ADT is really professional and johnny-on-the-spot when they are selling you something, but have an issue (alarm going off all night, etc) and they are nowhere to be found. Additionally, read the FINE PRINT. Even if you move, and your buyer wants to continue service, OH NO, they will bill you the remainder of the three year contract, and then sign the buyer up for a three year contract on top of that. And they had the gall to try to sell me another system at my NEW house (while still paying for the old one.) They have NO sense of company loyalty whatsoever. I will NEVER do business with this company, or any of the sleazy builders they have on their payroll, ever again.

They've been fine. They had to repair a line at one point, and the repair went well. I always make sure I have my alarm on, and I feel safer with it.

I used them for the second time. I was very happy with their work. I used them because I have their service. I would use them again in the future.

The person who came to give an estimate of the cost was prompt, informative and professional. My system is over twenty years old, and I didn't really know what was available. She was most helpful explaining what would work best for me. The technician who came to do the installation was equally prompt, courteous and professional. He also helped me tweak how the alarms were wired to meet the needs for the way my house is utilized. I marked down a little on the cost; I think after paying monitoring fees for 20+ years it could have been a little lower (the cost included a discount for being a USAA member), but the ease of use from the old system is well worth the upgrade cost. It cost about the same to have the system installed the first time. I think after 20+ years I've gotten my money's worth! I might also add that I have never had an issue with ADT's monitoring. I'm very happy with their service.

Master Board on alarm system failed. Contaced ADT on 11/10/2010. Customer Services/Technical advisor was no help what so ever. She suggested I have a repair crew come out at $100.39 for 1/2 hour. At which point I advised ADT, I wished to cancel monitoring service. I was then transferred to customer service. Manager waived repair fee. Technicians came out on 11/12/10 late afternoon. One of the technicians was smacking his gum so loud, I had to turn away (and I chew gum). They rebooted system and told me (as they were laughing) to start saving money, because I would have to buy a whole new system. They then looked around at our smoke detectors, which are hard wired to our system. They stated they needed to do a blue print of our house for liability/insurance reasons. Call me stupid, but I do not want our alarm company to have a lay out of our house. I am now on Angie's list looking for reliable alarm systems and montitoring company. Oh, and by the way, these technicians proceeded to tell me, that ADT bought out Home Team Services (my original montitoring company), Brinks, Broadview....

We pay a little less than $30 for the monthly service fee. The installation was done in 3 separate payments. They told me that I wouldn't be charged for the service fee for the first 3 months but I was. I didn't follow up on this. They are not as responsive as they claim to be, although they may be if the alarm actually goes off which it hasn't. They have recently merged or bought out other companies so the people you work with now may not be the same people you work with in the future. The installation was scheduled on a particular day and I told them I was due to have a baby at some point. They cancelled the installation date without telling me and I had arranged to have people at the house to be there for the installation. They thought they were being convenient for me but they didn’t tell me so I had to reschedule for about 1½ weeks later. ADT has a discount if you have USA Insurance. You do have to sign up for a multi year plan for most of their services. It is at least two years.

The local guy, Robert, that we were able to speak with once (after numerous phone calls)couldn't have cared less and was completely unresponsive. We were charged for things that we never received. We have canceled our service and requested a full refund. I will say that they seem very willing to give us our money back, which I appreciate.

Sales person was very young and inexperienced. His answer to all questions was either "Of course we do that" or "The installer will explain that." The installer rescheduled twice and was very late when he came on the third day I took off work to meet him. I did not get a manual, so I had to search the web or call the 800 number for answers to my questions about operating the system. The salesman told me the installer would do all of this; the installer did not. Two years later, I accidentally discovered that some of the windows, which I had specifically asked the installers to check because it appeared that the lines had been cut, were not alarmed. I set the alarm as I did every night, but when I got up in the morning, I felt a cool breeze because these windows were still open and had been open all night. The alarm system did not detect that. I called customer service and the manager rudely said that ADT was not at fault. I explained that entry could have been made through the windows with no warning. He was unconcerned, and actually argued with me. Finally he agreed that if he had to, he would send a repair person for an additional charge in a week or two. I found that unacceptable. ADT should not charge me if they did not do the work correctly For two years I had assumed that I was protected when I was not. He then said he would have to look at my contract. I called him back, and my contact said explicity that ADT was responsible for every window. When the installer arrived, he would not fix the windows until I gave him a check for a service call. I asked for a refund but did not receive one. All in all, ADT has very, very poor service and do not deliver their core product - security for your home.

I called my alarm company (now called Broadview Security - "the next generation of Brink's home security") to find out what went wrong. They were able to quickly secure my identity, and alter the preprogrammed patterns to match my new temporary requirements. They were prompt, polite and cooperative. They had me on the phone for a few minutes, fixed my problems, and called me back to confirm it was resolved. Glad I got the extended warranty, and even more glad they actually honor it (instead of charging nickle and dime fees for everything).

They put in wiring and it wasn't compatible with my phone lines. I was without my alarm for three weeks without knowing it. They came back out and they had to replace it and it was more expensive. I would have thought they would have told me it wasn't working or they would have realized it themselves. They put in a different system in the bedroom that isn't working properly. I still need to get that fixed. The technician was fine. One of the monitors fell off and the customer service just told me to glue it back up there. It didn't seem very professional. I still have a mixed experience with it. They responded in three days the first time, because they had to order parts. It didn't seem like they really knew what they were doing. The technician was very professional.

The installation process went okay with the exception of where they put the smoke alarm...right next to the bathroom door. It's so sensitive that steam from the shower sometimes sets it off. They always call right away when the alarm goes off. But they sometimes call to report a random problem and when I call back, they often tell me everything is fine. I sometimes find that a bit disconcerting. It feels as if the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. However, the system overall works and makes me feel a bit safer in my home!

Great; they came out when we moved into our house and examined the pre-existing wiring and made corrections where necessary. We received a free keypad for the master bedroom in addition to the existing one in the kitchen.

System "designer" came out same day I emailed. He and I discussed what I wanted installed. He told me a technician would come out the next morning. The tech finally arrived at 2pm. He had no idea what he was supposed to do. Another tech arrived later to help him out. Both techs seems pretty sloppy-there was drywall dust everywhere (they didn't clean up their work areas); they left several tools and the old alarm system was lying around the house when they left; there are little wires hanging out of places. Overall, they seemed to arrive too late and pressed through the install far too quickly. I would much rather have had them simply tell me they couldn't finish on the promised day, and come back the next day to finish the job correctly. The system does seems to work, and it wasn't a major pain to clean up the mess, but I was pretty disappointed with the installation.

We were already considering getting monitored security, since our house was pre-wired for it. One day an ADT sales guy was canvassing our neighborhood, which is how we signed up. He was nice enough, but that's where the positives have pretty much ended. The contractor that was hired to install the system made huge holes in our walk-in closet as well as other smaller holes throughout the house. He then did a really crappy job of patching them up. Instead of professionally patching the drywall, he screwed plastic utility plate covers over the holes in our closet! Yes, it's our closet, but it was still an unnecessary mess, a totally sloppy job considering that the house was pre-wired and he apparently didn't know what he was doing. The installation took several days (which was longer than it was supposed to take), because another contractor had to come and fix the first guy's sub-par work. We're now trying to sell our house, and ended up having to pay contractors to professionally patch the huge holes in the closet. We also realized several months after service began that one of our ground floor window sensors and the window sensors going up our stairs were never working!! They fixed the problem within a day or two, if I'm remembering correctly, but we assumed they tested everything before saying the job was done. Another problem we had was that the system was frequently being cut-off due to some satellite issues. I forget the details, but it was only corrected after they upgraded our control box about a year into our service. Basically what this meant was that we had gone literally almost a whole year with unreliable service, on top of the non-working sensors in the two windows. The really bad thing about the satellite issue was that we wouldn't know we were unprotected for up to several days later when ADT would call us to tell us that the system was down! So, imagine all of the stress of having to take off several days of work for the longer installation, having to pay to repair the results of the installation, all of the hours of phone calls, and a feeling of complete lack of security that lasted throughout the first year of service. I would never use ADT again. Even if they volunteered to come back and properly patch the holes, we did not want them back in our house! The only positive thing I have to say now is that since they fixed the sensors and upgraded our control box, we at least haven't had any monitoring issues that we know of in the past 6 months or so.

Eric did a fantastic job of reviewing the various system options with us and designed a system that would meet our security needs. The crew that showed up to install the system worked for nearly 14 hours to install the system. They were thorough and cleaned up after themselves.

This company is great. My home is rather large and they still monitor it for only 35 dollars a month. I don't have to worry about a burglar without my alarm going off. I feel safe at home and even when away as I know my home is protected.

What I like the most about them is that the one time I made a mistake and set the alarm off and they sent the police really fast. This showed me how prompt they are, and it makes me feel safe and be pleased with their service. I pay quarterly.

We are very pleased with Brink's Home Security Incorporated. The installation went very smoothly and they explained everything very well. The new boxes are very attractive and we like that we don't have to remember a code. We simply have to press a button for a quick response. Brinks was very helpful and courteous.

It started out a little slow to get an appointment but were able to call and move the appointment up. The man that came out was very polite and not at all pushy. He set up the installation two days later and we were good to go. We haven't had any problems and the price is average for this service.
