I received a call yesterday afternoon to schedule the work for this morning since rain was expected this weekend. The work was completed today and took about 3 hours. The worker arrived after the 7-9am window I was given. I tried to confirm the repairs with the repair man before he started and had some communication issues. He did show me some photos of the work before leaving. The work area was cleaned up when he was done.
4/3/13: Updated the grade on the quality of the repair. It rained yesterday and the roof leaked. Flashing that was glued down in another area around dormer has already popped up. Called Clear Choice last night and someone is suppose to come out today.

"We have reached out to the customer on several occasions with no response, We are a local family company and sacrificed our livelihood and even offered a free repair to satisfy her needs. She has not responded. 297 calls came into the office with the recent wind storm the first day and I hired a temp to take in information.1440 calls came in on day 7 and i apologize that the temp was not aware of the " big deal" on angis list due to the fact that this coupon was not expected to run concurrent with mother natures forces. Inspite of the high demand of customers without roofs and potential excessive water damage we were still able to asses her demanding needs to service a non-emergency roof the very next day.Her concerns of the other members of the community with serious roofing water infiltrations were meet and thwart with "me me me " Im more important" attitude.The customer was offered an out option due to her call back (that is apparent in her review) It is is unfortunate that we have not fulfilled the needs of this particular person,and do not enjoy highlighting her ignorance or uneducated opinion.The customer has been "Red Flagged" and her review has been uploaded in a contractors web site that polices service to homeowners as well as eliminates this customer from our database.We regret the loss of a customer but strongly feal that a storm chaser or someone from craigs list will be more suitable and a better fit for her contractor of choice. I called to schedule an appointment and anticipated that I would have to wait several days before I heard from an inspector but I was pleasantly surprised to get a response a few hours later. I told them I selected them due to being a member of Angie's List . I met with the inspector on a Saturday, reviewed the damages with him, was given an estimate and signed the repair contract. I was given a date for the work to be preformed which was just a few days later. I received a phone call from the office personnel, who was very apologetic, informing me the roofer would not be able to come out that day but would be a day late. I appreciated the call and was not surprised or upset due to all the damages that had happened in our area. The person did come out as promised and replaced the shingles and the rotten boards. I am satisfied with the repairs that he completed.
The office personnel that I spoke to was very congenial and helpful. The inspector was also congenial, professional, explained in detail the work that needed to be performed and returned my phone calls in reasonable time. He followed up on the delay and the work that was completed. I did see the repairman and he was also very congenial. It was a nice experience to do business with pleasant people! When and if the time comes for any roofing projects, I will not hesitate to call on Clear Choice Roofing.

Boris came by to give me an estimate, and gave me two different prices. It was not initially clear that one was for just the repair to the fascia, and the other to repair the roof decking. I thought it was a lower price for the fascia, and the higher price for the fascia AND the roof. It wasn't until I was agreeing to the work that it became clear the full price for both was going to be $900. Still, it was a good price, and the work needed to be done.
Scheduling the job went quickly, and the work was performed well. Everything was cleaned up at the end, and I'm satisfied with the finished product. It wasn't the easiest to schedule everything while I work in South Austin and the work needed to get done in North Austin.
I will look at them when it's time to re-roof my house, but I will also get bids from other companies. They don't automatically get my business just yet.

After the inspection, he talked to my wife and explained what was needed and gave us an estimate to replace the missing shingles and do some basic sealing. He gave us a discount if we would put a sign in our yard, which we were happy to do. Note that we had some earlier feedback from another vendor who said we might need to contact our
insurance to see about replacing the whole roof. Gavin explained that the roof, which is only 8 years old, was not that bad. His honesty and input was very much appreciated.
Clear Choice was not able to come out on the initially scheduled time, but they
contacted me to let me know about the schedule change and the reason for
the delay (only one day).
On the newly scheduled day, he showed up as promised and got the work done.

He climbed to the roof of my 2-story home and evaluated the whole roof and gave a firm quote.
The roof was repaired 2 days later prior to an impending storm. The service technician was very pleasant and informative. He replaced themissing shingles and sealed many areas.
The company made a follow up call following the storm to make sure everything was good.
I was very pleased with the service from start to finish.

We elected not to provide service to this customer due to the shadiness and misdirection he lead us in. He was rude from day one to my secretary, as she took the call and was trying to get his information.He stated that it was an insurance approved re-roof claim but told my representative he only wanted a chimney removed.The customer has his estimate in hand from his insurance company and by law should have been upfront in delivery of the paperwork to his contractor of choice.When potential customers shop around and are not up front with the insurance paper work,it is usually because they want to find a company to conspire with them to defraud the insurance company and get out of paying their deductible. This is a class "c" felony with repercussions of a 10k fine and imprisonment up to 2 years.I was notified of this customers dishonest misdirection and elected not to participate in his unethical endever.I did tell my representative to try to help the customer out by letting him know that he should forfeit his Angie's list membership and look for a contractor more suitable to his needs on craigs list.
