After some discussion, I decided to move forward with a more costly option, and was provided with a revised estimate. The work was scheduled to begin the following Monday at 9 am. On Monday, I received a call from the repairman at 9:30 am, indicating there had been a miscommunication and he had been sent to the wrong job site but would be there within a half hour. He showed up soon thereafter and began work. He was not able to complete the repairs that day, as it became a "two man" job. We scheduled time later that week for him to return. Work was completed as agreed upon.
Neither the microwave nor the vent had a baffle. Josh installed the wall baffle and the leak has subsided. We'd ordered the
interior baffle for the microwave itself, but he did not feel it was necessary to install it.
The second visit was to replace light fixtures and begin exterior caulking.
The third visit was to hang 2 fans and complete exterior caulking. The caulking remains unfinished because he was
sick that day and needed to go home.
We had to request itemized statements, and were surprised to find that there is a $40 charge to come to Sun City.
Being new to SC, we did not realize we should've asked about extra travel fees.
Josh is very personable and willing to satisfy his clients' needs..
Positives: The fellow who arrived was very polite and professional. He fixed the faucet in a timely manner.
Negatives: He charged me an hourly rate which was fine, however, the hourly rate was $95. That is part my fault for not having my wife first get a quote. He also replaced the faucet with a boiler release valve (without telling me first) and justified it by explaining that it will last longer because the moving parts don't turn as much. I can appreciate that and it's not a major issue, but he should have told me beforehand.
So overall it was a decent experience, I only wish 1) it didn't cost as much as it did and 2) I was talked to beforehand about what was going back on the faucet.
"We regret that this customer is not 110% satisfied with our work. We are proud of how we handle new customers and we believe our service is unmatched. We provided a quote on the phone to the customer’s wife when she called. We were on the job that very same day. The complaints we hear about the competition: you can’t find a live person on the phone; they don’t call you back; if they arrive, they arrive late; and the costs are unreasonable. This customer received courteous, same day service and a part upgrade within hours of his wife’s calling us."
Rocky, the plumber, came to replace the shower spout, it took him all of 5 minutes.
Since they have left, everything is working in perfect fashion. Thank you Expert Service.
Past that, they were prompt and professional, very nice, and did a good job. They did not make a mess in the process, and when I did find a few trash bags upon return home, I emailed them asking about it and received an apology and quick removal of the material - it had been forgotten, but was quickly taken care of.
I not only have no hesitation about recommending them, but am planning to use their services again myself in the near future.
"We are always sorry when a customer is less than thrilled. Usually they are grateful. Customer called with an electrical problem at 8:45 AM on a day when the temperature was climbing to 104. We had a technician on the job within an hour. When the technician realized he needed a helper, he called for the backup, who arrived shortly thereafter. They completed the work. I sent a subcontractor when I realized, in conversation with the customer, the job needed a licensed electrician instead of a handytech. I instructed the sub to collect directly in order to save the customer money. We should have informed her of that, however I’m disappointed that, following such quick service in such heat, she would complain about such a thing. When she called again for an additional electrical problem, it was solved at a very reasonable price within 2 hours, all the while being informed about the details of the work by our staff. Again, first class service, which is what we’re known for. After we gave the customer a courtesy discount of $50 in an effort to placate her dissatisfaction, she took 8 months to pay the bill. This type of behavior wipes out any legitimacy to her complaints."
"Despite our concerted efforts, we were not able to please this customer. I sent my best crew, which regularly garners high praise. This customer called them ”bozos” and” liars.” At that point I knew there was little to be done except agree to disagree. When I personally inspected the work, there was absolutely no defect—a fact with which the customer agreed. It hurts when a customer says things that are rude and untrue, but I feel good that we did solid work, under difficult circumstances. We made a concession for over $100 to try to please the customer, who acknowledged the credit by the following words in an email: “paid in full by check #X for this work that was completed satisfactorily."
