neighbors told me about an independently certified AC repairman who located the Freon leak in the king valve that needed to be tightened on the outside unit,and he added 3 lbs of Freon. He examined my inside coil unit, and it was fine (no leak there). He also noticed that the heat sequencer was "stuck," thus drawing unnecessary amps and fixed that, too. Thanks to this independent repairman, I had cooling again for a total payment of $165 for labor and the Freon. Perhaps there are some commercial HVAC companies whose mission is not to unnecessarily upsell new units to the average uninformed customer who will do anything to have cooling again, but I'll bet that most of the other commercial companies out there would sing the same song. Except for when someone needs Freon, I have no doubt that Precision Heating does a fabulous job of installing and maintaining HVAC units when old units truly need to be replaced, but mine didn't. |

Description of Work: So Derek redeemed his company's performance. We actually had Precision out in mid April to do the check up and were told everything was great with the system. I called to have them come back out and found out the previous tech was fired. Luckily, they were willing to come out the same day and re-examine everything. Sure enough we had a leak and they diagnosed it and got it working till we could replace the unit.

Description of Work: Ac Tune up two units they were very prompt very professional one small problem the service person failed to reconnect a wire and after I discovered the fan was not working they returned promptly an reconnected the wire and all was good. |I think that speaks well of them when thing go perfect anyone can do the job when they don't how the company handles the situation in terms of response and follow through is the real measure and they handled it well you cant ask for more Thanks I will use them again.

Description of Work: I had Precision Heating and AC come out for a routine AC tune up. While doing the tune-up he pointed out a clogged drain which if left alone would eventually overflow into the house. He unclogged the drain and recommended a fix to prevent it from happening in the future. The additional cost was $133. Which is much less than the cost of the potential damage. He fixed it promptly.
