I got their name from somebody who works for our HOA. I hired them to do the work then two things happened. He subcontracted a chunk of the work to another local contractor because of the nature of our yard. When we moved into our house our lot was 100-percent covered in riverstone. Part of the reason we hired them was to get rid of that. The subcontractor removed all of the stone in our yard and placed some of it. They also helped to change the grade of the lawn. I had a lot of trouble with the sub because they were not working very consistently. They had their guys on site but there was a lot of time not working and a lot of trouble with the skid tier they had. There was just a lot of lost labor time they were having to go get parts or do repairs. A lot of the work they did I have had to redo since because the materials the materials they provided, either they did not check them adequately or maybe they misrepresented to the contractor, I am not sure which, but the stone that was put down had a lot of soil mixed in with it. The objective was to just have a clean layer of stone on top of a landscaping fabric. It did not end up happening that way. Then they drove over some of the new work they did with a skid tier and destroyed the barrier fabric underneath and then I got weed growth coming up through that. They were doing the job and I just told them to stop. Lakeway Landscaping hired the subcontractor to do the stonework and grading. They never actually did any planting for me because I got so frustrated part of the through that I just said forget it. I continued to ask the owner for specifics about his estimate because he was very happy to send me how much he was spending and trying to establish a final spending figure. Trying to get him to identify specific prices, numbers and plans to help me determine whether it was a fair price for the job or not never happened. He would say he was thinking about this or we talked about that but he gave me no solid design on paper or no clear specifications about what the final design was going to look like. After a while after complaining about the subcontractor and not getting a clear representation of the work he was going to do I just stopped him. I really liked the general design we talked about and he was a very pleasant guy to deal with. He was prompt and easy to reach, but the end product of trying to get the work executed was horrible. If I was to work with them again I would insist on a written contract that would have the specifications for work to be done and make sure there was a documented understanding of what was requested.
