I like their professionalism and communication.  They give attention to detail and overall, they are real pleasure to work with.  They might be the most expensive and they are not the cheapest but my husband and I just thought of using him.

Dan and his crew were wonderful. This old home had so many issues because of age and the prior owner used a handyman who rigged most things illegally and therefore was unsafe.. This home is for rental purposes and we wanted it safe. Every time, the guys tried to repair something, there would be issues and nothing was easy. However, they always found solutions and had the best attitude. They made sure everything was done safely and up to code. There were a few times I found others problems during later renovation and they always came out quickly to resolve them. It was such a pleasure to work with Dan, Mike, and Sam!

Sent email with pictures and got an estimate from Dan for adding a
pendant light over a kitchen sink and installing a whole-house surge
protector.
Mike and an assistant showed up on the appointed morning and
were able to install the light without having to open up the ceiling, saving a
drywall repair job. They were neat and professional, used a drop cloth
and cleaned up the site afterward.
During the surge protector install Mike found a loose nut on a breaker
and geckos inside the box. He  cleaned it up and sealed the hole they
were using to keep out the wildlife.
The new light looks and works great. I really appreciate the attention to
detail, and kudos to Mike for finding and fixing the issues in the main
breaker box.
Excellent experience and highly recommended.

Recently bought my house in late March and wanted 3 GFCI outlets installed and had some questions about low hanging wires alongside my house. Chose Molitor Electric based on Angie's List reviews. Left Dan a voicemail and he called back within a couple of hours, told him what I was looking for and he came over to check it out.  He informed me that the low hanging wires were cable and phone so nothing dangerous to worry about and I could raise them myself.  Also had him look at the main electric panel based on information from my home inspection and most everything was fine but had a few small recommendations.  He gave me a quote of $350 for 3 GFCIs and maintenance on the electric panel.  I told him that was fine and he said he could do it in the coming weeks.  I wasn't on a time table and told him that's fine and about 2 weeks later he called asking if I was available to do the work.  He came over and did a great job, only needing him to do 2 GFCI outlets and the electric box maintenance so he cut the price to $300.  Haven't had any issues with any of his work and would use him again in the future.

Job 1: Dan showed up a little late, but he called to give me a heads up and you can't know all that will occur when you are a very busy one-man band (Mike working for Dan yet) and wanting to give the quality work and effort Dan gives.
Dan went thru the shop and house after first electrician had given bid and Dan showed me exactly why certain work did not need to be done by way of brakers, testers, turning on/off switches(previous guy never bothered and said he would charge me for installing z240v line that I told him already existed, but he said the outlet and braker box weren't really set up as I thought). Dan even showed me which outlets went to which switches in shop for my own future reference, helped me think thru where equipment would go before putting up new light boxes, and told me more of efficient bulbs and option to replace existings on own if I wanted rather than pay him a lot of money...told me where to get them and think about what type of light I wanted to work under before buying bulbs. I was looooving this guy. Thinking, practical, saving me money, and educating me. We went into house and showed me what needed to be done and was doing it right (other electrician was going to do hack job for more money). Dan also said would save him time and self if I did certain Inge before he installed new garbage disposal (house had never had one). All went smoothly when Dan returned and on time :-). He was half the cost and better at job by far!

Job 2- House had no back patio light and was driving me nuts. Sounds simple..well, Dan was out of town, but returned call to say has a guy working with him now (Mike) and said Mike is as detailed oriented as Dan (and he is!). And if I didn't want to wait, Mike could do the job...tho he said by our conversation it would be time consuming and not cheap due to construction of house. I am pretty good at construction, but also cheap and so when Mike came out, Mike entertained all my thoughts of alternatives to save money, but none panned out...Dan and Mike knew all along, the only way was to fish wire thru soffit, around corners and all. An extra junction box and ability at light switch was put in should I decide to put in another light at corner of house (All Mike's suggestion, b/c cost hardly anything to do while doing the rest....and would be easy for me to add corner light my self. Dan and Mike are very meticulous, always thinking what may help you or save you money, dependable, smart, very reasonable, and just darn nice guys to boot! Dan and Mike are on my 'Golden List' and am grateful to have them and one other trades person...if only could duplicate them to be Sheetrockers, painters, or roofers!

They were great pricewise and everything.  Actually he ran into complications where an extra price went counted against us.  They did some recess lighting in our kitchen.  He bought LED's but the LED prices had gone up but he kept the quote price the same, which was quite impressive.  He was the cheapest of everybody.  He showed up within five minutes.  He brought a second person even though we only paid him for one person to show up.  Like I said he ate the cost of his although it went over his estimate.

We contacted Dan Molitor to correct deficiencies noted on the home inspection prior to moving into the house.  Dan provided an estimate to fix the deficiencies and, at our suggestion, to note what other work might need to be done.  Due to the holidays, Dan and his crew were not able to start until late January and they worked hard!  The project lead, Mike, had lots of experience with older homes and, besides doing work within the scope of the project, found other areas that could require attention.  An example was, on replacing a ceiling box to support a fan, found that the insulation had been "cooked" by large wattage bulbs over the years.  Examing all of the ceiling fixtures found that all but two had crumbling insulation--fires waiting to happen!  Dan was very accommodating to suggestions or add-ons and the crew was always looking to find the best way to complete the work while doing minimal damage to sheetrock or molding.  These guys were a pleasure to work with.  I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat!

I called Dan Molitor early Friday morning after finding his company on Angie's List to install a wall outlet in my garage.  He called back within 30 minutes and said he had an electrician in my area and could come by to look at the installation.  We agreed on at time of 1:00 PM.  Mike, the electrician, and his assistant arrived on time.  Mike assessed the installation and said he could do it.  He and his assistant were friendly and professional.  They performed the installation with my request in mind, using the required safety and electrical requirements.  Mike used his experience to install the required wire in the wall without causing any wall damage and efficiently used the time by listening to my requests, giving his assistant clear instructions and not wasting any time while on my job.
I was very pleased with the installation and think the cost was very reasonable.  I asked Mike to give me a quote for additional electrical work that I would like to have done.
I recommend using Mike for home electrical work.

MOLITOR HAS NOT PROVIDED DETAILED INFORMATION ON WHAT WAS EXACTLY DONE IN THE EXTENSIVE REWIRING IN MASTERBATH AND GARAGE. GFI OUTLETS WERE NOT PROVIDED FOR THE 2 NEW INSTALLED OUTLETS IN MASTERBATH. WHEN I HAD THE GFI INSTALLED THIS WEEK WITH ANOTHER CONTRACTOR, I FOUND THAT MOLITOR HAD MISREPRESENTED WHAT HE DID - HE HAD NOT REWIRED THE ALUMINUM-COPPER CONNECTIONS, BUT HAD RUN THE ORIGINAL ALUMINUM WIRE STRAIGHT TO BATHROOM OUTLET, FURTHER, THE WIRE CONNECTORS WERE NOT THE PURPLE APPROVED CONNECTORS FOR ALUM-COPPER BUT THE REGULOAR ORANGE COPPER-COPPER SCREW ON CONNECTORS. WE HAD TO REMOVE THE GFI OUTLET WE INSTALLED BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT ALUM-COPPER APPROVED AND WE LACKED THE PURPLE CONNECTORS.

THE GARAGE CEILING OUTLET WHICH MOLITOR REPLACED (BUT UNCLEAR IF REWIRED FROM ALUMINUM TO COPPER) DOES NOT HAVE A WALL SWITCH OR OUTLET BOX. CAPPED WIRES ARE STICKING OUT OF CEILING IN GARAGE.

ALTHOUGH MOLITOR TOLD ME AND CHARGED ME FOR ALUMINUM-COPPER PIGTAIL REPAIRS WITH INSERTION OF NEW JUNCTION BOXES, IT IS NOW UNCLEAR WHETHER THIS WAS ACTUALLY DONE. i WILL HAVE TO REMOVE AND CHECK EACH OF THE REPAIRS MOLITOR MADE TO SEE WHETHER THE CORRECT ALUM-COPPER PIGTAILING WAS DONE.

FURTHER, MY $25 ANGIE'S COUPON WAS NOT HONORED. MOLITOR PICKED UP A SIX FT & 13 FT LADDER FOR ME WHEN HE DID NOT HAVE PROPER HEIGHT LADDERS WITH HIM ON THE JOB. I DECIDED I COULD USE THESE LADDERS AND ASKED HIM TO BUY THE LADDERS RATHER THAN CHARGE ME FOR RENTING THEM. I ASKED OR RECEIPTS FROM HOME DEPOT. MOLITOR HAS CONTINUOUSLY REFUSED TO PROVIDE ME WITH THESE RECEIPTS, AND I WAS CERTAINOY OVERCHARGED BY PAYING MOLITOPR $250 FOR BOTH LADDERS.  I AM REQUESTING A REFUND FROM MOLITOR. I BELIEVE THAT THIS MISREPRESENTED WORK WITH ALUMINUM-COPPER PIGTAILING IS IN VIOLATION OF THE EXISTING ELECTRICAL CODE AND EXPOSES ME TO POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARDS.
Response from Molitor Electric Inc

"I do not agree with the customer's complaint. It would require actual on site observation to sort out the correct facts and the customer has hired another electrician that cannot occur. For this reason I will pay the $400 to satisfy the customer's complaint."

Initially, Dan came out to replace a single malfunctioning breaker and recommended that I replace my panel whenever I could (as others had recommended as well).  Dan gave me a quote that was about $200-300 less that previous quotes.  Within a few weeks, Dan returned to replace my panel with a 200 amp panel.
Dan was very responsive, communicated well with me and the Electric company and finished ahead of schedule.  He was willing to explain several things I had questions about, and was flexible when I decided to change to a higher amperage panel.

Dan provided a low bid for the electrical work to finish out my garage apartment.  After meeting him, I was glad he came in low bid against two other Angies List contractors.  I provided him a drawing, we discussed the installation and he completed it in a very reasonable time frame.  He was very accommodating, showed me how he was doing the installation superior to the design, and made recommendations to improve the design.  I was very satisfied and appreciate his help and quality performance.

Dan Molitor is the owner. He is totally professional. He is totally competent. I think he is a master electrician. He came and he handled the electrical issues. He was fair and honest. Being that he is a master electrician he has total confidence and he knows what he is doing. The pricing was very reasonable. It was less than the other electricians. The quality of service was good. He did such a good job of fixing things. It was an older house and it had issues with the wiring being aluminum. He handled the issues that we had with the aluminum wiring. I would use him in a heartbeat for electrical stuff to be done.

I found his name on Angieslist and contacted him for an estimate.  I sent him the details for the estimate with photos in an email, to which he responded with a quote of about $650.  He did the work about a week later (at my request) and in the process found an issue with the main service line coming from the utility pole, he told me it would be about $150 more to fix that, so total estimate of $800.  He knew that I needed the work done on a schedule and so when he didn't finish on the Friday he started he came out on the following Saturday and completed all the work.  When all the work was complete he gave me a bill for $795.

They are very reliable and they do good work. Most importantly, they took the time to explain things to me and consult with me. It was very easy to work with them in that way. The price was a good value.

I called and spoke with Mr. Molitor about two of my GFCI outlets not working in my upstairs bathroom. I explained in detail what I had already done to troubleshoot and try to resolve the issue. He explained that in houses built around the time mine was (early 80s), often GFCIs from different areas of the house are connected in series and suggested that I check to see if a GFCI in a downstairs bathroom (closer to the breaker box) had tripped. I went downstairs and, sure enough, the one in the downstairs kid's bathroom had been tripped (has plastic kid-proof plugs in the outlet; not sure how/why it got tripped). I reset it, and lo and behold my upstairs bathroom GFCI outlets are both working now. Thank you, Mr. Molitor!

I had extension cords running to a light bulb to operate my 22 year old garage doors which are rotting.  The garage door place said I needed new outlets.  Dan came out in the early evening to do an estimate on the job; he told me exactly what I needed and said it wasn't as bad as I thought it was (electricity petrifies me)!  My house needs a lot of repair but Dan didn't try to sell me on what I wasn't prepared to do.  When he came to put the new outlets & a GCI in, he found something else that was wrong with a light fixture in the garage and fixed it for me too.  He was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain what he did; what the GCI was and how to oit works.  His quote was exactly what he charged me.  He was very flexible with his time which I appreciated.  Mostly I instinctively trusted him.  I will definitely keep him on my list!
