I have called AllState several times over the years and they have always done a good job for me. This time there was a slight hiccup in getting the estimate and scheduling, but it was understandable and all it took was a friendly reminder that I was waiting. The gentlemen doing the work called beforehand and arrived as expected. They confirmed with me what I wanted done and asked if I had any other questions. They answered all my questions throughout the process and did a great job.

everything Went fine. Keith arrived as scheduled and replaced valves. They are different than the old valves so he explained how they work. I received a $20 discount for using Angies list. I will use Allstate again should the need arise.

I called them on a weekend, they contacted me on monday and came out first thing Tuesday morning. They figured out the leak was coming from my irrigation system. The whole thing took about 15 minutes (had some trouble shutting off the city water line valve) and did not charge me.

Went very well. He tried to clear the clog from inside the house but when he was not making any headway he used his larger machine from the outside access. After he was finished he did not have the proper cap for the access so I went and purchased one at Home Depot and put it on myself.

This was the best experience with a repair of any kind--not to mention plumbing, which typically involves more expense than anticipated and lots of clean up. Not so this time!! I appreciated the top knotch skills of Cody, who quickly evaluated the source of the low hot water pressure, replaced the line in the bathroom sink, and also re-seated the toilet all at the expected price! he did great clean up and had clear maintenance tips for me. I have never looked forward to a plumber's visit but I will from now on!!

This review spans two service calls a few days apart by Allstate Plumbing. The first call was to unclog a sewer line blockage which had caused a back-up in the master bath. The second call was for a complete sewer line inspection via camera to ensure there was not major a problem in the lines under the house. Allstate was on my "short list" of companies to call to unclog the lines (under the slab) in my house. However, I first called another company who gave up after about two hours. They tried multiple times to snake the line (both directions -- towards the house and towards the street) from the clean-out just outside the house. Each time they mostly cleared the line, it would almost immediately clog again with debris that they thought might be hardened grease accumulation. They suggested I call Allstate to have the lines water-jetted as they did not have a jetting machine. (To their credit, this other company ended up not charging me anything for all the work they performed before giving up.) On the first call, Allstate arrived before the scheduled time and snaked the lines between the clean-out and the street to clear that portion of the line. Then they worked for quite a while to snake the line from the clean-out towards the master bath. That is where the clog was located. Finally, they got the line open and flowing well. Next, they used the water jet machine to clean the line from the clean-out to the street and then from the clean-out to the master bath. After finishing that portion of the sewer lines under the house, they moved to the clean-out port on the far side of the house and jetted that line. (This is the line from the second bathroom and kitchen areas.) Surprisingly, they reported that the line was already pretty clean, in spite of my thinking the kitchen would have been the source of any hardened grease. Their conclusion was that the debris in the lines was not grease at all. I asked them to water jet those lines anyway. They ran the water jet all the way from the far side of the house past the front clean-out to the street. Once they had the lines jetted and freely flowing, they removed some of the debris from the clean-out opening. They were concerned by the presence and appearance of rocky debris in the line which resembled coarse sand or fine gravel. They told me that while the lines were flowing, the hardened rock / sandy looking debris might indicate a broken sewer line under the slab. They recommended having the line inspected to see if there was any major damage. They took about two hours to clean the clog and water jet the lines. they did not carry an inspection camera on their truck and suggested I call to have the lines inspected. When they left, I called Allstate and scheduled the follow-up appointment. I asked for a full camera inspection of the sewer lines and to have the floor seal of the toilet in the master bath replaced as it had leaked when I had the back-ups due to the clog. The second call was scheduled for two business days later. The plumber arrived on time and started with the camera inspection at the clean-out. He examined the line from the clean-out to street and noted some of the rocky debris still in that line. An examination of of the line from the clean-out to the master bath, showed a great deal of rocky debris in that line. The amount led him to believe that another clog would be only a matter of weeks or months away if they rocky areas continued to impede free flow of water in the line. He did not want to try to clean the debris from this clean-out for fear of just pushing it farther towards the master bath. He then moved to the far side of the house for another inspection. The lines here were very clean until they neared the drain from the water softener. His conclusion was that the material in the lines was not grease but hard rock-like mineral deposits possibly associated with the softener. He worked for two hours with the camera and auger to push the rocky material towards the front clean-out. He would have to use the auger to break up the larger chunks and mineral deposits and then push / flush them down the line using running water, the non-running auger and the camera. In the end, he spent about three and a half hours clearing the lines by breaking loose and then breaking up any mineral deposits he found and then pushing them out of the line. Once the lines were all completely clear, a final pass with the camera showed near-new-looking lines everywhere. No damage or breaks were found in the sewer lines. All the gravel and sandy debris was just broken up mineral deposits. It remains a puzzle of sorts as to why these deposits started breaking loose from the PVC pipes and causing the clogs but at least they are all gone now. The last task was to replace the seal and re-seat the toilet in the master bath. Compared to the difficult task of cleaning up the sewer lines, this was a breeze for him. I was very impressed by both crews from Allstate. They were very professional, efficient in doing their work and personable to boot. They explained the work they were doing at each step and worked non-stop at a good pace. The cost of the two service calls was relatively high but not at all unreasonable considering that they worked for over six hours on this job. I will not hesitate to call them again for other plumbing needs in the future. My only "complaint", if you can call it that, is that they appeared to be very busy. I first called them on a Tuesday. They could not get the first crew to me until Friday due to scheduling of the jetting machine. For the second call for the follow-up camera inspection, I called Friday and they were able to schedule the appointment for the next Tuesday. Both response times are not bad but often for plumbing problems, we would all like same day or next day scheduling.

Exactly as I would want! Office contacted me early to set an expected time frame. When tech was available earlier, office contacted me again to ensure early arrival was acceptable. Danny arrived promptly, listened to my description of problem, promptly and efficiently fixed that. I also had another problem with guest bathroom I brought up. Danny looked this over, found he could easily fix this with parts on hand. So, he fixed both the immediate and the 'extra' problem quickly, well, and for good price. Danny was great professional plumber, and because of his help, I will use Allstate Plumbing again. I will also refer this company with confidence to friends.

Their plumbers are always prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, considerate of costs, and competent. They are my "go-to" plumber now due to their reliability. I count on their advice when doing home improvements such as my water heater upgrade. I think their prices are fair.

Initially we thought it would be a straight-forward water heater replacement for a 13-year+ old water heater that died. However, the overall installation of the previous water heater was nowhere near up to the current codes in Austin. Allstate did a very significant amount of extra work bringing everything up to code so the new water heater could be installed and pass the Austin inspection. I feel that they did a lot of extra work at a very reasonable price considering how much time they had to spend on the job. We've used Allstate for many years. Everyone you talk to there is friendly and professional. I continue to recommend them to my friends and get the same feedback about them.
