"Hi [Removed Member Name], thanks for your comments and the opportunity to explain our billing practice. As we explained when you posted this originally on the ABC Facebook page, we do not charge a customer for a service that was not performed, nor for estimates on most of our services. However, we did perform an initial lawn service on Wednesday, August 3rd, after the free estimate. You called into our office on Friday, August 5th to cancel your service. When a customer cancels a service, we believe it fare to only charge them for the service that we completed PRIOR to the cancellation. In your case, there had been one service visit (not the free estimate visit) and that's what you were billed for and subsequently did not pay for. It's standard practice that once we perform a service, we email a statement to the email provided by the customer. If we do not collect payment, we will then call the customer about their past due balance. In your case there were multiple calls to the number we have on file for you and to the best of our knowledge, none of our calls were returned. Lastly, when we cannot reach the customer, we will send their information to a collection agency. We regret the confusion in regards to your service, but we stand by our protocol in billing customers only for services that we have provided."
