I am in the middle of a pool project with Cody pools right now and would not recommend them.   They were the highest bid by far but you justify it by "you get what you pay for".

I know there will always be issues and we went into it fully expecting that we would have our share.   I won?t go into all of the ups and downs but I certainly was not prepared for a 3 ½ week delay because they built the spa too small so had to demo that part and start over.  My family was looking forward to at least being able to use the pool for the tail end of the season but no chance of that now.   The bigger issue is that we are tired of living in a construction zone; our neighbors are tired of our yard being totally destroyed; our dog not being able to go in the backyard; etc; etc.

Cody talks a big game about their higher quality standards, more professional service, etc, I don?t see any evidence of that.  At the end of the day, they still have sub-contractors that do shoddy plumbing work, gunite crews that get backed up and don?t show, crews that sit on your porch smoking cigarettes, etc, etc.   If they don?t manage those crews and set higher expectations then it really doesn?t matter how good they tell you they are.    I will update my post upon completion but at this point I can say that if I had to start over today I would definitely not use Cody Pools.

Cody Pools is an outstanding company and we are very pleased with our swimming pool.  All aspects of our construction experience were great.  I would recommend them to anyone and would also use them again for any pool related project at my home.  They are very professional, organized and always put the customer first.  From our first meeting to the completion of our pool they were the utmost professionals.  Pedro (our pool designer), Jason (our construction superintendent) were just great to work with and exceeded every expectation that we had of them.   Every phone call was returned that I made to them in a timely manner and they both oversaw all aspects of our project.  Start to finish!  Each of the sub-contractors did exactly what they were supposed to do and started and finished on time.  Cody Pools is truly a first rate company.  I encourage everyone who is considered building a custom pool to give them serious consideration.  You will not be disappointed.

At the beginning, prior to contracts being signed, all was well.  The drawings of the proposed pool were well executed and visually appealing.  The salesman responded to inquiries, both email and telephone, promptly.  Once the contracts were signed, the salesman disappeared entirely and no longer returned phone calls.  The project manager, Jason, was rarely seen due to his wife having a baby during the construction process.
Prior to beginning construction, Kai, the salesman, had assured me that if construction equipment damaged my neighbor's yard (it did), then Cody Pools would re-sod the areas damaged.  However, once construction was complete, Cody disappeared.  When the project manager was questioned regarding the damage to the neighbor's yard, I was informed it was my responsibility, despite what Kai, the salesman had told me.  Over $3,000 later, the damage has been repaired.  The clean-up from the construction process was minimal, complete with the construction crew leaving shirts, hats, and saw blades behind.  I am still waiting for Cody to complete the masonry work that they damaged on my patio, despite the project manager's assurance that he would personally see to it.
Overall, the pool itself is lovely and I haven't had any problems with it mechanically.  It was the disaster to my and my neighbor's front yards that prevents me from recommending this company.

Andy and his son built a beautiful pool,  The build time was longer than expected but they has to excavate a great deal of rock which they agreed to do up front at no extra charge.  The pool was great for the first 4 years, but a digital timer failed.  I could get no response and had to pay $280 to have it replaced when it should have been under the 5 year warranty.  Next the pool developed cracks in the plaster which Andy investigated and said was non structural and he would repair them.  I heard from him again one more time when he could not come because his transmission was out in his truck.  That was the last i heard from him.  I have tried to reach him at several time since and never got a call back.  Now i have found out that the cracks are structural and will cost me a great deal to repair.I am very disappointed with the experience as a whole and it is a shame, because we used to get many compliments on our pool.

Overall, we are very pleased with our pool. Roger Chandler was our salesperson and designer. He was new to Cody, but not pool design, and did a good job and was fun to work with. Once the contract was signed and initial layout agreed upon, we were turned over to our project manager, Randy Bolding. Randy did an excellent job of moving the job along much more quickly than we'd even hoped. He encouraged us to call with any question or concern anytime (we did, and were pleased with the interactions). After the final installation step was completed, we were turned over to the service department for the pool startup and 'Pool School.'There seems to be some animosity amongst their various departments (design/sales, construction, service) but everyone we worked with was knowledgeable and wanted to do a good job for us. We stayed actively involved throughout the project which I think helped a lot,and were fortunate to be building in their off season so contractors were very available.
