AUSTIN WINDOW FASHIONS

After a quick search on Angie's List I selected Austin Window Fashions to make and install my window shutters.
Laurie was the person whom assisted me throughout the process - she knew the product, was extremely diligent, professional, responsive and made the experience (and I'm a complete novice) an easy one to execute.
Additionally the rest of the team - Laurie's colleagues - were equally professional and courteous when Laurie was on a day off.
Would strongly recommend using this firm for your shutter needs.

Kathy Wallace was very helpful in the showroom with what options we could have.  We knew what we wanted, and she was very clear about what they could provide.  She answered all my questions well.  When she came to measure the windows at the house, she helped match color samples and made sure everything was ordered just right with the pulls on different sides for different windows because of window positioning.  She was very punctual in giving us a quote for different options.  When the blinds came in, they were installed by Jason.  He came earlier than the scheduled time and was very quick and efficient.  He explained about warranty, removal, care, etc.  He was very professional.  Our blinds are perfect.  Thank you!

Good overall. Kathy is wonderful. She helped us narrow down our window treatment choices by being both knowledgeable, helpful, but not pushy. She was organized and punctual for the consultation appointment and helped us efficiently choose everything we wanted, including all the different options. There was an issue with a broken louver during install but they took responsibility for it and took care of it. The shutters look great and are well-made.

I could not be happier. Leslie was great with helping me define what I wanted and the shutters look perfect. Jason showed up on time and was very efficient with the installation. Both Leslie and Jason were very conscientious about explaining all of the details to me. Wish I'd done it sooner!

Kathy was great to work with- she was responsive to our questions, quick to find solutions, and a good communicator. She worked up several bids for us, until we got everything right - even suggesting that we delay placing our order by a few days to take advantage of a product offer. The scheduler was very understanding of our need to delay installation. The installer was also top notch - professional, careful with his tools, and attentive to detail. We will call Austin Window Fashions again if we need more blinds.

Laurie was extremely responsive and worked with us to make sure our needs were met. She meticulously measured the six windows which needed to be customized due to the shape and the fact that it was a bay window area. She called to suggest some other things and everything was like clock work. The installer was absolutely fantastic and extremely professional. It was seamless from the first meeting, to picking our final selection and the installation. I recommend them without reservation

The support and customer service from the Austin Window Fashions team was tremendous. From start to finish, the entire experience was very welcoming and professional. We first visited their showroom to get a good look at what they had to offer. While there, the representative took the time to show us all the options, asked good questions to better understand what we are looking for and need, and then setup an appointment to visit our home. Soon after, she showed up at our home and again spent a fair amount of time helping us choose and plan. Overall, she was amazing. Once we got it down to a few choices, she took some laser measurements and delivered us detailed quotes a few days later. After the order was placed, the blinds were installed about 3 weeks later. The installer was efficient, clean, professional, and polite.
We did have a few manufacturing issues/defects with a couple of the blinds. Once again, the Austin Window Fashion team shined. The customer service to resolve the problems was outstanding! In short, we had replacement blinds installed quickly after the problems were noted.

Kathy at Austin Windows Fashions was very helpful, suggesting (but not pushing) upgrades and setting forth the costs of all the options we were looking for. The blinds she recommended work very well and we have no complaints.

That said, the only thing that prevents me from giving an A rating was that there were some glitches in the actual delivery and installation, and it took several additional visits for the errors to be corrected. They were, in the grand scheme, fairly minor, but it happened across several of the blinds, and it was a bit of an inconvenience/ imposition to deal with multiple reschedulings. I think this was a manufacturer issue more than an Austin Windows Fashions issue, but I can't rate the manufacturer (Hunter-Douglas) here.

We had a wonderful experience with Austin Window Fashions!  We worked with Leslie Plas who was a total pleasure to work with. She was so incredibly knowledgable and helpful along every step of the way.  She helped us decide what shutters suited our home style best, offered design advice, where shutters would be beneficial in our home and where they were not necessary, and what color would best compliment our current trim and paint colors.  She is a wealth of information and I trusted her expertise 100%.  Chris our installer was very professional and paid attention to detail.  He didn't skip corners and was very easy to work with.  I love the assurance of their lifetime warranty and really feel like they wanted to be sure we were 100% satisfied with our experience from start to finish.  We couldn't be happier with our new shutters and feel like they have transformed our home!  You will not be disappointed with your choice to work with Austin Window Fashions!  If you do- ask for Leslie Plas!

Kathy was fabulous. She came to my house the day I called the store to measure my windows. She was professional, knowledgeable, and very friendly and courteous. Our shades arrived earlier than excepted and were installed in a very professional and quick manner. He installed all 7 shades in about 30 minutes which means that Kathy's measurements were perfect.

Austin Window Fashions has been a pleasure to work with in all regards.  I was able to visit a showroom in San Antonio where I lived at the time to make preliminary selections and still work with Kindal Mitchell out of the Austin office.  The young lady in San Antonio gave freely of her time and was very personable and professional.  I was very impressed that there wasn't any concern over who was doing what and who would earn commission.  The attitude was "we all work together".  Kindal set up an appointment with me for the following Monday at my new home in the final stages of construction.  She showed up on time with sample books and all of my information from my San Antonio showroom visit in hand.  She went through every room in which I wanted to install shades with me and made suggestions as to where I might want to consider using shades, such as on high windows in a master closet to prevent clothes from fading, something I never would have thought of.  Then she proceeded to measure every window in the house (and there are many!) just in case at some later date I might want to add shades to those windows.
Kindal was excellent at helping me decide on color, fabric, and design.  She was able to guide me in the right direction and affirm my instinct without projecting her own personal taste.  I have found that it is sometimes difficult to find someone in interior design work who will work with you and your tastes in decor for your own home!  Kindal is definitely professional and sensitive in that regard.  She was also just a delight to work with.  She was just as excited about my selections as I was!
I could not be more pleased with the final result.  The fabric and style of shades are absolutely perfect for the craftsman style of our home. Jason (I believe I have his name correct) was my installer and was the most pleasant person to work with.  He, too, was on time, a little early actually, and was personable and professional.
Kindal followed up after the installation to see how I liked the shades.  And when I had some problems with a few of the shades she was quick to have someone scheduled to come back to the house for adjustments.  Adjustments were successfully made on 2 of the shades.  The third shade will need to be sent in to have checked out, but the gentleman who did the adjustments was considerate in asking if I wanted to wait until after the holidays in case I had guests coming.  How great is that?!  The company is willing to come out an additional time (an hour's drive) to make it more convenient for me!
I highly recommend Kindal and Austin Window Fashions.  I believe the price was reasonable for the quality of product and service I have received.  On top of that, I was given a Hunter Douglas rebate form (which Kindal was happy to explain in detail to me) which will give me $650 for my 13 shades.

They're locally made.  Everything they said they would do they did.  The installation was excellent and I'm thinking about using their service in the near future.  I really liked what they had to offer.

We scheduled a consultation with Leslie Plas from Austin Window Fashions. She was running late due to clients being in the showroom but she called ahead which was completely OK with us.
Leslie arrived and took a full tour of the home and listened to what we were looking for. Just by looking at the windows on the double doors she knew what lift system options we would have. (Something our two other consultations did not provide, one even suggested we cover part of the window with the top of the shade system, awful!)
We sat down and Leslie proved her thorough knowledge of the product inside and out. It was clear Leslie was not there to "yes" us to death, rather provide clear and accurate information that would both keep our budget on track and get us the product we desired.
Leslie left our home and gave us quotes within a couple days of both the Hunter Douglas Duette line as well as the lesser expensive line. Her quote came in as the least expensive of three quotes (for the same product).
We did not hesitate to choose Leslie and Austin Window Fashions to place our order. Within two weeks from our order we had our beautiful blinds installed. The installer was on time, professional, and thorough. We have been living with the shades for about a week and they are perfect. 
To be frank whether or not Austin Window Fashions came in at the lowest price, we would have chosen them. Based on Leslie, the showroom, and the install timeline, they had us sold. It was simply a bonus that they came in at the best price.

Thank you Kathy Wallace for coming out to my house, discussing my options, and recommending a shade and color. The shades turned out great. I'm happy with the color and install. I thought I might have problems given my weird windows, but to my surprise, the shades look wonderful.

I can't say enough good things about our sales rep Tara and  installer Jason at Austin Window Fashions! They are both professional, courteous and knowledgeable about their products. Tara measured for the blinds with precision, they were delivered quickly and Jason had them installed within 30 minutes. This is the second time I have used Austin Window Fashions and I  highly recommend them!

Kathy Wallace came to our home to explain our options and to measure our windows.  She arrived on time, was very thorough in explaining our options with shutters and was very accurate in her measurements for the manufacture of the products.  When she left we had an approximate date of delivery/install and her phone number to call if any questions came up.
Austin Window Fashions called and set up an install date that was prior to their estimate.  The installer arrived and was finished within an hour.  The shutters fit perfectly.  The installer gave us helpful tips on how to keep them working properly and how to clean them.  He was super professional and very knowledgeable.
Kathy Wallace delivered all she said she would and Austin Window Fashions does an excellent job with shutters.  She also made a follow up call to us after the installation was complete. 
This was our second experience with this company and we are very pleased again.

    We were doing some large renovating jobs, and needed new window treatments that would go with the upgraded look.  We chose Austin Window fashions because we were so impressed with the service we received from the moment we entered their store.  We had samples of the new floor tiles, and colors that we had chosen to update the house with.  We were uncertain which way to go because of the many window treatment options that are available today.  Everyone was very helpful, patient, and worked easily with our designs often changing ..... which meant changes in some of the choices with window colors or treatments.  Tersa Russel who worked with us was amazingly intuitive and flowed easily with any fears we had  ( too dark, too light, too soft, too see through etc.)
But she used all of her many talents in her abilities to help us "see" the final vision, and seemed to know how to adjust everything easily and creatively so that our vision stayed on target.  We spoke many times on the phone and in person and every call or visit was given the same attention and desire that we get exactly what we wanted.  No question, large or small was treated differently.  Teresa and ALL of the people we met and worked together with were outstanding!!!   The instilations went smoothly, were timely, and any wrappings, boxes, etc. were cleaned up immediately as the job progressed.  We had a slight problem with one of the blinds not connecting with the remote, we called and the manager got right on it.  When it seemed it might be an issue with the blind connection Austin Window fashions immediately remeasured, ordered, and installed a new blind.  They even gave us a discount!!!!
    This is the store that we recomend to all of our friends now with complete confidence that they will be happy with the AWF team and we give the store manager, Teresa, and all of the employes there a happy A Plus.   It may seem that the cost was high to some, but we have a large two story home with over 14 windows, many of them very large, tall, and wide. A few windows were actually fitted with three shades all with remotes. itworked out best for our design. The measuring for that was SPOT on..... and it was the right choice!!  AWF would deffinately be our choice again.

After the initial treatment, they had to come back and fix some of their earlier mistakes. They negotiated with us on the price. Overall, we were very satisfied, even though it took a while to get 100% correct.

I chose Austin Window Fashions primarily because they carried a national-brand blind that I was interested in.  During my initial showroom visit, the sales person was courteous and familiarized me with the various types of blinds that would be appropriate for my home.  Several days later, the same sales person visited my home, and we were able to finalize the type of blind, and the blind color.  During this same visit, measurements were taken, and a preliminary quote was drawn up, which I approved.
Order lead time was approximately two weeks.  Installation took the better part of an afternoon for twenty eight blinds.  The installer was professional, and respectful of my home.  The installation quality was very good.  One minor issue was a cut-out on the door blinds to accommodate the door handle.  The cut-out was in the wrong spot, which required three blinds to be returned to the workshop for re-cutting.  This adjustment took one week, after which the door blinds were re-installed, and the installation was complete.
I am very pleased with the new blinds.  The brand I chose is a high quality, which has improved the looks of the new windows that I had installed in April.  I strongly recommend Austin Windows Fashions to anyone who is looking for a high-quality solution.
