Dispute being handled by American Express. No response from Frys. Austin Frys refused certified letter. San Jose office of vice-president signed for certified letter but no response. At time I had work done there was a huge sign in the service dept. saying that they were certified to work on Apple computers. It has since been removed. 
I had the iMac repaired at Barton Creek Apple although I also purchased a  service policy from Frys. I did not return it to Frys because I did not want them working on my computer again.
The day I picked up the computer I returned it because the optical drive was not working. I was charged $56 to be told to buy an external drive. The technician  was  disinterested, bordering on rude.

AMERICAN  EXPRESS GOT A FULL REFUND FOR ME but I won't go back.

My experience with Fry's Electronics was okay. It took a long time. It took them a week. I was disappointed they couldn't fix my hard drive. But they were able to address the problem. They had the expertise to do everything.

Fry's was very helpful, advising me on what would be best for my needs. They were friendly and polite, but not pushy and I feel I got the best price for my money.
