I think (and found online) that despite my asking the question specifically to the salesperson, my chair and ottoman have PLEATHER on sides and the back (definitely leather in the places that you touch). I have this funny feeling they do. BUT, the price was reasonable for this kind of chair and ottoman, and I like it. But it made me feel a little annoyed that I could not get VERY clear and confident answers from my salesperson in general (which now of course makes me think it's probably pleather on the sides). But again, I like the chair and ottoman.
