The guy that owns it used to be an engineer so he's an intelligent guy. They do a good job every time.

It is extremely difficult to get anyone to answer the phone or call you back in a timely manner. Its usually up to 2 days later to receive a call. I addressed it the first time when I received a call back and the lady called me said that she was extremely pregnant and having to take off time for dr's appointments, but she would be going on leave soon and someone else would be taking over. I can understand how difficult late term pregnancy can by, but the business needs to make sure the phones are covered. We had the appointment and Shaun was very gracious and nice. (he was late by the way, but was extremely nice and had a good explanation on why he was late). What I thought was going to be a small project really was just a quote on re configuring the current system which the quote was $1040 and a 90 dollar charge to dig in my flower bed to assure me there weren't any buried heads. The second property needs a backflow and what I thought was going to be a $500 or job that was going to be performed that day, I was immediately told that it wasn't a quick fix so he looked at current system and put together a quote for over $1600 to put in backflow and heads in the front. I was really looking forward to the quotes as I want to get the work done, but I was really disappointed to receive bills on both properties as between the 2 properties I was going to have over $2600 worth of work done. I knew about the policy on the website about free quotes over $500 and I was upset that I received an invoice especially on the 2nd property where zero work was performed. I paid the 1st property service charge as he did dig up a small part of my flower bed to check for a head (the rest of the work he did was so he could figure out what to change to cover the entire yard with an updated system-i.e. create a quote), but do not feel like I should pay the second charge as it specifically says on their website that bids over $500 are free. I called the office to try to resolve the issue, and of course no one answered the phone and of course it was not a timely call back. And of course I missed her call, which she basically left me a voicemail saying how I could pay and reciting what was invoiced to me and timing on next availability for service. I had questions on the invoice, as well as questions on the quote !!!!Here is a company that was personally recommended to me so I felt confident that they would do great work, but when we are still in the sales process and I can't get anyone on the phone before I have paid any money, why would I give this company my business? I have lost all confidence that my business is valued and that when I need help this company would be easy to get a hold of and that I would be a valued customer. I'm very disappointed.

On both days, the workers arrived on time. The tree was planted a day early. All workers were efficient and thorough, even working in pouring rain. I had to insist that they take a break when it hailed. All work was completed. The final results were even better than I imagined.

I cannot recommend Cougar Irrigation highly enough. I will use them again in a heartbeat.

Matt was very punctual and responsive (both before and after the project was completed). It's been 2.5 years and the system is still going strong. I've been extremely pleased with the result and I plan on using them again whenever I figure out a landscaping plan for my backyard.

After another company failed to find the leak and with water puddling in the yard, we called Cougar Irrigation. Even though Matt was on vacation, he returned our call and set up a service date. He was thorough and found the small hard-to-find leak that the other company had neglected to locate. Matt made the repair and we've had no further problems. Highly recommended.

When I first called for rates, the tech said the first hour would cost $75 and every hour after that would be $80, and that the tech would call to get my approval if the job exceeded two hours. Since getting an invoice for $280, I've learned now to ask for all the costs upfront. That is, I did not ask for costs of the nozzles, cans, adapters, etc. The job lasted 2.5 hours. The tech Shaun did not call for the additional 1/2 hour. After getting the invoice, I called to get a breakdown of my invoice. The rep said each nozzle costs $2.50. I had 14 repaired so the nozzle costs should have been $35. I had 8 cans replaced at a cost of $5 each, and two shrub adapters at a cost of $1-2. He did not know exactly and would check back at the office. I mentioned that one of the shrub adapters was leaking. He was not concerned. I also mentioned that one of the nozzles was not popping up. He said I likely needed a new can and the tech must have missed it. He said the labor rate was $80 an hour and up, depending on where I live. He did not say that when I called two weeks earlier to schedule the appointment, which by the time, I had to call to confirm because I did not get a strong impression that someone would show up. I had seen their trucks in my neighborhoods and read good reviews online, so that is why I called. However I strongly do not recommend this company.

Matt was very responsive and prompt, first explaining how to turn off the water to the sprinkler system to avoid leaking more water until the repair could be completed. We have used him several times and have always been happy with his work.

Unlike other vendors, they were very prompt to provide an estimate. The work was well done. When a leak developed a month later, they came out immediately to fix it.

We discovered standing water in the yard - and a possible leak in our sprinkler system on Saturday and called, based on other reports here. Matt from Cougar answered his phone and scheduled a time to come on Monday morning. He called back in about 30 minutes to say he would be driving by our area in a few minutes and volunteered to come by then. He came on a Saturday afternoon to check our system, fixed some sprinkler heads and spent the time to talk about our system, explain best practices for winter watering and shady area watering, and repaired the rain sensor too. All of this for no additional charge beyond his service call, and no extra charge for working on Saturday. Matt was very professional, is very knowledgeable and clearly loves his craft and is proud of his work. We recommended him to our neighbors already, and would highly recommend him to anyone.

We discovered the leaking control box on Saturday morning and called Matt at Cougar around 11:30 that morning, expecting to set up an appointment at some time during the following week. (We have used him once before and liked him). He called back at 4:15 Saturday afternoon and said he could be over in about an hour, so we hustled home to wait for him. That hour turned out to be more like 3 hours. We had to call him a couple times to see when/if he was still coming over (it was going to get dark soon). When Matt did finally arrive, he quickly identified the problem and fixed it by tightening a loosened valve. I gave him a B for price because the fix turned out to be ridiculously easy and I thought $75 was a bit high to charge for something that took him about 5 minutes to fix. I would have appreciated if he had given us a price break in consideration of how far off his estimate his actual arrive had been. He'd done work for us in November that took over an hour in the cold, and only charged $80. However, he gets an A for responsiveness, quality and professionalism because he is a genuinely hard-working and polite young man who is out there 14-16 hours a day serving his customers. We were very pleased that he could come the same day we called even though it was a weekend during the busiest part of sprinkler repair season (I suppose that might account for the high price...) Overall we were pleased and will call Matt again - but first we'll try a little harder to see if we can fix the problem ourselves.

I have a 15 yr old sprinkler system and about a month ago a sprinkler head popped off and I had to shut off a portion of the sprinkler system. After not getting around to resolving it on my own and letting a section of my lawn die, I decided to get a professional. I contacted Matt Stamm of Cougar Irrigation on a Friday. He returned my call and met with me on Sunday and completed the repair on Monday as well as adjusted the sprinkler heads in my system. So, quick, clean and complete service. Also, Matt customized a irrigation chart and set up my timer system based on my personal needs. In my case, Matt really shared with me how to save money with the city year round plus he made future recommendations to save money. Overall I was very pleased with the experience and the price of the service. A problem that I put off for over a month was solved in literally a day with Cougar Irrigation, plus I really do not have to mess with my sprinkler system for a whole year knowing I will saving on my water bill.
