Richard was early for our appointment. He called to make sure I was here. He tuned up the door and fixed the problem so the door now operates as new. He was very professional. Will use again and highly recommend.

Richard is a very nice guy and got right to work installing a garage door opener for us. He worked quickly and efficently. We are very happy with his work and will definately use him again if work is needed on either the garage doors or opener.

Selected Cornell Garage Doors based on the reviews on Angie's list and I was not disappointed. He called me back promptly and was very friendly. He came over within a few days to check out the spring. Turns out the size of spring was a bit odd as the door is the original from 1958. I really love the style of the door and Richard was totally willing to work with the door and find a solution. He went on the hunt and quickly located two springs that would work (he came to see it on Friday and had the springs the following Monday). He replaced both springs and had to retro fit them to the door. It now is smoother than it was before and looks nice too. I also had a huge gap at the bottom of the door and Richard installed a flap that looks great.

Awesomely! I have used Richard and Cornell Garage Doors twice for repairs and could not be happier w/ him! If this says anything about his honesty and integrity, the first time he came to the house, the problem was user error (mine); he fixed the problem, and he charged me nothing. Then he came back for another problem recently...this time, it was NOT user error, but apparently it was an easy fix, for which he didn't charge me AGAIN b/c it was so simple. I begged to pay him b/c I feel like I've gotten phenomenal service and have received a windfall, but he wouldn't allow me to pay. Seriously, I would be happy to pay a premium for this guy and would highly, highly recommend him.

One door had been bent so that it would not open and close properly. Cornell was able to fix it without replacing the door. Two new garage door openers were installed and work just fine. I really appreciated that the owner and his repairman were courteous, answered my questions patiently and were understood that I had budget constraints. The repairmen had given a free estimate, but it was a few weeks before I could give them the go ahead. I would call them again if needed.

I contacted Cornell Garage Doors randomly off of google, and received a phone call by the end of the day. We spoke, and Richard said he could be out on Thursday at 9 AM, approximately 2 days from my phone call. He was prompt at 9 AM, and did a great job of diagnosing the situation, had all of the necessary tools and explained what he was doing, and how he was doing it. He reset a cable that had slid off of a track, re-tensioned the garage door springs and even helped to align/straighten my garage track. After he was done, my garage door has never opened as easy. I may even change the way my track is currently installed and go with a more vertical garage door opener. I suspect it took him about 45 minutes to an hour to complete the work and make sure everything was working properly. He charged me the "standard" house-call visit. Extremely happy with the overall work, a very reasonable price, and very congenial. He explained Angies List to me, and that's why I have joined. I would highly recommend him, and hope to find others in Austin this good.

Richard and Brent arrived a little behind schedule, but politely called ahead to let me know they were running a bit late. Once the guys got to the house, they worked efficiently and completed the job quickly. Richard took the time to explain all of the materials used, gave me a quick tutorial on operating the vacation lock and other key features, and recommended products to use for regular lubrication of moving parts. The guys were very pleasant and the installation went off without a hitch. It probably would have taken me 15 minutes to figure out how to synch both new doors with my car's Homelink system - Richard offered to save me about 13 of those planned 15 minutes and did it for me as a courtesy (didn't even take him the full two minutes he quoted)! Cornell Garage Doors offers quality products and workmanship at a fair price - I'm not likely to call anyone else for my garage door repairs in the future.

Our automatic garage door spring broke. We turned to Angie's list and chose Cornell due to their very reasonable rates and warranty. Our repairman showed up on time, was polite, professional and got right to work. Our door had two springs on it. He informed us that it was too light for that much tension and we would do well with just one spring. So he saved us some money right there. He also did a complete inspection of the frame, track and chain drive and gave it a good lube and "tune up." The cherry on top was that he had been looking for a door that would work with a remote control he had and we had been looking for a remote control that would work with the door we had (ours died 10 years ago). Guess what! We found each other! I now have the luxury of a remote control for the garage door at no extra cost! Like Cinderella's slipper! It was awesome and serendipitous!

It was an excellent experience. Richard was very professional and friendly and knew exactly how to perform all the work needed. He also went above and beyond on a couple of things at no charge. This is the company to deal with for things like this. Honest, competent, and professional. I will definitely use them again for anything I need related to garage doors. A real pleasure.

Clicker was non-operative and getting under the door after hitting the button in the garage was a close call one too many times. I tried to sync a new clicker myself but my opener is old and it was beyond my capabilities. I found this business through Angie's list and was not disappointed. He was quick, friendly, gave helpful advice, and charged very reasonably.

Cornell had fixed our garage door last year when we backed into it and we didn't hesitate to call them again when the door broke last week. After closing the door we heard a loud snap and the door wouldn't go up again. We called Cornell and they came out that same day and fixed it in no time. They are always fast, punctual and fair.

We called them on Christmas Eve and scheduled for the following Tuesday. They asked several questions about the type and size of the door in order to give an accurate quote and make sure they brought the right springs. On Tuesday morning, they called to keep me up to date on their arrival time. When they arrived they found they did not have the right kind of springs. This was my fault for not knowing the right information about the door when they were asking earlier. We rescheduled for the next day and they arrived promptly, again calling to let me know they were coming. The repairs were completed quickly and the door again works fine. The price was exactly as quoted.

My 1960 7' x 16' wood overhead door was very heavy and the opener had broken. I called one afternoon and Richard came at noon the next day -- in fact, he called to see if he could come early. He adjusted the spring, removed the broken cable, did some cleaning and maintenance, and within half an hour I could lift the door with one hand. He also gave me some maintenance tips and estimates for garage door openers (I'll get the Liftmaster, +/- $325 installed, but this is so easy now, it can wait). My only regret is that I hadn't called him sooner. I was incredibly happy with the price, the work done and would recommend Richard to anyone needing garage door repairs or installations.

My garage door opener stopped working on Monday morning. I looked up garage doors on Angie's List and saw all the great reviews so I called Richard and from the get go it was a great experience. Before he even offered to come out he had me check a couple of common problems. Unfortunately, it was not a common problem, however, Richard made it out to my house the same day to check things out further. He attempted to swap out the motor which did not fix the problem. Finally, he tried switching out the logic board with a scrap one he had in his truck. This didn't fix the problem either, which meant that the opener was dead. Richard gave me a few options for replacements. I could buy my own and he would install it for a hundred bucks, or he could get me a professional liftmaster for a bit more. I opted for the belt driven professional liftmaster so it would be more quiet. Richard came back out on Friday since I was having other work done and would be home. He showed up on time, and had everything installed and tweaked in a couple hours. When he was done he walked me through the whole system and gave me some maintenance tips to keep the new unit happy. I was incredibly happy with the work done and would recommend Richard to anyone needing garage door repairs or installations.

I called on a Wednesday afternoon to get someone to fix my door opener problem. We set an appointment for 1:30 the next day. Brent called me about 12:30 and asked if he could come early as he was already in the area. I was fine with that so he arrived shortly, determined what the problem was and told me what it would cost to fix. He had the necessary parts with him as I had provided make/model information when I scheduled the visit. In addition, he adjusted the door tension, adjusted the tracks and lubricated the rollers and chain guides. He also did this for the other door in my garage without charging any extra.

I'm sorry I can't remember the young man's name who came to fix the problem, but he was terrific! He checked out the garage doors and went straight to work changing the wiring, tightening the bolts, and lubricating the tracks. He even helped me by changing a burnt-out bulb, and showing me how to adjust the level at which the door closes. I was impressed with his expertise and work ethic, and would use this service provider again in a heartbeat!

He came within two days of our call - at our convenience - and arrived on time with everything necessary to do all the work. He finished quickly (90 minutes) and the cost came in under his own estimate, which was about 1/4 of what we had expected to have to pay. He was a great guy and we would definitely call him again and highly recommend him to anyone.

Richard and his partner arrived at the end of a very long and hot 100 degree day (the same day I called them) and spent 2.5 hours repairing my door. They were very experienced, professional, and gladly did the repair instead of immediately trying to sell me a new door as two other companies had attempted in the past. I won't use anyone else in the future and when I need to buy a new door (1-2 years) I will buy from them for sure. The best surprise of the whole experience came when he handed me an extremely reasonable bill for the repair.

Outstanding service. They recommended an opener for us, saving us a ton of money on a good product. They were prompt, thorough, super friendly and affordable. The work was first-rate. The opener was subsequently damaged by a power surge, and they came back out to our home, spent an hour on the phone with the garage door manufacturer, and got us a new motherboard for free under warranty. They then wouldn't charge me for the service. I was floored. I would use them again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend them to anyone. Super, super happy.

Although Richard found the keypad operational, he serviced the garage door by oiling, greasing and tightening bolts and the springs. He gave me instructions on how to keep the door in good condition, as well as patiently working with me to make sure the keypad still worked after he left. I was very impressed with the quick turn around (next day service) and professionalism. A bonus - he even tried to make friends with my obnoxious daschund.
