Lakeway Appliance Repair

Went terrible.  Two consecutive no show for appointment time slots.  Both times, when I called hours after the time slot inquiring about not showing up, I was told the tech that was assigned was out sick, and they could come tomorrow.  Never showed up, and never seemed like they knew of the appointment to begin with. Always had to give all information for reschedule.

I called the number listed on Angie's List.  An answering service dispatched the company, so we thought, called Lakewayt Appliance Repair.  The service man, Lorenzo Banks, looked at the machine and said he was certain that it was a dryer vent clog.  He charged my wife $89 for a service call in which she wrote a check.  He told her to make the check out to him personally. When she told me what he had said I immediately told her he was wrong and to have him come back in but he had gone.  When I try to reach him the answering service has no record of my call.  Nor, will they will not put me in touch with the company.  When we call the person who came to our house he quickly hangs up.  After several calls to the answering service it is quite clear that they are working with crooks and dispatching them to our homes.  This number was obtained from Angie's List.  We had never used Angie's List before and knowing now they let non legitimate service post on their site I wonder what the benefit is.  Be warned, just because it is on Angie's List doesn't mean you can't get taken.
