After contacting Yamil, he came to the house. We did a walk thru discussing all the work that I needed done, which was a lot.  Yamil was very thorough when discussing what I wanted done. Discussed everything from caulking trim, baseboards, nail holes, items to be removed off the walls before painting all the way to where I wanted them to clean paint brushes, pans, etc. I probably drove him crazy with questions but he never showed it. That night I received an email with his proposal/estimate attached.  After agreeing to proposal and starting date, they arrived on time each morning and were on time daily until the project was completed.  During the project I found some additonal work that needed to be done. He updated his proposal that night and brought it to me to sign the next morning.  He had another job after mine and asked if he could work on Sat and Sunday so he could get the additional work completed. I agreed since the additional work I had requested would extend his workload/timeline and I also wanted it done quickly as possible. They never missed a day until the job was completed except for one day when he had a minor problemwith his truck.  He (they) worked very quickly and were receptive to feedback, questions and minor adjustments along the way.  

The floor in master bedroom and middle bedroom  is 2” lower than floor in hall. Yamil was able to transition the 6” baseboards by making slanted cuts on each side where floor changed levels. He was also able to locate bead board that matched the bead board we bought 7-8 years ago. He hung the new bead board where the stripes matched the existing bead board stripes in the living room! He even managed to match the stain on the knotty pine beams to the stain we had put on 7-8 years earlier. He was also able to cut down my shades to fit the new window casings on 4 large windows. He is truly amazing!!! Job started 02/25/16 and was completed 03/17/16.

Yamil is pleasant, energetic, humorous and easy to work with. He is a skilled craftsman.  Martin who seemed to be his right hand man was also very nice and the best painter I have ever seen. Yamil had other crew members on site as needed. Everyone who came to my house, worked hard. They were all very respectful and pleasant. They cleaned up completely at the end of each day. Yamil came on a Saturday, the day after I called him, to give us an estimate and we signed a contract. He returned alone the following Monday and began the demo work. His assistant, Martin, appeared the next day and began work on the siding. The work was flawlessly done and completed within four days. The initial estimate increased by over $1,000 as new problems emerged, but I believe this is normal for a house built in 1942, and we feel grateful that at least in these areas we don't have to worry about further surprises. Yamil is a very pleasant and energetic man as well as a skillful craftsman, and Martin turned in exacting and beautiful work on the siding. They did a great job on everything we asked for, and an unusually good job of cleaning up the site. We're very happy and hope to have them again soon to do some interior work.

He was on time, explained all he was going to do, excellent quality. Prepped by covering screens, windows, before painting and cleaned up. No surprises or extra charges. No paint  mess on brick.

Yamil is very professional and easy to work with.  He evaluated the work we asked for and pointed out some things that were in poor shape as a result of the previous work done by someone else.  The paperwork was very thorough, including photos of exactly what area was involved and exactly what work he proposed.  We agree upon a price, which we felt was appropriate for the work, and set a date.  He came with his crew that day, got the work done, cleaned up after himself. Very refreshing experience, based on our interaction with other service providers in our neck of the woods.

.Yamil and helpers did an excellent job on every aspect of their work. North exterior replaced with double-layer wall; trim all around done replaced beautifully; chimney rebuilt with extra support; can't say enough for quality workmanship!

Did an awesome job. Had it all done in 3-4 days. Braced the roof up and put of plastic ceiling to floor. This was the wall separating the living room and the outside. He was very professional and did an awesome job. Highly recommend.

Yamil Exposito did two jobs for me. The first was to repair wood siding to prepare the house to be painted. I was referred to him by Southern Painting. He did an excellent job. The siding really looks like new. A month later I hired him to rebuild my deck. It looks terrific and feels much more solid than my old deck. I would definitely hire him again.

Yamil and crew installed over 300 linear feet of crown molding in the Hallways, Kitchen, and Bedrooms to match the rest of the house. They caulked, covered the nails holes and painted, as well as hauled off the trash and debris. Almost every contractor quoted me the same $7 per foot figure, but Home Improvement and Repair had some of the best reviews. Everything looks great. They were professional and fast. They took great care to clean and retouch any fingerprints they may have left. I would hire them again.

We found Yamil to be very responsive to our inquiry, personable, helpful with design aspects, as well as highly skilled in his profession. They handled all the small details to deliver a great final project. I will hire Home Improvement and Repair again.

They used existing materials, which saved on costs. Final work looked great and was well done. Responded quickly with an estimate, and were very flexible about meeting our needs around work schedule.

As you know home repairs can be a night mare and in Austin Tx finding someone that can get to a project is tough because of the high demand these days. Thankfully I found Home Improvement and Repair through Angie's list and they were able to work us in with in a few weeks. After we did the walk through and agreed on work and price the work commenced on July 28th and was finished the morning of Aug 1st. I could not believe there was not a large mess,nothing needed correcting and they were very respectful in trying to keep the house clean. The wall they textured looked exactly like the other walls you could not tell that any work had been done it blended perfectly with all the others.
Yamil and his crew uninstalled a French Door that had been installed incorrectly, it was leaking previously. The finish work in all his projects was very good. I am glad to know that in future projects that I have someone I can trust. No stress,no arguing and no mess we could not have been happier.

Great! In and out in one day, everything was done as requested.  They cleaned up and vacuumed before they left and they put up with my dogs barking at them through the windows all day.  We will likely use them again for another project.

Yamil came out quickly to the house and gave us a complete estimate in writing. Yamil and his crew's quality and performance were above and beyond our expectations! His advice and expertise was very helpful. They arrived daily on time and they cleaned up completely at the end of each day. He even saved us money wherever he could! Yamil encountered some issues we weren't expecting, plumbing, sheetrock repair and texturing and replacing a few floor tiles but Yamil took his time and made sure that the job was done right. He even called in a helper on Saturday to help out. The new vanity and bathroom looks fantastic.The vanity had a sink in a different location than the one that was taken out so Yamil had a challenge on his hands when it came to the plumbing work. If the plumbing job isn't an exact replacement job I would recommend hiring a Licensed plumber.

Kudos to Yamil!  He responded to my call for help the same day.  He was very professional and did an excellent job.  I would definitely recommend him to others.  Very impressed with him.

Yamil was able to come to my house and give an estimate the same day I called him.  He fit me into his schedule quickly and performed the work in a timely and professional manner.  He took pictures of the progress for documentation and shared it with me upon completion.  He went above and beyond the scope of work by fixing our baseboard moulding and securing the subfloor in additional areas of the bathroom.  Overall an excellent experience and I will definitely be calling him again n the future.
